I am a poster child for hypothyroid symptoms and the worst symptom of all is what I call " Alice In Wonderland " syndrome. This is where the workout breaks down muscle tissue, as it always does ( Catabolism ) but the body doesn't have the steroid hormones to build back up ( Anabolism) so it takes 1 day of resting and eating to get back to where you were Before the workout !!! --- One Step Forward, Two Steps Backward !! I hope that seeing an Endocrinologist next month is going to put a dent into this frustrating dilemma. This Video and all of Dr. Gupta's releases are so useful ! Thanks !
Thank you Sir for your expertise and guidance. Walking and swimming 🏊♂️ definitely help and diet support. Minimum stress levels, and good quality sleep patterns. 😊
Thank you for the vedio. I am a thyroid patient. I have all the symptoms which you mentioned. I trying to reduce my weight and doing exercise but weight is increased. So I stopped doing exercise. Now I realized may be I did wrong way.. 😰😰
Same here. Frustrating as hell. I gained 40 lbs. Do cardio and weights seems to eat fairly healthy and gained 4 lb in the last 2 months. Absolutely brain damage
Thank you for the information, Dr.Gupta. Not long ago I wanted to hit back to doing exercising because i myself too have mild hypothyroidism. But i am curious would indoor/stationary cycling count as cardio? And what about hot yoga? It would be greatly appreciated to have your opinion on these exercises i mentioned. And once again thank you for your information. Super helpful. 😃
Sir I exercise everyday , walk 10k almost everyday. I don't consume sugar or processed food. I do eat 2 rotis in dinner ..rest my diet is full of fruits , vegetables, brown rice , all healthy food one can imagine. Still my TSH came to be 6.3! What's going on 😢 In not even overweight. My height is 173 and my weight is 76. I dont do HIIT
I had 5.0 UIU/ML TSH and high cholesterol, sugar and BP. I started walking 8 miles per day and after 10 months my total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglyceride, sugar, BP all became normal. But my TSH gone up to 13 UIU/ML. So walking does not lower your TSH.
Correct. I was walking for 2 months and actually gained weight? My Dr stated that it made my cortisol go up. I do 8lbs weights, resistance bands and Pilates. I lost 12 lbs in 1 and a half. Weights is the way to go, to lose your weight.
I've had burn out issues and my previous warehouse job and gym burnt me out. I trained for a 10 mile race once and was okay providing I only did that exercise, gradually building up from scratch, woth a small amount of cycling. Couple of years ago a gym instructor gave me a 3 different weight, core and HIIT programmes which after a few weeks wiped me out - hours of daytime napping, muscle and joint pain. I'm now training with a 'zero to run' training app, a 3 month program to get me to a comfortable 3 mile run, then aim to add some speed as I get fitter again. As I've recently restarted gym, I was wondering if I'm supposed to do muscle and cardio in one training session, or should they be separate? For example on a Monday I'd do weights, on a Tuesday cardio, then on a Wednesday some core, Thursday cardio, then Friday weights. Or, would I be best doing just 3 days of lower intensity cardio to start with, then adding later adding the weight training to those cardio sessions, with rest days in between!?
Thanks for suggesting cardio as well. there are many influencers and experts on YT suggesting, drop cardio and do strength only. For me personally , I have to do cardio daily and supplement it with strength training..,

Doctor, how about massaging of thyroid gland? Does it work? I heard about this from one ayurvedic doctor massaging thyroid gland daily for a minute morning and evening with any oil. My weight is managed but I have other issues like forgetting things and I’m becoming dark (face especially) now a days. I’m not understanding the reason. And hair fall is another issue. I have one question for you. Why are you not doing online consultation for patients like me out of US? It would help many patients like me and others suffering from this issues. At least that one free call facility. I have booked it once but later I received email saying it is canceled as I’m not from US. Please think about it doctor. Thank you 🙏🏻
