I have been using rice berry face wash at present and it's my 1st time giving feedback on this. I must say it's just created for my skin. My skin is neutral and my mother's dry, so this face wash is fantastic for all skin types. It is the top cleansing face wash for dry skin, plus after washing your face will have a glowing effect. For me, it's an amazing face wash, now I have that natural skin brightness, plus it helps to enhance the face lightening.
Hi Doc! Just found out abt your channel. I'm an avid follower of western "dermtubers" and I'm glad there's someone from here na. Hope you could also do a series of locally available drugstore product recommendations per product type and skin type. Western dermtubers often do that but ofcourse it would be nicer if it came from a local credible professional like you, and also a person who better understands PH's climate, culture, and product availability More powers to you! PS. My go to cleansers for more than a year now are Kose Speedy Cleansing Oil (when i need to do a double cleanse) and Cerave Foaming Cleanser.
Thank you! I know what you mean, that’s actually one of the reasons why I started my channel, because I would also watch Dermatologist youtubers. With regards to product recommendations I would really love to but with all the good brands and products out there baka maging unfair ako if I only focus on a few brands that I know. So what I try to do is to talk about types of products in general and ingredients’ indications and mechanism of action. Occasionally I also talk about skincare issues :) Im super ok and open to topic suggestions though! And thanks for sharing your fave cleanser 🥰☺️

Melasma mejo complex, treatment is a combination of sun protection, lightening creams and in-clinic procedures. May video ako about it pero best parin to consult if you ask me :)

Been wanting to ask you a lot of questions and hoping that one day you will have a separate video on morning and evening skin routine intended for those who are in their 40's and with dry skin. I would say thanks in advance again for that. Anyway, hope you'll find time to answer some of my questions. 1. Would it be okay if I'll use papaine soap as my first cleanser followed by a micellar water? 2. Do I have to double cleanse twice a day? 3. In my case, how often do I need to do some exfoliating?
Dry skin -- gentle cleansers, exfoliants, moisturizers Also, im not a big fan of soaps, and i dont recommend that especially if dry skin ka na to begin with. For specific recos i suggest a proper consultation kc we all have different habits, preferences etc.
Hi, Doc! I have been using Oxecure Gentle Cleanser pH 5.5. I actually want to use it for good, but it just dries my T-zone. I notice na nagta-tight din ang skin ko around it. Ayaw ko naman ding masayang since it is kind of pricey, although reasonable. I only use it na lang in my double-cleansing routine, along with Cetaphil reformulated cleanser. Could you recommend something else, if necessary? I am sick of spending money on cleansers that just take a toll on my skin barrier, huhu. I only want to consider recommendations from board-certified dermatologists like you! Thank you in advance, Doc!
You can use it once a day lng probably at night and no need to double cleanse naman especially if it makes your skin dry. The oxecure cleanser had salicylic acid din kc. if you want u can use the cetaphil in the morning and the oxecure at night. When it comes to cleansers -- it differs for everyone and you really just have to keep trying until you find what works for you. I for one have tried a lot and I do have a few favorites.

I have a video on oily skin care products. However, for specific recommendations i suggest a proper consultation para maassess ng mabuti skin mo and mabigyan ka ng tamang products to use.
If you really need an additional moisturizer maybe one that is water-based or gel-based na lightweight. pwede din lotion. But if youre not naman dry, most (if not all) products we use naman contain moisturizer, baka d mo na kailangan ng additional moisturizer.
If dry skin ka to begin with better stick to cleansers with emollients and walang drying ingredients like SA, tea tree or with hazel. Or baka u also used hot water, that can also dry the skin :)
Hi Dr. Gaile! Sorry to ask here, pero i have dark elbows (due to friction) and been using at least 20% urea for over a year as advised by an online Derm.. It helped in softening the skin naman po but they are still dark.. 😩 Doc, should i just continue using it and/or consider other brightening agents? First you have to identify kung ano ung nakakdarken sa kanya - friction is one- and you have to stop doing it otherwise futile ung attempts mo to lighten it. Urea is a humectant but in higher concentrations keratolytic nakakanipis ng balat at nakaaktulong pero hindi ito nakakalighten. Baka pwede ka gumamit ng urea + lightenting cream

I watched a video related to foaming cleanser saying, "stop using foaming cleanser". She's a doctor too so it's confusing me because you are both a doctor. What about your view doc.? I wanna know if choosing foaming cleanser is really okay.
I use foaming cleansers and they suit my skin well. I think what matters more are the types of surfactants used and whether a particular cleanser suits your skin or not. For instance one with dry, reactive and irritated skin may not be able to tolerate foaming cleansers or bar cleansers, whereas one with oily and acne-prone skin will appreciate foaming cleansers and may even choose cleansers with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. So i dont give blanket statements like that as I acknowledge differences in skin type, issues, habits, exposures, preferences and budget.

Thank you for this very useful vlog! ❤ I have a combination skin type and I tried to oil cleanse as my first step to remove makeup twice within a 3-day interval (I follow with my cleansing bar afterwards). Unfortunately, it triggered pimples in my jawline and cystic acnes appeared... 😢 I immediately stopped but I tried once again after 2 weeks, hoping that my skin might just be adjusting, but to no avail as the big pus pimples showed up again just the night I used it (fortunately just in my jawline area).. It always says that pimples might trigger if not properly washed, but I made sure that from the 3x I used the oil-cleanser, I washed very well (but not to the point of rubbing to long and hard). I'm wondering if I am one of the less-fortunate ones who are not suited to double-cleanse using oils... 🥺
Cleanser? Any gentle cleanser with moisturizers and not too many added ingredients should be ok :) example: cetaphil, physiogel, dove sensitive, cerave etc
Kapag re-applying sunscreen, need pa ba mag cleanser and moisturizer? Or diretso sunscreen na agad? Example i apply sunscreen at 10 am then re-applying sunscreen at 2 pm.

In my opinion as long as your facial cleanser does not cause your skin to feel dry and stretched after washing and it doesnt cause your skin to be sensitive and irritated, ok naman :) there are many good cleansers in the market and kailangan mo lng mahanap one that works well on your skin :)

Yes, of course :) i recommend a gentle cleanser unless you really got dirty then you may use something stronger just make sure to replenish lost lipids :)

Use gentle cleansers, limit bathing to not more than 10mins using cold or warm water (not hot), apply moisturizer after :) If kulang parin, paconsult ka na :)

Just passed by your vid while searching about cleansers and i am thankful i saw it! May question po ako. I have a cousin that says that she uses cleansers in a "different" way. Sabi nya sakin na when she cleanses her face...she foams it up then put it on her face then she leaves it on and does not wash it off and wait for around 10-15 min before washing it off, yung halos natuyo na sa face. She told me that mas ma aabsorb raw nang face yung cleanser. Is this true? How long does a facial cleanser need to be on the face before washing it off? I dont recommend na ibabad ang face with cleanser kc may surfactants yan and thay can strip the lipids off of your skin causing it to be irritated. Cleansers are meant to clean the skin. If you want active ingredients to get absorbed into your skin, use serums or creams :) Thanks for the support! :)

Does baby powder clog pores? I have oily and acne-prone skin, kapag lunch time po para binuhusan na po ng langis mukha ko. Nagda-dry naman po skin ko kapag nag-clean with water, but natatakot naman po ako mag-breakout kapag nagpolbo. I hope this gets noticed po. Thank you.
Water is drying when used alone. I suggest u use cleansers that help control oil like SA, AHA and/or use toners that do the same. Pwede ka dn mag blotting paper in the middle kf the day or apply face powder :)

Hi, doc. I just want to ask if you approve my bar cleanser, it is SebaMed Clear Face cleansing bar. I just have a concern about the product because it seems that after using, my face becomes red and kinda itchy. I have eczema and acne prone(most specifically whiteheads) I am currently planning if I should switch to Sebamed Cleansing Bar. Should I?
What matters most is how your skin reacts to a product. If that’s what u experience with the cleansing bar it might be best to shift to a liquid cleanser that is soap free and intended for sensitive skin :)

Hello po doc, After 2 months of using cethapil cleanser, skinoren and belo sunscreen, in the evening cethapil cleanser, 2 times a week klenzit and oxecure. The result is good. I saw my derma and told me to continue using these. But my concern is lightening and brightening of my face because it looks dull, dry at umiitim. She said I should undergo chemical peel. Is there any cream I can use for my concern? Itchy din face ko pag mainut ang weather I just use avene as prescribed by my dermatologist.
