I have only been taking this for about 2 weeks so all I can offer are my initial impressions which are positive. After a recent high calcium score in my arteries, I decided to make significant reductions to my diet to greatly reduce or eliminate when posssible refined sugar and grain products. I also intermittent fast with meals generally between noon and 7 pm. I have dropped about 12 lbs since starting. Now, my significant diet changes alone certainly would have led to most of my weight reduction. But my impression so far is that the berberine makes me feel more full and sustains that feeling almost until the next meal. My cravings for the sugar/carbs do not seem as strong as before when I had been intermittent fasting alone. I am taking two 500 mg capsules as in the study and I fortunately I have had no other side effects than reduced hunger. For me that is a big plus as it makes it easier for me to simply eat less yet not feel hunger or a desire to binge on treats occasionally. If this holds true over the coming months, then I'll be really happy as it could make it easier to keep the weight off which by itself would drive general health improvements. If there is a reduction in arterial plaque levels at the rates noted in this study that would be wonderful. Time will tell.

@davidroush1224
@davidroush1224 7 месяцев назад
@@nerychristian I /realized that my low sugar/glycemic index foods was essentially the keto diet so I used more of thos meal plans and have kept it up. I continued to lose weight - 12 lbs in the original post is now almost 50 lbs.The berberine helped me get through the initial week or two if carb cravings, but after that on keto you stop craving them anyway. I think the keto diet deserves the credit here and I plan to stick with it. I still will probably keep taking the Berberine just in case it is later shown to have a positive effect then I would have been making progress. Time and futre scans will tell but I think the most important thing is locing significant weight first so I am on a good path so far. If nothing else, I feel so much better - fewer joint pains, easier to exercise. We hiked for10 days in Utah about 2 months ago and it was easier than any similar trips in the last 20 years s so definitlly some positives.

@davidroush1224
@davidroush1224 7 месяцев назад
@@nerychristian Thanks - I will occasionally do several days of carinvore. Keto and some balance across food groups is easy for me so far since my wife will also do keto and helps to both eat the same things. We are both slowly losing weight so just taking it easy and doing this seems sustainable for the long term. I watched a video last week comparing keto and carnivore. An evolving subject, but in the end it sounds like either diet may provide benefits, the key seems mostly related to the weight loss. Glad to hear that carnvivore has helped you as well. Again. no idea if berberine will do this, just figured it is mostly likely harmless even if not so I decided it worth trying. Likewise, may you have a good. long and blessed life.

Mike, thank you so much for all you do with this channel. I'm convinced that if our "healthcare system" wasn't actually just a "disease management system" but was legitimately meant to support and foster good health, it would have long ago looked into and clinically studied traditional diets and medicines from around the world to see what legitimately works and what doesn't, and would standardize and promote what it finds to be efficacious and healthful. Sadly, all it's about anymore is pushing artificial, mass-produced, pill-shaped (or injection ready) chemical toxins that treat symptoms while also destroying a plethora of other systems throughout the body, and sometimes even damaging mental health and inducing self-harm ideation. Our "healthcare" system is sick to the core, and we really need to do all we can to fix it.

Bigfarma cannot make a patent on plant-based medicines. So instead, they synthesize the chemical compounds found in plants, like salicylic acid from willow bark, using petrol-based building-block atoms. The problem is that you can't get rid of the atomic stamp of petrol, and this is why all of these drugs have so many side effects. Basically, they have totally left out the agricultural component. ♥️🏋️

I’m just one year past a silent ‘widow maker’ heart attack, caused by 1 artery 99% blockage, treated with installation of a stent and high doses of drugs like statins, anti platelets, beta blockers, etc. I had awful side effects from the statins so I just stopped those and I’ve gotten the others drugs vastly reduced. Just spoke to my cardiologist yesterday and he’s said I will need to stay on the ticagrular, an anti-platelet’ medication that you’re mentioning here today as being a cause of increased plaguing. I can’t tell you how deceived I feel, knowing these drugs are creating a lifetime of income for these medical people at seniors’ expense. Thank you for providing this information publicly. I’ve got insulin that whole metabolic syndrome and I started a keto diet a few weeks ago. I’m going for my 1 year blood panel, and another heart imaging test. Then, I’ll be weaning off off the ticagrular and getting ON the berberine. Without his permission if necessary.

Thank you for this video! I've taken Berberine for several years. I'm really glad to know it's even better than I had thought. Berberine with Bitter Melon Experience: Bitter tastes at the end of a meal provoke a reaction that I feel in my gut. Once, I made a cup of tea with a capsule of Bitter Melon and a capsule of Berberine, and I drank it after the meal had "settled." I was experiencing a craving of sorts for something more , possibly because the stomach had just emptied. Instead of having a desert, I drank my tea and got a sort of whiskey shudder that lasted awhile--resolving with warm sensations that spread throughout my gut. This makes me wonder if tastes signal biochemical reactions in the body to prepare to receive that which is swallowed. Perhaps the taste of "bitter herbs" can amplify their beneficial effects. For me, the right time for the tea is after a satisfying meal, just when I might have an urge to get some dessert. And I doubt just swallowing the capsules to avoid the "bad taste" would do the same thing.

Limit or avoid as best you can, saturated fats & all packaged, processed foods & manufactured seed oils. Interesting question. I would think clotting risk depends on type of plaque - soft vs. hard (calcified). I one has soft plaque, which would be under some hard, then if hard plaque is reduced- I would think that raises clot risk. My challenge with these studies is the never classify the type of plaque.
