Yeah I'm getting the impression that this game lacks subtlety and that can be a pretty big issue if you want a full horror game. Edit: Like yeah see how mark immediately is so much less scared when he realizes its just ambient. They had the opportunity to make a genuinely scary experience but instead its just like... weird red light green light?

They could've atleast made him walk past or just appear near the hiding place the player uses. It's literally just stomping and ink demon burps. After the first few times it's not even scary anymore

I wish we saw more of him tbh. The first game had him walking out from walls which was nice. This game barely feels like you're even being hunted by him, you're basically just given about 10 seconds to run and hide or he ends your game with a scripted kill sequence. Also I believe he was always called the ink demon even in the first game? Maybe because the people inside the cycle don't know of his origin but there was definitely some kind of distinction I recall.

Yeah I also liked the old chase mechanic! Scared the shit out of me o-o

@@TheDropdeadZed I think its bc the pathfinding has a tendancy to fuck up, and the ink demon would be a lot less scary if he got caught on corners. The current system does add to the feeling of him being able to come and get you from anywhere also, he is usually called the ink demon in batim but i think sammy calls him bendy a couple times

Matpat's downfall was that he tried cover one or two pokemon when Mark's catalogue covers a wide variety of kinks that are difficult to condense.

To be fair, MatPat should have also taken into consideration the characteristics of the Pokémon that Mark had the strongest reactions to - hooded eyes, long legs, curvy/sleek builds, feminine overtones, nearly human-sized... The Pokémon he commissioned were, on top of being way too much of condensed shortstacks, didn't follow most of these trends. In fact, the "joke" one was the closest that he got! 😂

The Gent Lockers onlly allow you to take a few items per key; it's not a glitch. Mind you, this is usually worth less than the components of the key, but if your trying for every collectable you need to use them, because some of these lockers have notes and a Gent Pipe blueprint.

@@arlenfreeman3439 it lets you grab all of the items... however if there are stuff like tapes or schematics in then you have to grab them first. Mark collected all of the items but because the tape is not programmed to make the locker close along with all of the other items then the locker closed.

Yes but thats not a full explanation of this particular phenomenon. Clearly they have a workaround to that because the head does cast a shadow if you get far enough away. It just for some reason breaks when you get too close to a wall.

The reason Audrey's appendages disappear when she gets close to walls that have light cast on them is to allow shadows to properly cast on what she's holding, in this case, the wumping stick

Well, the ink demon isn't physically wandering around the level anymore, so the screen becoming coated in ink is basically the same thing

I know I'm late, but I hate how weird the ink demon roaming mechanic is. The first game was much better and a lot more nerve-racking.

I think it's more that the light only projects shadows on objects that are a certain distance from the source of the light, so as he moves away from it the light stops seeing each part of his body and they just start unloading. Something like that, I dunno.

I'm pretty sure that fan was designed not to show a shadow but instead of being gradual it just takes chunks off of ya
