A quick followup, Heomaito ended up revising the PN to the 4300iD instead of 3500iD. They did this as it had a lot of headroom and easily exceeded its ratings per my review. They also did an inverter firmware tweak with the 4300 which helps keep the overload indicator from flashing early when it is still producing clean power. Same outpu - Confirmed with Heomaito, it is the SAME generator, with the SAME inverter, just a slight rev in overload and protection set points. This review applies to both models.
In this video, I take a VERY in-depth look at the new Heomaito HMT3500iD Inverter Generator (Senci is the CM). This is a long video with a lot of content on this new model generator from a new company. Hang in if you are interested in purchasing. This generator is dual fuel so it runs on gas OR propane! It can produce more power than the Predator 3500 and weighs less than 1/2. This is a feature packed generator that is easy to haul around. It is also very compact, same general size as most 2200w generators so it takes up little space. A total win for your Travel Trailer, RV or general camping / boondocking. It also would be a rockstar for general use! It will handle anything you would or could want in a generator in this output class.
This Video Review Covers:
- What's in the box - unboxing (not really, I just show what comes with it)
- Tear-down of the generator to see what is inside and how it is built
- First startup
- Basic upgrades (did not need much)
- First oil change after break-in
- Sound Test
- Load Test
- Plus more!

Great video. Thanks. Something you can do when purging the propane line is to have a digital gas detector handy to tell you when the propane is flowing. Once you get used to purging, whatever, but thinking it may be handy to someone new to this and even just a good safety thing to be in the habit of. You want the line to be fully purged of air, so you will get some air/propane mix as you purge. Say you put the detector on the ground in front of the generator, it will go off once the line is fully purged. Once things are tightened up and and the detector stops beeping, you can pick it up and check for leaks.

I dig it! 8 second ish rule has always worked for me, but I get it. Also, a smart thing to have a portable detector to make sure lines are tight.

Great review video and, of course, the break down to see what's inside, and build quality. it's funny, you basically said everything I was thinking and wondering, from build quality to sound testing vs the Pulsar, vs price point. You are spot on! I've owned my Pulsar for 2 months now and it's been a solid performer, other than the build quality, some components used are subpar, and there are 2 spots rubbing on my outer case, which I have contacted Pulsar about, and await their response. You should look at yours. I'll be it's doing the same thing. I liked you sound test comparison. It was perfect, and actually really interesting! Heomaito is advertising this "fancy" muffler and quiet package, but you are showing that it's basically same the same db as the Pulsar, with the Pulsar actually being a bit quieter low idle no load. You noted that the Pulsar has a lower tone, which seems more pleasant. One concern with the lower vs the higher tone, is the lower tones tend to pass through exterior walls of houses/RV's easier, whereas the higher tones can often can blocked better through walls. So that "droning" sound of a generator running, may often "sound" more annoying with the lower tones. Like you said, the small inverter gen market is constantly evolving on an almost monthly basis it seems. You never know what will come to market next.

@MR_Garage 4 месяца назад
I was thinking the same thing with the low droning. I will have to test with my travel trailer here soon. Makes me wonder if the frequency response is just as low on the Heo as the Pulsar, but the Heo's frequency just extends higher. Only testing will tell (since dB reading was so close, would make sense for a wider frequency range). Or, could just be a difference in pitch / same amplitude but our ears pick up mid-range frequencies easier so it seems louder by tone.

Hi. Thanks for the good review services you are doing. I did use your recommendation and buy my first dual fuel unit. It's first oil change after 45 minutes on gasoline now done. By the way for those interested my bent rod telescopic magnet says iron/steel sleeved cylinder bore. Like the color a lot! Kind'da spruce green. Saves me from less stolen de-attracting overpainting green or brown. And I love the straight up top pulling starting. Just like a chainsaw; brush cutter. NO pull tipping of the unit! The operation manual says this unit will prioritize propane fuel use if hooked up then auto switching over to gasoline running. It does have a carb bowl built on Teed fed propane pressure diaphragm plunger lock out into the gasoline carburetor main jet. Cast marked "hauvaun". The Pulsar unit distinctly is electric plunger gasoline fuel cut-off. Now at 4 hours. No chaffing rub marks. Has an added rubber bumper in the center of the vertical center support for the valve cover movement contact.

Very good post! I liked that you check the cylinder bore material. I will add that to future reviews. That is very important and speaks to the likely longevity of the engine itself. And yeah, the green color I rather like now. At first I did not care for it, but when camping, it blends in nicely and was a good color choice.

I just hook up a 20 pound bottle of propane. Yep-yep. Gasoline in the on-board tank too. Turn on the propane it running switched over from gasoline to propane running. Turn off the propane tank and ~30-45 seconds after the regulator/line run out it running switches back over to gasoline running. Just like the higher priced units now promote. I'm a very happy owner now.@@MR_Garage

Hello, very cool! It's a great gen. Let me know how it does for you. Check the video description for a link to the plug and pn used. I use iridium (ngk or denso) in all of my generators as the fine wire electrode makes them very easy to start, even when wet fouled. They also seem to run smoother. Another benefit is that the plug will last the life of the generator.

Great video! Do you have any experience with the Champion 2500 duel fuel? Anyway, I loved the video and the way you structured your review. Also, I'm really thankful for the heads up on the magnetic dip stick.
@MR_Garage
@MR_Garage 25 дней назад
Much appreciated! The champion 2500 uses the same inverter and engine rotating assembly as the very inexpensive bilt hard I reviewed awhile ago. Same manufacturer but the champion uses a better designed panel with additional features. Also, it is dual fuel which the bilt hard does not offer. I think it would be a fine generator if you chose the champion and will serve you if maintained. For the price and weight, I feel there are better dual fuel options and I would not chose the champion for myself. For about the same price or cheaper, you can get a GD400BN pulsar like this and have a much more powerful generator for only 10lbs more weight. amzn.to/4aOv6C7 Or, my top pick in the 40-50lb range - the heomaito HMT4300iD amzn.to/4e3YVBD

Looks like a nice machine but would like to see a bit more power like the 4000 Pulsar and others. I was looking at the A-iPower 4300iD but no one has done a review like yours. Any chance of you doing a review on the A-iPower 4300iD?
@MR_Garage
@MR_Garage 3 месяца назад
Thanks for the message! So with those ratings, those are the peak numbers. Basically, any generator manufacturer can say what they like with different lab tests and inrush spikes to claim a super high number. VERY misleading. Only pay attention to the running wattage number. This Heomaito gen is rated at 3000W, but has a 3.3kW inverter. In testing, it ran to 3200w without an issue. The 4300iD has a HUGE starting wattage number for some unknown, likely marketing reason but could be legit. Actual rated power is 3450W and 3100 on propane. This Heomaito did 3200w with a resistive load on both gas and propane. Very comparable. Some other things to consider: - Both that a-ipower gen and this are made by the same contract manufacturer - The Heo is lighter because of no wheels or handle to rattle - The Heo is also far less expensive - As mentioned, virtually the same power rating I still would like to get my hands on one of the A-Ipower variants. Should be the same internals but really feels like they fluffed their numbers a bit. I could be surprised though! Not seeing these variants being worth the personal expense at this time and none of these manufacturers have the guts to send me their product because I tear it down and tell it how it is. They generally don't like that!!

Once these units break in, would you recommend the Shell Rotella T6 Synthetic in 5w40? Is there an advantage to sticking with the non synthetic product? Great content, keep it up!
@MR_Garage

If lower temps in your area, yes. 5w40 would be perfectly fine. As hot as these run, I use 15w40 T6 in all my generators, especially since they see summer use here in Az.

Hello, Right now this is my #1 pick overall out of all the generators I have owned and reviewed. Solid machine. Pulsar GD400BN comes in a very close second for less cash but less features (often goes on sale for $499). amzn.to/3Xchnlu Both will serve you well!

Is there a reason you suggest the NGK CR7HIX and not the CR5HIX? Isn't the heat range for this application a 5 and not 7? Does it matter?
@MR_Garage
@MR_Garage 3 месяца назад
It is a good question and I nearly missed it when doing the first crossovers ages ago on these. The torch plug PN actually crosses to a 7 heat range NGK / 22 heat range Denso. Reading the plug after running confirms this. This was later confirmed even in the manuals of several generators calling out the same crossover to non-iridium NGK and other plug types.

Question: My RV has an existing quick connect, low pressure line coming in from the camper’s regulator and tank. Is it possible to install a quick connect gas line to this generator with my existing system without using the provided regulator setup provided by Heomaito? Thanks!
@MR_Garage
@MR_Garage 2 месяца назад
Nope, not that I am aware of. These gens come with rather specific regulators (all I have tested) for their size and output. I do not know how they will behave with another regulator. Best bet is to T off the tank itself with a line dedicated to the generator. Or, just take a 2nd tank specifically for the generator.

I have a Firman dual fuel inverter generator I'm looking to replace with a lighter more portable generator. I modified the Firman to attach to the my RV's low flow valve by removing the regulator and installing a quick connect valve. Works fine so I'm curious to know why you think this modification can't be done on the Heomaito.
