For me that always showed off that they where more or less equal in gameplay, Vergil was a boss... but a boss that can basically do what YOU do in his own way.
Jump and activate air raid on the moving platform then you can pelt every enemy with lightning and they cant hit you. You can technically do this through the whole level until the infinite DT goes away.
I remember seeing that cutscene of Vergil killing the boss and getting the weapon and being super pissed at the game that I wasn’t the one that gets the cool gauntlets.

To the best of my knowledge, it's never been directly confirmed that Vergil does what he does because of Eva. His line about Dante not being able to protect anything is what causes people to infer that he's driven by Eva's death.
Geryon is weak to Cerberus. I find the best way to fight Geryon is to actually PLAY CHICKEN with him. If you line up as he races in circles and get him with the helm breaker on Rebellion, it'll count as a counter hit and put him in the stun state.

About what Pat said about the story in this game, I fucking agree This game has not only what is the best story in the series by far, but I'd argue one of the better stories in games period. Its good on a surface level and has alot of little things that add to it.
Woolie, Beowulf doesn't turn into a fist weapon for both Vergil and Dante, it turns into a fist weapon for Vergil and after he ditches it, Dante picks it up already in that form. It's highly likely that if Vergil picked up Nevan or whatever it wouldn't be a guitar scythe.
1. Beowulf and Gilgamesh are not the exact same moveset. 2. There is no Dreadnaught armour in DMC3. 3. Berial has tons of movement and space to move around, he is nothing like Cerberus. 4. They don’t have different taunt lines for DT in DMC4. 5. There is a double tap method in 4 that makes switching easier. And Dante works much better in 4 than 3, due to having the ability to style switch.
Pat is really good at bosses that are just a straight up fight, but when there's some sort of gimmick or alternative way to fight it other than just hitting it and not getting hit back, he struggles quite a bit more. I respect that. I've always disliked bosses that have a weird gimmick that make me fight it in some weirdly specific way for maximum effectiveness.

Also I was super disappointed that Quicksilver didn't come back in DMC4 with refinements similar to what Nero's going to be receiving in DMC5, but I guess that's because of how rushed that game's development cycle was. In any case, I'm glad we're getting a form of Quicksilver back in DMC5.

According to the Audio Drama CDs for DMC Anime, Dante owes a client, Enzo (most definitely not the Enzo from Bayonetta), after he loses his arm to a devil arm and Dante slicing it off. Most of his retrieved armaments are given to Enzo as leverage for his debt where he tries to pay it off. Albeit Agni and Rudra were intentionally left with Enzo because "they annoyed him"
