Also, a TV Licence costs £154.50, if you're have a colour television, or £52 if you happen to be living the 1970's.

In the US, we have had this ridiculous establishment of ultra right wing radio hosts for years on end pushing to people that they are victims. That they do not have a voice. And that has gained ground, with the gate being opened by Newt Gingrich. When they complain about "bias reporting," the journalists in the US are forced to tip toe around that because there's a firing squad waiting in the back if they don't (this faction of the US who is hysterical over the "conservative" opinion) and they are smeared as a biased organization. In the UK (I lived there for a few months actually), to my knowledge, they don't have that. Now I'm not saying they don't have an ultra right wing party or following somewhere, or right leaning newspapers etc, all countries do. This kind of BBC questioning is simply normal in academic debate. The idea is meant to be challenged and tested like this. I believe college students, especially in graduated school are trained for such debate because they have to go through this to get the degree. I am surprised Ben Shapiro did not find it home, but felt uncomfortable about these kind of questions.

This wasn't even a hostile interview format either. If Ben ever went onto Hard Talk, he'd probably have a nervous breakdown.

If I had a dollar for every time I have had to explain that a single payer healthcare system does not indicate a shift to authoritarian communism in the US, well, let's just say I would no longer be employed at that facility. Every single question was loaded, biased, and was only asked to assassinate Ben's character. Anyone bringing up a tweet from 7 years ago isn't trying to ask thought provoking questions, they're simply trying to win by exposing a charater flaw. The only difference here is that Ben lost his cool, which makes him look weak because he sees himself as somoene who can handle anybody. Ben fucked up, but the interviewer is asking the same bullshit questions all the mainstream media asks.

The interviewer's tone wasn't inquisitive, it was accusatory. There's nothing wrong with wanting clarification or playing devil's advocate, but that's not what the interviewer did. He made biased prejudgments, even if he was "simply asking questions." Ben's entire point was that the wording he used when asking the questions demonstrated an opinion against his point of view as opposed to a non-partisan question with no adjectives leaning one way or the other. Yes, he is asking Ben questions, but with descriptors that negatively paint Ben's opinions. Not only that but even though Ben was combative, Neil was very passive aggressive throughout the whole interview, making statements such as "if only you knew how silly that sounded you wouldn't have said it" and "thank you for showing us that American politics is not filled with anger." Being passive aggressive isn't the most appropriate way to conduct an interview. Ben didn't do a good job at being cordial, but Neil doesn't get a pass in my book either. Furthermore, it's inappropriate to make someone look like a hypocrite based off things they said 7 years ago, especially in an interview which is supposed to be inquiring about Ben's book, not his past tweets.

He said the possibility that a woman could be charged under it for having a miscarriage is cruel and barbaric and it is. Whether you are pro-life or pro-choice. Having a woman go through that kind of trauma and then have to possibly prove that it was a miscarriage or accident and not a self-induced abortion is definitely cruel and barbaric. The fact as pointed out in this show that Ben Shapiro immediately conflates late term abortion (without defining what he means no less) with this law which may kick in before a woman is even actually aware that she is pregnant.
