Adam Rodriguez, as a huge hockey fan I can tell you the NHL is trying to clean up the sport as much as possible. I think it will always remain an element of the game for entertainment purposes but for getting rid of it I don’t think will ever happen. Some fans come out to watch a game just for that reason and that’s one thing that bothers me about it. The league is handing down harsher fines & penalties, yes & it’s definitely a lot different now than it was in the old days. There’s so much you can’t get away with now than players did then. Hockey is a great sport in my eyes & it always will be.

Context: Last week: Marisnick had a nasty collision with Lucroy at home plate giving him a broken nose. To me it seemed incidental with both players trying to make a play. Marisnick saw that Lucroy was blocking the plate so he tried to go around him, but the throw took a hop and Lucroy adjusted towards the ball (same direction Marisnick was trying to get around him) and boom. NOTE: Here's the official MLB rule on a catcher blocking home plate: A runner attempting to score may not deviate from his direct pathway to the plate in order to initiate contact with the catcher (or other player covering home plate). - SEEMS TO SIDE WITH ANGELS Unless the catcher is in possession of the ball, the catcher cannot block the pathway of the runner as he is attempting to score. - SEEMS TO SIDE WITH ASTROS

Nah it wasn’t... I was there. After Jake was hit, the fans were pleased that the angels were even (though many, including myself, feel the pitch was too high). Jake was kinda like “yeah I deserve this” and the game went on for the rest of the night like normal.

If he did it intentionally or if he was that kinda player then yes, but it was not and marisnick is not that kinda player so I dont think you throw a head shot at him. How marisnick responded to the whole incident even the throw at his head shows you what kind of player and person he is. More class then the entire Angel's organization. If you want to get a player back throw low if you want to do severe damage throw at his head

Boy, I sure do miss the days when baseball "bench clearing brawls" actually meant the players were throwing punches. Today's game, (just like everything else in our world) is too pacified. I guess there is just too much money to lose, if one of your best player's happens to bleed a little for the game he loves to play. And what are the guys in the bullpen going to do?! Run across the field the hopes to keep the peace from a so called "brawl"? A whole lot of jaw jacking, posturing, and that's it. Lame.

I love baseball, play it every other day, but one of the most petty things in sports in intentionally hitting batters. I understand Marisnick injured Lucroy, but the logic of "I'm gonna throw this at his head", mind you it is thrown at an average of 90. That can kill someone.
