Woolie keeps talking like Air Trick teleports you behind the enemy. It doesn't. It just teleports you close to the enemy and that's it. The only enemy you always teleport behind is Shirtless Vergil.
Actually , the dialogue between Dante and Vergil does make sense. Vergil basically asks his brother why he refuses cooperate, and, well, Dante tells him he isn`t very fond of him.

It's more so a sibling rivalry between dante and vergil. They don't hate each other like "I'm going to murder you super hard because I despise you" but more "man I hate you at times, but only I can mess/tease you like this" type of relationship. They battle one another to prove who is the better man but ultimately they do love each other regardless, given that dante felt compelled to stop vergil from wandering the path of seeking only power, and vergil telling dante to return back to earth as its his home before plunging off the cliff in demon world.

Well, I believe the "exact opposite" of love is hate... Which sounds like a worrying insight into Woolie's psyche, though it kinda figures that if sex=hate, then violence=love... Which is kinda what this LP is all about, I s'pose. And THAT is what happens when western kids are raised by anime. lol

The "I just don't like you, that's all." phrase makes sense. He is referring to the fact that Vergil asked Dante why he refused to gain power. Implying he is asking why Dante didn't join him for power and instead neglected his legacy as the Son of Sparda.
It makes perfect sense Vergil says "our father" while Dante doesn't want to acknowledge his demon side which his father represents so he says he doesn't have a father;
"She's so angry that even if she has no rope it'll all work out. Her anger keeps her alive." So basically Lady is an Ork from Warhammer 40k, sharing their gestalt field fueled by anger.
I just played recently and decided to mess around with it. DUDE when you weapon swap with other guns to cancel the cooldown its SICK. And for some reason it builds style pretty good even without Gunslinger.
You can use it with Royal Guard and guard cancel it. With the level 2 Royal Guard that has a faster recover, you can build up and keep a SSS basically infinitely. Also bosses get super easy.
The reason Dante says he doesn't have a father is because he doesn't want to own up to the responsibility passed down to him. He's immature and wants to clarify to Vergil he does this because he just doesn't like him, the innocent people who may be hurt, their father, greater purpose or anything else is completely irrelevant to Dante. This whole story arc leads up to him owning up to that responsibility placed on him by his father. The line seems a little awkward at the time (maybe from translation) but if you reflect on it a bit it makes sense.
After hearing those noises Woolie made last episode I finally know why vergil is so desperate to gain power. "Might controls everything. And without strength, you can't protect anything. Let alone yourself. "

Her winning quote is somewhat accurately translated as "You are just as hard-headed as Dante at least." The original Japanese is "Tanjun na tokoro wa sokkuri dawa" and is uttered with an affectionate tone. For a more literal translation: "That simple part of you is exactly the same." Vergil's intro quote against her is "Che, akushumi" which I'm fairly sure literally translates to "evil hobby/interests." Usually this gets translated into something like "poor taste." This combined with the way he utters it implies he is referring to the one responsible for her existence, and not her herself. His winning quote against her is accurately translated as "Never show that face before me again" although they miss the first words "Fukai na" which is often translated as " How unpleasant" or "How dirty". Altogether this implies that he detests her existence because it saddens him to be reminded of his mother in such a way, and that Trish is into simple men that she can read easily.
Enemies with positional limitations suck because you always fight them the same way. They're extremely limiting. Which is especially obnoxious in a stylish game like DMC 3.

Okay this bugs me. "I don't have a father, I just don't like you." that quote refers to Dante RESENTING his dad for not being there and how he doesn't care about Sparda's legacy, he just wants to shit on Vergil's parade. By endgame I was given the impression Dante has a grudging respect for his dad, but that could be me personally reading between lines.
Personally, I don't think he resents Sparda for not being there for him. If he does resent him, I'd think it's for a different reason. I'd say he just doesn't agree with Vergil's ambition and like you said, Dante isn't interested in Sparda's legacy. At least, the way I see it.
If anything, maybe he resents his dad for painting a gigantic target on the back of his mother, Virgil and him. Like, when they were talking about how Eva’s pendant was one of the keys to open the underworld back up, Dante goes “Great plan, pops”. Like, yeah, Sparda, I don’t know why you DIDN’T think that demons would invade your home and kill your wife as soon as you fucked off this mortal coil.
The lines ontop of the roof fight makes perfect sense actually. Vergil asks him why he's trying to stop him, why he doesn't want their father's power. Dante states he doesn't have a father, showing bitterness, the opposite of what Vergils admiration, towards their father. Perhaps because he wasn't there to save their mother, perhaps because he's a fullblooded demon, In the end it's all the same, he disowns him as his father at this point. The real reason he's there to fight him is because he doesn't like his brother, probably due to the fact he embraces his demonic heritage, the same thing that killed their mother. It all makes perfect sense. It just shows how much of polar opposites Dante and Vergil truly are with one another.

I don't think he's going to live down the game literally handing him the solution to the sphinx riddle and then him admitting he never got it and just brute-forced it every time for years and years.
I'd guess he's thinking of the difference between lust (which you'd probably use a love hotel for) and love (which you'd probably do at home). But why he's suddenly a proponent of love's existence is confusing.
The 'I don't have a father' line is just Dante trying to disavow himself from Vergil. He's trying to make it seem like fighting him isn't personal, that he doesn't actually care about being forced to fight him, even though he does.
I'm pretty sure Dante's line about not having a father was meant to mean he disowned or didn't acknowledge Sparda as his father. Why he hates him, that i dunno.

It's a slight nonsequitor, but he's distancing himself from the notion of Sparda, and even further the idea that why he's fighting against Vergil has anything to do with Sparda. "Sparda? It's a weird line regardless. It would be a lot more clear if the line was like "Dad? Who cares about him; this is about me and you". "I don't have a father" is just a weird aside.

"haha, father?" => what are you talking about, "I don't have a father" => you idiot, "I just don't like you" => I'm fighting you because I don't like you, not because of any nonsense you're spewing The reference to Sparda is suggesting that Dante refuses to gain power because Sparda's entire purpose was to stop demon kind, so Vergil is making the suggestion that Dante is choosing to follow in his Father's footsteps by not embracing his demon heritage to accomplish things, which is exactly what Vergil is defying in his quest for power. There is nothing in that pair of statements that is inconsistent with the characters, nor the scene, nor the narrative. It hits the ear weird, sure, but that doesn't mean it isn't completely effective. Sparda has also not been shown to have ever been known by his children, so there's a completely legitimate reason to believe that Dante disowns the concept. He's a hotheaded childish character up till this point who came to the tower to fight Vergil, not to save the world. He's entirely the kind of "fatherless child" that is out of control, doubly so because nothing in the human world is any kind of threat to him.
But the knights in 4 are fun to fight because they don't just block passively in front of them, you can break their shields and the way they move and can do combo attacks with elites is interesting, dullahans in 3 on the other hand just float around and poke.

I think that conversation with Vergil before the first fight is basically saying as follows. Vergil: "blah blah blah our father's power is what matters and that is why we are here" Dante: "I don't give a shit about that deadbeat I am not here for that. I'm simply here to beat your ass because you are a douche". Though I totally agree it is a bizarre transition.

That'd certainly make sense. I don't hear a lot of the call-outs when I play because the speakers on my TV tend to drown out a lot of mid-level dialogue in games with the sound effects and music, so I actually didn't know that.

It’s an unspoken agreement. We know it’s Vergil and the devs know it’s Vergil, but no one wants to say anything so it’s cool when it actually gets shown off.

Dante's "father? i dont have a father, i just dont like you that's all" line does make sense when you look at the surrounding context: first off yeah they are taking about sparda, he knows damn well sparda is his father but wasnt raised by him, doesnt know him outside of the shitshow of problems he left him with (basicly making dante and virgil edgy twin variants of steven universe). alot of characters who have missing perants in their lives that they DONT like will usually say they dont have that parent because that parent involvement in their live started and stopped at conception. so that part is simple. the thing to remember about the second part is that it was in response to a question, "why do you refuse to gain power, the power of our father sparda." "i just dont like you, thats all" slightly odd way to respond, only thing i can think of is that he doesnt want to be like virgil and become just another power hungry demon.
*parent* naw, I'm just kidding man. That was a spot on analysis. And its apparently a translation error also. That's a big problem with a lot of series and games translated to English from Japanese. It seems like we lose the original context, and if it's bad enough we get completely different characters from the original source material.
What if Sparda played favorites and doted on his older son and that's why Vergil is kinda obsessed here, but Dante copes by pretending not to care and trying to act cool on his own to make up for it.
Late, and they'll never see it, but Dante says the "I just don't like you" line because he'd not activated his devil trigger up until that point, or achieved the power of Sparda. Dante associates DT with Sparda, his father, and refuses to use his power to irritate Vergil up until it doesn't become possible to go on without it anymore.
