Try this delicious corned beef and cabbage recipe. It’s super easy to make, especially if you’re using canned corned beef. The vinegar and Worcestershire give the dish a nice zing, and it’s a terrific comfort food that’s filling without requiring a ton of ingredients. Ingredients for Corned Beef and Cabbage Recipe
12oz canned CORNED BEEF
1 small CABBAGE
1 large ONION
1 large CARROT
3-4 cloves GARLIC
2-3 Tbsp VINEGAR
2 Tbsp WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE
1 tsp CARAWAY SEEDS
1 Tbsp dried HERBS
SALT and PEPPER to taste
OIL for cooking
How to make Corned Beef and Cabbage
Heat oil on medium heat in a large, heavy bottomed pot.
Add in chopped onions. Sauté onions for about five minutes.
Season onions with salt, pepper, and herbs.
Add in garlic and sauté for another minute.
Add in the cabbage and carrots and continue to cook on medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add in the Worcestershire sauce and vinegar and mix well.
Reduce the heat to medium low and let cook uncovered until much of the water has cooked out of the dish. Stir occasionally.
While cabbage continues to cook, open canned corned beef and cut into slices.
Heat a skillet on medium high heat and then sear the beef until well browned on each side. Then cut beef into smaller pieces.
When cabbage has reached desired doneness, add in the seared beef and toss lightly.
Serve hot.

i watched about 10 recipes on how to make this and ive chosen yours to make today. the fact that you fry the corned beef first is what sets your recipe apart.

Worcestershire Sauce is my secret weapon in the war against boring food. Thanks, CB and CG! I love cabbage, and I will definitely pick up some canned corned beef and give this recipe a try. As a single person, I'm always looking for savory concoctions I can cook in quantity, refrigerate, and stretch over several meals. BTW, Camera Girl, I also nosh on the cabbage core while prepping!

I don't get the cabbage core thing...it's CG's favorite part of a cabbage and she'll lean against the counter and eat it raw like she's at the county fair eating a treat

Just a tip from the UK - Add the Worcestershire Sauce to the corned beef and not to the cabbage mix... The corned beef absorbs the flavour more and it just 'works better', I'm not sure why, but it does? 🇬🇧

I love your recipes and the way you explain them. One of my favorite things you do is when you kind of swoop down and come up at CG and add a comment. It makes me smile every time. I read someone's comment that you "make their saturdays" and I couldn't agree more!! God bless you and beautiful camera girl and may we be blessed with many more of your videos. Also, looking forward to more traveling videos. Its so awesome watching you do your magic in random spaces and making the best of what is around.

Thanks...that's a super kind comment...we really appreciate you watching. I've got a few more Mexico vids to edit together, and I still visit the Trustedhousesitters site everyday looking for places we might apply for a house sit, but we're pretty limited on the range that we're interested in traveling nowadays. We've actually got a week-long housesit coming up in a October, but it's just a short drive away from where we're currently staying...it'll make a nice change of scenery though.

We lived (and sailed overseas) on a small yacht in the '60's and corned beef was a staple - no engine so no fridge so tinned was it. Haven't eaten it since but this recipe is actually tempting me!!

HEY chef Buck, my family is Puerto Rican and many of us Puerto Ricans eat corn beef with French fries and white rice. You should try it. We simply peel and cut potato into French fries and then we remove the french fries and keep a little bit of the oil in the pan from the french fries, then we throw the corn beef in the pan, we season it with Goya brand Sazon, then we add a little bit of the Goya sofrito, mix it together then throw in the french fries & mix it again and all done. Just take a plate and either put the corn beef mix on the side or on top of the rice. Try it, its amazing. Im sure if there are other Puerto ricans 🇵🇷 in the comments they will know what im talking about.

Hi & greetings from Worcestershire England! I have just sat down after preparing and eating this dish and I had to say it was delicious! Instead of using a cup of water I put a vegetable stock cube in otherwise I did mine pretty much the same as yours. My cabbage was a bit big too so I only used half. Great meal idea thanks and scrummy comfort food!

April 19,2023 I used your Recipe with some adjustments. I added a bag of coleslaw mix instead of cabbage and carrots cut up. A fresh onion, and minced garlic, along with the other ingredients in your recipe. I got too far ahead and put in the can of corn beef before searing it, next time I’ll wait and do that. But I also added some rice to it because we like rice with everything and it taste delicious.

I almost passed this week's video by because I've already been making a similar dish that Paula Deen made when she was on the Food Channel many years ago. I'm glad I watched and learned to sear the meat first separately. Brilliant! The dish is super inexpensive and easy to make but there was always something missing. So now I'm going to try it your way. 😋
@ChefBuckRecipes
@ChefBuckRecipes 3 года назад
I've tried a few times to make the dish all in one pot cooking everything together, but I just like it better when I add the meat at the end after I've cooked a lot of the water out of the cabbage...the texture and flavor of the meat just stands out more. In this vid, I sear the meat and then cut it in the pan so I've got some nice chunks, but then when I toss the meat with the cabbage, it still breaks apart a bit with the cabbage. One way I like to prepare this dish, is to actually make compact "meatballs" before searing them. Rolling the meat into balls takes a little more time, and the recipe practically tastes the same, but the dish looks a lot nicer.

Rummaged around and found a large tin of Hereford Corned Beef Hash. Really browned the hash and soaked up all the grease I could with paper towels. Made the rest like you suggested...it's a keeper receipt! Will have to get a couple cans of plain corned beef, but the hash worked great (ps, I did use 3 T apple cider vinegar...yummm) Thanks.

Used to eat this as a kid, but it also had potatoes in it. So good.

Yum this looks good. I love the veges cooked like that and agree I don't like mushy meat. And meat with a crispy texture is the best. I gotta try this. I've only had c b brisket slow cooked along with the cabbage, carrots and potatoes.....how mama did it.

Looks delicious and simple to throw together....... unique use of corned beef too......I’m going to try this and probably use chicken broth instead of water for added flavor!

It's 4:30am here, but I would eat this for breakfast (or lunch or dinner). Love the garlic and "W sauce"! The only thing bothering me is that wicked can. I was traumatized by one and bad memories linger! I know you explained it in the past, but it is, what it is! This recipe is definitely on my list to make in October! TFS, hi CG, and you two stay safe!🌈🌈🌈

My aunt modified that recipe by adding in small chunks of potatoes, use coke as the liquid and a touch of chili. A sweet, salty, spicy combo all in 1 meals. My cousin cooks the potatoes separately in broth then adds it near the end of the cooking.. so they flavors meld some but with the broth in it, its a bit dif flavor.. My grandma was raised by German mother and Scotland pa. Imagine that mix of food... my aunt learned from them too...
