Benedict☆Cumberbatch read Ode to a nightingale by John Keats.
a danza y canción provenzal y a soleada alegría!
y mi boca de púrpura teñida;
y sacude el temblor postreras canas tristes;
donde la juventud, flaca y pálida, muere;
y esas desesperanzas con párpados de plomo;
y, en torno, aquel enjambre de estrellas, de sus Hadas;
No habrá gentes hambrientas que te humillen;
por el emperador, antaño, y por el rústico;
por las extrañas mieses se detuvo, llorando;
¿Despierto? ¿Estoy dormido?

I love the sound of his voice and he reads with such emotion! I really wish he would record more audiobooks and poems. I prefer reading books myself but I love listening to poetry out loud, especially when the reader puts so much heart into it as he did with this one.

I want an episode of Sherlock were Sherlock is reading this poem to himself while lounging in the sitting room, and John lerks behind the door letting Sherlock's voice unravel John's entire world. Throughout the duration of this impromptu recital, John realizes that his life truly began with meeting Sherlock. This .....wonderful detective, no, man gave John his purpose in life. The young doctor wipes away a tear as the poem comes to a close, and with that tear, John finally understood what his heart was trying to tell him. With that single tear, John knew that his dear Sherlock is the love of his life.

oh my God, the most beautiful poem I have ever heard about the timeless beauty of nature. I feel this way all the time. There is something sacred and profound in nature that many humans have forgotten. This poem opens my eyes and my soul. Sometimes I wish I could live forever in that beautiful dream, but harsh reality always creeps back in. Life is both sad and joyful. To hear Benny speak this with such meaning and heartache, my soul was lifted up and I also cried! Stunning!

Every word lingers in my mind. Benedict's voice is so gentle. So calm. This is most beautiful poem ever written. Oh John Keats, you are amazing.

That was beautiful. Some people just read poetry, others, like Benedict, FEEL it. He put emotion into it, used inflection where it was needed, and ultimately made this poem even more of a piece of art than it was before. Absolutely stunning, I was completely entranced.

His voice, like a deep lake, drowns me. With the first few words, my soul escapes me, renders me helpless. Nothing makes me more vulnerable than this reading, with his voice cutting into my heart. What a pity I shall live and die longing to hear his voice close to me, see him in the flesh.

Benedict Cumberbatch can turn my brains to complete mush. LOL I should be sleeping right now (it's about 2:45a and I have to wake up at 5a). Up paying bills and listening to things on youtube. Thought this looked interesting. Clicked on it. Got so enthralled by listening to Benedict Cumberbatch that by the time the video was over I had completely forgot what I was doing. Had to stop and really think about what I had been doing.

I did NOT take my eyes off his until the video had ended, and near the end when he started fading away I actually reached out as if he was really there. ;( Oh what I'd do to meet, you even for 5 minutes, and the second you left I would have myself shot. I would do ANYTHING just to be able to come face-to-face with him for AT LEAST 5 minutes.
