Hello everyone, today i bring the community build for the assassin rogue build which has turned out to be AMAZING!! this build is probably hands down the best assassin build, made by all of you randomly which blows my mind. This build is the essence of what an assassin rogue is, huge burst, stealthy and striking from the shadows, but vulnerable if you slip up.
This build uses death blow as it's main opener to literally one shot almost anything. You have mark of death with hidden blades for huge combos. One thing to note, is you can swap between the hidden blade upgrades weather you're vs a boss or just a pack of mobs.

mmejia1 I would say swap it when you get to a boss though as it costs no points to swap upgrades, but yeah the AoE upgrade is epic!

Looks very cool! You hinted at a low-level and mid-level version of this - I would love to see that! I have an assassin rogue that just reached skyhold that I'm trying to figure out what to do with her and haven't found anything I like: I'm not good enough to maneuver around for an melee AA build, and an archer build is boring. This looks like a much easier (and fun) melee build!

David Scott Unfortunately you'll have to wait a while for the low + mid level build as I've got a ton of work on top of Christmas of course :) check out my low level rogue build as it goes up to sky hold with a good mid game build. hope that helps for now, glad you enjoyed the video and like the build :D

EmceeSchw3pp3 I'm currently working on a low level mage build. I do have a low level rogue build you can follow and then respec into this build after lol 12 or so. hope that helps for now :)

If only we’d known back then that hidden blades is a cross class detonator... sigh. Knockout Bomb -> hidden blades decimates mobs.

Well, Knockout Bomb and Hidden Blades are both in the same skill tree, which is awesome, so it's not that bad that you didn't know.

Would it be possible to use a similar build with the other Specialisation. Like some-sort of DOT build with the Sabotage Tree Mix. Just an idea for another video. I would recommend the Artificer Skill Tree due to Mines being a good skill for damage over time stuff xD Loved the video btw dude !!Looking forward to the next one !!

Hello StarFlorge (i hope you answer me). I'm actually using this build to my main character with some changes since i'm playing with a group. I'd like to know if you could give me some ideas or builds to my group. I'd like to use 1 tank, 1 dps and 1 support mage (with some CC magics), Blackwall or Cassandra? I used blackwall in mas last 120 hours gameplay and i didn't like him when out of combat (RPG mode), Cassandra seems a heavy personality NPC, i don't know about to her a good AI build. I'd like to use Sera/Varric/IronBull to DPS, i don't know who yet, and a good support pure AI mage build, CC necromancer? Dorian.

Hi. Awesome to hear you're using the build and changed it to your own liking. in terms of AI Blackwall is 100% the best tank but Cassandra can work. make sure to take shield wall and then all in the vangard tree and the battle master tree. the Insane necromancer CC build i made would work very well as AI just make sure to take barrier though. As you are playing a melee i would say take Sera/Varric as an archer. I hope that helps out a bit.

Chaos Draco Should be :) with this build you should have 100% crit from stealth so hidden blades hits tons.

Hi, thanks for the video. I know what I want to be when I grow up. Currently, I've pumped up my Crit chance to 100% but I see that you are focusing on Crit Damage, Am I doing it wrong?

As an assassin, you don’t need Crit Chance because the assassin tree has a talent/perk that makes attacks from stealth crit

+CynicalDonut The best way is to get hidden blades first then get what you need into the stealth tree. After that go for the death blow and then finish off the assassin tree and last getting the toxic cloud. I hope that helps

The whole point of this build is the promise of you able to one shot at least one guy at every strike so that you can keep sapmming stealth. That means, you could face some difficult situations with work softly trial on with this build since every time you face some small group of enemies, the one with f tone of guard always remains the last waiting for you to deal with it. Overall, assassin can throw some serious One Punchman style stirke but can be kind of useless against the enemies actually able to endure that hard punch.

Sogazu well this build uses spells that can deal with them situations very well, and I think the combat shows that off a bit when I mess up or don't get a one shot. you can have elusive stacks, put enemies to sleep and also evade away. Whenever I've messed up with build I've always been able to recover :)

StarFlorge I can see that Elusive stacks can be a life saver but the problem is, like I stated, even if you survive the last one of the horde (two handed hammer wielder or shielded one with walk softly in Froastback Basin for instance), it would be quite boring and tedious to actually kill it because since it's the last enemy, there's no way you can reset your cooldown and when Flank attack cooldown actually runs out, there's huge chance it already gains its guard or barrier back. I think assassin lacks means to burst out damage dealing unlike the other two counterparts.

+Sogazu the assassin has one of the best burst, I've crit 30+k. So in the video I did 3 shot someone with a guard spam. But yes this build is not for someone who likes fast paced game play. It's very slow at times but I know ow some people like that :)

Pedro Lyra Can't remember the name of the exact ones but the gear you need for this is as much crit damage as you can with basically 0 crit chance. so get all the crit dmg and dexterity stats you can. Hope that helps :)

I was wondering... how does this build compare to the all famous OP artificer archer? I mean with the bear thing encreasing your stamina and thus increase the mines to insane amounts? From the looks it is way more defensive... but artificer looks pretty devastating while not getting hit much either. I am pretty new the the game... and still can't really decide what subclass or even class to pick. Is there a reason why you prefer DW over archer? Is assassin better at the current patchlevel then artificer in your eyes? The mages seem to be more supportive then in DA2... CC, Barrier etc. just overall they seem to be slow killing stuff compared. Or what is your opinion. Ahhh and btw... cool videos awesome narration! Keep up the good work!

Inaliss Well I am soon to try a new artificer build, but in my eyes they are on a similar level, artificer is more sustainable where as assassin is almost all burst so I think it's just opinion which you prefer. I prefer DW as I think the duel dagger spells are more effective but remember never have a DW ai controlled character xD Mages are weak in terms of damage in this dragon age and are basically CC machines as well as the main support. I hope that covers it all, ask more if you want :) Glad you enjoy the videos, I'll do my best :D

Jonahnator The Random Gamer depends what set up you want but in general get blackwall as main tank, have Varic or Sera as archer, and then either another mage like solas for support (barrier, dispel, revive) or a second tank. hope that helps :)

They are both very very good builds, although I think this build might take the win. It's just got more all round potential and the chance to one shot large packs. This build i would say is mainly better as it is just so consistent. I hope that helps.

are u sure u use a craftable weapon in DA:I? because even when using stone talker with 619 dps (w/ superb demon rune), it still can't reach your "core" damage.

I am using weapons from a mod but against not late game mobs too so my damage might be slightly higher. Also i don't use a superb demon rune as the dps increase only affects demons, it's best to use something like a lightning rune that I use and i bet you will get some more damage from that. The daggers I use also only have a small damage increase so although you wont reach the damage i'm sure with stone stalker blades and the gear etc to go with it you can get very close.

i see you used a lot of "cheats" to get perks and stuff. but is the gear you using legit or did you tweek anything? meaning can u actually w/o cheats get to where u at?

powduron Yeah I have just so I can make the build however all the gear is 100% obtainable and the amount of skill points is obtainable. In some builds I have used modded weapons that aren't much stronger however I am using them less. So the quick answer is anyone can get where I'm at :) hope that clears things up.

Just aim for as much crit damage % for gear with a high base damage weapon. There isn't any specific best gear just what ever gives the most crit damage % hope that helps.

is this build good on AI? I love switching between characters but I much prefer DW to range rogue so if it would be possible to pull this off DW that would be amazing. I play nightmare with the trials that scale the enemy's level and promotes some on. I can also add guard on hit since I have fade touched Silverite

Brandon Monsen It's hard to tell cause DW rogues ai isn't that great. however if before a fight make sure to top the character up with elusive stacks and they should be fine running around as an ai. Also try make abilities like stealth and evade preferred spells so the AI might try to live so you can controlled them when you want. hope that helps

I get my points from mods so that i can make all these videos, and ages ago i used an ability points exploit glitch. but i make sure 99% of my builds can be achieved without mods. Glad you enjoyed the video, hopefully i'll be back to making videos soon and thanks for the sub :)

when you get to skyhold and chose a specialization you need to chose assassin. Once you do the quest line and unlock the assassin tree you can get hidden blades.

Guys why my hidden blades ( with the Overkill ) is not giving all hits on crit even with the Knife in the Shadows? I play with DW assassin and my hidden blades only do 2 or 3 hits on crit. The skill is bugged or lacks cunning/crit chance?

Pedro Lyra It could be bugged. do you have the passive for 100% crit in stealth? that's what I use to get all hits as a crit. if you do have it and you're using hidden blades from stealth then annoyingly it would be bugged.

Pedro Lyra Really sorry I don't know the fix cause I've never had the bug. some bugs can be fixed by removing mods or going back to an earlier save, but they might not work. sorry I can't be of more help.

toxic cloud seems utterly pointless since you can just take the poison upgrade the makes enemies burst into clouds on killed

The reason you take toxic cloud pretty much every rogue build is the elusive stacks work on the poison clouds made by killing enemies. Therefore you never use toxic cloud but still gain elusive stacks which are Vital! to rogues. I hope that makes sense

@@tjs1212 Late reply, but for others that might read this. Yes. Elusive works without Toxic Cloud on the action bar. I do this with Sera all the time. She hits with poisoned weapons, the enemy dies, and spreads a mist that I can reset my elusive stack in. I don't ever have her actually use the TC ability.

"Rogue" type of characters were always my #1 in every RPG game. And in DAI they are made quite spectacular don't you agree? By the way I love rogue in DA2 as well, the damage you could do was absurd

I cannot remember 100% about the weapons but I do know the armour and hat - The armour is "Stone Stalker Coat Schematic" from the decent dlc and the hat is the "Superior Skirmisher Hat Schematic"

Yeah it's on my old laptop, the graphics were low. All videos are always 30 fps rendered but with a bad computer it was bad lag + that 30 fps. new videos will be much better with my PC :D

It's a loot trick you can do on a house in Crestwood I think. You take the necklace taht contains a single skill point and leave at least one thing inside, then you travel and come back to take a new respawned necklace.

A time ago, I made a bow assassin build that from time to time could make almost 150k on a single hit every 30 seconds and the rest could be 20k- 50k per hit. But it was mostly based on stealth and keeping me safe from getting hit. I was able to win large fights without enemies even noticing I was there. But I pretty much cheated, I used the Crestwood skill point trick and unlocked everything, then started to mess around.

the throwing knifes + hidden blades opener combo is still stronger. toxic cloud is literaly a waste, because a good assassin build is in stealth pretty much all the time because of flank attack with skirmisher upgrade. so while this build certainly looks fun, i don't think it's the best assassin build mainly because toxic cloud is a waste on an assassin.

Darokar Tevir Well this wasn't my idea, it was a community build made by suggestions. And if you go play a assassin on nightmare with trials especially at low level you're killed easily so the elusive stacks are actually really helpful :) And as always you can take these builds and change them to your liking :D

U think thats insane use theses abilities 1. death blow lvl2 2. stealth lvl2(of course) 3. Twin fangs lvl2 4. Mark of death(DO NOT UPGRADE IT) 5. Knock out bomb lvl2 (also pick up the passive mercy killing it makes knock out bomb highly effective) 6. Hidden blades lvl2 7.flank lvl2 8.parry lvl2

Why do none of these kinds of videos ever show the weapon builds? I have all T4 gear, T4 materials, stacked with dex and crit damage and the same skills and can't do anywhere near that damage, in any video.

It is still very good, the gear i used made the kills overkill, doing more damage than i needed, so if i had slightly worse gear i'd still probably one shot most things.

Are you sure you mentioned the word insane enough times? Like 4 to 5 times per minute (especially early on so viewers stay for your needlessly overstretched video that's long for no other reason than your income) doesn't seem to be enough these days, because I hear you trying to use it more often than that.

I didn't intend of doing that i was just really excited for the build as the community made it. I really dont do this for income seen as i do uni and have work this entire summer. RU-vid was always for fun and any profits I make - which isn't a lot. I try to put back in the community hence why i've done 2 giveaways and plan for more. Not quite best. Knockout bomb is garbage on nightmare difficulty as many enemy types are immune to it. PS: I've stalked your channel for some time and to date i still haven't seen you post a video where you make a 'best in slot' kind of build for any class... get your game up man, and use cheats more carefully, it feels cheesy seeing your lvl 12 rogue skilled for high level.. PS2: Naming this build 'best' is what triggered me.

Ninja Well funny how this game play where Knockout bomb is useful is on nightmare so obviously it is a good spell to use xD I've been planing a best in slot video for a while it's just a bit hard than normal on top of work finding time to do a big task is hard. Also this is a lvl12 so I can show off the late game build without waiting weeks. cause with work I can't spend that much time leveling anymore. In my opinion so far this is very highly possibly the best assassin build. hope you find fun in this video as the community build it was meant to be.
