my 360's is dante, xbone is trish and my psn picture is lady with trish as the avatar and my xbone's background is the trish and lady end photo from 4se and my ps4 background the dmc3 background from the psn store, so i'd imagine that woolie and i are on the same page
"Dante, it has a life bar" Thank god Google Glass never took off, Woolie would have installed an app for lifebar over everything and would go on a rampage
And has has a setting on it that turns all other life bars that were previously either 2 life bars or overlapping life bars Into Extremely long single Life bars.
You haven't seen anything. DMC isn't truly beaten until you beat it on Son of Sparda mode or Very hard. The higher difficulties hide different mechanics and even enemy moves. These games truly shine when you have everything and found your way to fight.
@@ArcVaranus yeah it's like some of us say on the subreddit "You get out what you put in" and these games have a lot of things to get out. If you're satisfied with one playthrough just know that it doesn't have to end there.
You know, I did this for the first time recently and I noticed very little different in the higher difficulties not named Dante Must Die. Enemies using DT in Dante Must Die does drastically change the game though.
@@michaelwalker4389 I just replayed Banjo-Tooie and I literally just found out 19 years after playing it that you can strafe with the c buttons. Tiny me couldnt ever beat Targetzan
@@Darkoriax17 yeah problem is I didn’t have Goldeneye as a kid. I do find it funny that they basically crammed goldeneye into B-T just because they could.
Damn, now I remember that one Jiggy in Tooie where you play as a submarine and shoot watermines with torpedos. That's so crazy to think about. We really need more whacky games like that nowadays
What kind of idiot scoffs at a double jump anyway? It's like the most beloved and sought after movement tech in everything. It's not Air Hike's fault Pat kept giving Dante too close a shave with those spinning blades.
I met a guy named Vergil the other day. He was an ancient, white-haired, hunched-over old man who was working at the local Walmart, probably as a greeter because his retirement savings ran out and somebody felt sorry for him. The future is looking dire for DMC Vergil...
Apparently you can also control Vergil during the upcoming Arkham battle the same way you can the doppleganger. Thanks for letting me know that person who told me in earlier episodes!
Woolie you driveling snoop a doppleganger is literally meant to ask you questions about your innermost doubts so they just skip into the boss fight, or Dante just knows what a doppleganger demon is. But yeah, you're mostly right. I also just wanted to call someone a driveling snoop.
Special Edition TOTALLY has the full game co-op. You just need to use the Super Dark Knight costume instead (the Sparda one). It gives you infinite DT on all functions, like Quicksilver and Doppelganger.
You get Super Dante by holding down all 4 shoulder buttons and then rotating the analogue stick until you hear “DEVIL MAY CRY” After that you unlocked literally everything in the game, all modes, costumes, and extras
I always loved DMC3's boss rush, because I love all of DMC3's bosses and getting to fight them again makes me happy. And considering Dante actually finishes them all (except Beowulf) the first time he fights them, this hellscape boss rush is the only way to continue the DMC tradition of multiple fights with the same boss. Plus at this point in the game, if you've been doing all the side stuff as you go through...your reward for completing the whole boss rush is that you get your final Blue Orb Piece and finally max those green bars. Feels fitting that the last piece of that journey is to relive the entire journey.
23:01 There's another super costume if you finish the game on Dante must die that doesn't deplete your Devil Trigger under any circumstances. Not even when you're using Quicksilver or Doppelganger.
@@Rockymann27 You have to finish the game on Dante must die to unlock it for Dante and Vergil Must Die to unlock it for Virgil. I noticed on my playthrough it was a little more easy to do with Virgil simply because he's somewhat overpowered. I did stumble upon a glitch while doing it. I finished the game as Dante to unlock Vergil then I went through all of the difficulties as Virgil and when I loaded the Dante save file it had unlocked everything just like if I had done the same thing with Dante. But the save file was corrupted. I had to start a new game as Dante but when I did I noticed that all of the difficulties were already unlocked just not finished. If you go through heaven or hell with Dante keep repeating the last boss fight with Virgil to farm for red orbs. If it works it should help you on the harder difficulty levels. There's no guarantee the glitch will happen with you but apparently it was a pretty common glitch.
9:05 "Apparition Incarnate is a pretty cool name." Actually Woolie Apparition Incarnate is the name of the room you're fighting him in. And no, the Demon is called Doppelganger too, not just the style. But the real reason I'm telling you this is because in thinking that it was called "Apparition Incarnate" you failed to realize that it does actually have a really stupid but awesome second name: *Deathvoid* Sometimes they even put it together so it becomes *Doppelganger the Deathvoid*
If they had a save with 100% completion they should have just put on Super Sparda and finished the game co-op btw super dante is Very Hard Super Sparda is Dante must die Super dante is just unlimited demon form but you don't heal with it anymore Super Sparda is complete unlimited use of the magic runes and you still heal in demon form
@@patrickwingard582 ya theres a cheat that unlocks all the extra stuff (costumes bonus pictures/videos) down side is you have to start over and it locks saving
AstralMuffin105 yes, the projectile ball that shuts off the lights can be deflected, I believe only on hard and up he deflects it back so you need to do it twice. Rebellion’s delay combo and Agni can do it easily iirc.
I know! Ive been patient With them but they better start mashing that O button right after the last impact to do i-fucked-your-mom zepuken zero gravity move or I'm gonna riot.
That's wrong Pa- I mean, Woolie! Apparation Incarnate is the name of the room you fight him in. The boss is in fact called Doppelganger, or *Deathvoid* if you're an edgelord.
I thought this was a Resident Evil game, now its also a megaman game with the boss rush before the final boss, damn, cant wait for the 2 player shirtless woolie and easy mode pat jackpotting the joker
Enzo Matrix Unsuprisingly pat is wrong but he brought this upon himself back episode 1 or 2 he said that [CRAZY TALK] would be weak this play through but uttering that sentence has only made it stronger
You need Super Sparda for unlimited Doppelganger in Special Edition, because Doppelganger and Quicksilver both still drain DT with Super Dante in Special Edition.
It would be normal to use trick even 20 times per minute because it's such a game-changing combat ability And it would be Pat for it to be used zero times against living enemies, apparently
My favorite move for this fight has to be perfectly timing the Beowulf combo of mashing into punches then one big punch, so that the last punch sends him flying into the dark blast that knocks out all the lights. Feels like something out of Fist of the North Star.
Wouldn't the doppelganger ability make more sense if it didn't use DT except for when the shadow gets hit? that way it'd work like a second player hp bar.
So, for the Super Dante costume draining DT, it happens only for the Quicksilver and Doppelganger effects. However, the Super Sparda costume does not consume any DT gauge for these styles at all
Don't forget in DMC4 you also have the Dante fight. Another great fight that only happens once, despite the disgusting amount of reuse of the less fun bosses.
Mega Man boss rush quality depends whether another final boss immediately follows them or not. X5's is probably the worst, cause there's a platforming section before it, all the bosses are set to level 96 so their health bar's almost the height of the screen, the weapons all suck to the point that one or two of them can't be killed using only their weakness, and you have to do it every time you want a shot at Sigma. The only saving grace is the broken continue system that lets you restart from your last checkpoint, making lives meaningless.
When i was 12 i used to play the hell level with my little brother and Super Dante and 2 replay the level over and over. The fact that this games allows that is amazing.
No no no, you think the last secret is a nightmare with Vergil? At least Vergil has Trick Up. It's not a great substitute, but he has it. No, you know what's a nightmare with Vergil? The elevator, pre-Judgment Cut. But even more so, 20 seconds of air. As Vergil. Fucking *miserable*. Dante has an out, in the form of Air Raid. Vergil? All depends on what the weird inconsistent AI feels like doing. If they decide to jump away from your corner, you are FUBAR'd. It's barely doable at all. It sucks. It sucks so much.
Did Pat unlocked a new act for Crazy Talk? because there are first person shooting minigames in Banjo-Tooie, so i guess now if Pat is ironic about it he can create facts unintentionally.
I've been patient With them but they better start mashing that O button right after the rising dragon back O swordmaster move to do the "i-fucked-your-mom" zepuken (or whatever that spinning move that ryu does is called) zero gravity move or I'm gonna riot.
Any game where the boss fights are the reason you're even playing the game. There is absolutely no reason for such a game to NOT have a boss rush mode. I'M LOOKING FUCKING STRAIGHT AT YOU DARK SOULS.
Dude that is so true! The fact that souls doesn't have a rush mode, even if it didn't give you anything and you could only do it simply for hype sake, is bull.
2:35 I can't believe I never realized that the Executioner from Alice: Madness Returns is just straight up these grunts in terms of design. There are a lot of things I don't remember from DMC3 when playing it as a kid.
Man, Super Dante should be easier to unlock just so you can 2-player the game with Doppelganger. Or Doppelganger should level up until it's free to always have on.
Oh my goodness, shadow clone style is a hidden co-op mode! I'll admit I don't know much about easter eggs, but out of the ones I've seen so far that has got to be the most unique!
I was waiting for Pat to deflect Doppelganger's black spheres (equivalent to Beowulf SM lvl 1 charges), oh well... [EDIT] Also, TAUNT. We'd get to see more of Woolie's amazing gameplay if you taunted every 10 seconds. [EDIT 2] Yes, Woolie. In the Special Edition, Super Dante's DT does drain with DT fluxes and Quicksilver/Doppelganger. Super SPARDA, on the other hand... You get Super Dante by beating Very Hard or Bloody Palace. Same for Vergil. Super Sparda you ONLY get by beating DMD/VMD. [EDIT 3] You can "skip" the boss rush by fighting Agni and Rudra [GREEN], Beowulf [WHITE] and Cerberus [BLUE], thus forming a circle. Or you can form other circles, question is, why would you ever skip such awesome and IMPROVED boss fights?
When the fundamental part of getting better and actually enjoying the game is the exact opposite of what you just said, I don't even know how to reply. Get good, I guess?
Dude, I loved the mini boss rush that was in mission 9 of Kid Icarus Uprising. Mostly because that level in the game convinces you so hard that it was the final level of the story. But no, you get a permanent super form exclusive to that level and three full health restores outside each one, and it only contains the most memorable and fun bosses you fought in the game. But seriously, I could go on for an hour about why Mission 9 is the greatest fake-out in Video Game History.
20:38 "You remember when Banjo-Kazooie had that intense shooting sequence?" You joke, Pat. But Banjo-Tooie had multiple parts in the game where it became a First-Person Shooter where Banjo pulls Kazooie out of his backpack and uses her like a rifle.
I think the best Boss Rushes are ones you unlock that time trial and give NG+ goodies as time rewards. Aria of Sorrow is one of my favorite ones like this.
For the people at home, you only need to fight Agni and Rudra, Cerberus, and Beowulf in the boss rush. If you fight everyone you’ll get a Blue Orb though, and the mission is great for leveling up your styles.
The worst change they made to Vergil in DMC4:SE was limiting _Trick Down_ to his DT form, because once you're used to it being there not having it feels like you can only move forwards. The dice in DMC4 can be super annoying too if you don't know how to deal with them. The best way to get the dice roll you want is to lock on and use a neutral melee strike (Nero's _Buster_ also works) when the number you want is facing up to the ceiling. The order the numbers cycle through is always the same, so it just becomes a matter of preparing to hit it at the right moment.
Boss Rushes being good or enjoyable depends on the game. In games like DMC or Megaman where you can't take too much damage and you are required to defeat every boss again in one go with limited health pick ups, it can be super intimidating. I believe you don't have to beat every boss in one go in Megaman X1, but in X4 and X5 for example, you do. You get Maverick weaknesses in X games, but sometimes the weapons aren't that great and the Buster is better, or you could be playing as Zero and your techniques might not be usable as a weakness on most of the bosses. However, games like Metroid where bosses are some of the best parts of every game, there is no Boss Rush mode yet and in Metroid, you can take a fair amount of damage (as long as you aren't doing a low % run anyway) and can regain health and ammo from shooting boss projectiles. So basically, in most game series that have boss rushes, a lot of people don't like it, but franchises where players want a boss rush do not have one. Makes sense to me.
