Thanks for the video. I made the shampoo. In additon to using the shampoo I used a conditioner and my thinning hair looked absolutely healthy and shiny.

You could put the soap nut liquid in foaming bottle so you can control where you put the soap on hair to avoid getting in eyes and another by sink in bathroom and kitchen to wash hands . I use foaming btls for my organic lavender castle soap to shower with saves on amount you use to in foam form with a pump at a time.

afrocarib3TTB Thanks for the suggestion! last time I used this I got it in my eyes and burn them so bad and caused some swelling. I was afraid to use them again but that's such a good idea.

GREAT video! Thank you so much for all the good information. I have recently started looking for alternatives to shampoos and cleansing conditioners, because I dye my gray roots with henna and indigo. In order to allow the dye to last longer and not have to dye as frequently, I can't use shampoos, not even sulfate free ones. They still strip my hair enough to remove the natural henna and indigo dye from my hair. Your presentation and good information about soap nuts is a definite way to cleanse my hair without stripping its natural oils and the henna/indigo dye. Thank you :)

cool Video, Queen🌹. i make and sell african botanical products, including a line based on the soapberry. if you ever wanna preserve it a little longer add a little citric acid and high tocopherol level vitamin e. both they sell at the local health food stores, and toss it in a mason jar. will last a while. stay Beautiful👑

Thanks so much for the enthusiastic and informative video on soap nuts. I bought the powdered form, thinking it would be easier than boiling the nuts, only to get hung up on how to make shampoo from the powder! I wish I'd just bought the nuts.. but I'm finally gonna just go for it and make some and see how it goes! I'm pretty terrified about getting it in my eyes though - love your warning about that! I NEVER get my bs/acv in my eyes so it really shouldn't be any different but I've read in many blogs how bad it is if it happens! Anyway, thanks for your great video!

I love this video.... I have used Soapnut powder mixed with equal amounts of Zizyphus Spina Christi, Shakaiki, and Neem Powder. I mixed in a few other natural ingredients with the powders and WOW,, my hair is left so soft, super shiny, and strong. And my scalp always feels amazing. I will try the whole soapnuts too..... Thanks for sharing this. :)

Wonderful and informative. I used soap nuts to wash my natural hair years ago and loved it. But I'm lazy so I bought henna sooq's soap nut cleansing bar and used it. It is amazing also! But I now have Sisterlocks. Completely forgot all about soap nuts until a couple of days ago bc I was looking for a way to remove everything possible in my hair before going completely no-poo. My locs are super shiny! I'm about to make a video and refer my viewers to your channel. I see no loc wearers benefiting from soap nuts on RU-vid so I'm hoping this will change. My hair feels fabulous!

So informative & helpful!! I just got my very first batch of soap nuts in the mail the other day & I've done a few loads of laundry with them. So far, so good, but now I'm ready to try some other uses. I made some of the liquid last night & I will use it as shampoo today. I forgot to refrigerate it so I hope it's still good. Thanks so much for your video!

Where do you get soap nuts
@psalms1452011

...and they're gluten free! 😂😂😂
@saxyroxy736
@saxyroxy736 5 лет назад
corn and gluten free, and dairy free. It's soooooooo hard to avoid corn. corn's in milk, grains, meat, washed, sprayed, waxed or fertilized fruits and veggies, and eveyrthing in the grocery store and beyond.

Another tip is that you can pour the cooled down solution into a blender to activate the foam
@Debsterism
@Debsterism 3 года назад
Yeah, but it doesn't make it clean your hair any better, it wastes the blender, and any leftover will be foam less anyway. That's a psychological thing from shampoo.

I just made some and didn't get that super foam that I saw in some videos. I also forgot to check the PH. You just fixed both my disappointments.

Fabulous video! Thanks so much.I watched another video where they put the liquid coming from the nuts into the blender. Do you know the difference between blending the liquid and not blending it?
@Debsterism
@Debsterism 8 лет назад
I see no reason to dirty up a blender when shaking the container has the same effect.
@cfoster6804
@cfoster6804 5 лет назад
Blending it creates a very fluffy foam that you can't get from just shaking. Using it as a foam will help you avoid getting it in your eye.
@Debsterism

All you have to do is hold your head back. It will drain down and back instead of down and forward. Blender is still clean on the shelf. lol

Can you use aloe vera with this shampoo ...and how do you preserve it?
@Debsterism
@Debsterism 8 лет назад
If you add a bit of aloe, you need to use it all at once. There are no preservatives in this, which is the whole point. Make just enough to use in no more than 3-4 days, and keep it refrigerated.

would anyone out there have a recipe for soap nut solid shampoo bars?

When you use this have you noticed any detox period, like your hair being extra oily? I have naturally thin oily hair and when I tried the baking soda/ vinegar rinse I had a long detox period (very greasy before settling down), but after a year+ of using it had to stop (my ends were splitting). This sounds like a great alt. but I'd love a heads up if I need to worry about detoxing. Or maybe a slight adjustment to the recipe if needed. Thanks so much.

No, my hair was perfect. It's perfectly pH balanced.

What is the shelf life of this shampoo? Can you refrigerate it ?
@Debsterism
@Debsterism 3 года назад
It will keep in the refrigerator for a week or more in the deep part of your refrigerator. It does not really have a "shelf life" since it has no preservatives in it.

Do you need to deep condition after washing hair with soap nut?
@Debsterism
@Debsterism 8 лет назад
Not usually, but if you are in a super hot or dry climate, you would want to deep condition every month or so regardless. With soap nuts what you don't really need is an after shampoo conditioner.
