I fucking love that Agnus is the archetypal small spineless scientist, but when he's standing next to Credo, he's actually taller and the only reason he doesnt look that way is cause of how hard he hunches over. Also the Chimeras can be temporarily disabled if you shoot them enough
Also, Angus is pretty big, muscle-wise. His pecs stand out with that lab outfit. It's kind of like he's the nerd who got beat up and then got huge but kept the stutter and the instinctual flinches.
I'm really surprised they didn't point out the fact that Echidna has like 4 other context-based Buster-grabs. 1. When her pink flower underneath is revealed, buster it to grab. 2. When she's charging around the stage, time a buster perfectly to grab on and ride. 3. When she's rooted to the ground, grab her when she gets woozy. 4. As shown, when she gets stunned in her normal state, grab her.
I was honestly waiting for Woolz to buster-parry Echidna when she was in her Golden state, but I keep forget that they weren't really aware of the specific buster Parries on the Bosses

@@thatsnotasnake3350 I'm doing DMD now and find them pretty easy to deal with using Charged Shot 3, ignoring grabs and only sparingly using melee attacks, but they aren't fun to fight for sure. The only time I think they're actually hard is on Legendary Dark Knight because there's just so many that at least one will be whipping its tentacles when you're not ready for it.

I think that's actually the case here. That's probably why Dante says, "What the hell is this?! Must be the effect of the gate." I think their implying that Ice toad and tree snake lady are responsible for the blizzard and the giant forest.

Hope you know to mash Rev on Echidna buster attacks. 8. You can grab her ‘uterus’ Woolie. 9. Guess you didn’t know to mash Rev. 10. You can grab Echidna when she fly at you in her second mash when she’s yellow. Notes: You can tell these guys think Nero is better than Dante by how much they don’t know things Nero can do
Josh-oo, the Shape-Shitting Master of Dogshit they are not the exact same type of demons. I just double checked in case I was remembering wrong, but Blades and Assaults still have notable differences in design and general manner of attack and therefore ability, like Assaults attacks with sound from their vocal chords. If anything they are the same type, but different subspecies of demons.

it's interesting to look back on this game and see how Credo was trying to keep Nero safe. He purposefully sent him off to track Dante not expecting him to succeed. Then he changes the subject to Gloria to pull attention away.
13 years and I've only just realised that Dante provides the write off for why there are drastically different biomes every time you turn a corner in this game.
As much they have been wrongly referencing table hopper over the years I expected them to barely use it. Also you ditched charge shot 3, a consistently stunning, good damaging move, for showdown, a move you need to setup but probably won't and will probably forget about it. Good shit
Woolie only using Devil Bringer on Mephistos when he could also be shooting them with Charge Shot, using Buster, or even just attacking them mid-air for extra style... Flasbacks to me as a teen playing DMC4, guh... D:
You can definitely buster-counter Echidna's long range swoop, as well as Berial's full-screen lunge. I watched a video called "Devil May Cry 4 Counters," and I was surprised at how many of them there are in the game...moments where I would never have thought to try it (countering the Blades' spinning attack looks amazing!).
They aren't really intuitive though, except for maybe Creedo's lances since they take so long, but I never even knew buster parries were even a thing my fiest time through, I just learned that in YT.
Woolie and Pat are both missing two important DT mechanics for Nero. The first is that once you’ve landed the DT-enhanced grab on a boss, you can immediately cancel out of DT, which will save you from burning through DT energy during the throw animation-but Nero will keep his DT state and enhanced throw damage until the throw animation’s end. The second is that while you’re in DT state during a boss throw, you can mash the gun button and Nero will manifest little floaty swords independent of the throw animation, which just spin out of his Vergil-stand and stab into the boss, doing extra damage.
Guys on Echidna it's not mashing buster for damage (that's for certain mob enemies), it's using exceed for more damage. + You can buster counter her in her yellow form when she is dashing.
@@PieFoot yes that too hopefully woolz figures that out it doesn't do alot of damage but it looks cool as shit when he grabs a boss and is throwing them around while summoned swords are just flying at them I actually didn't know I could do that till I was well into special edition
Are you guys not aware if you shoot the chimera's enough you kill the plant and they no longer swipe at you? You shoot it for a bit and the flower and arms go grey and drop making it so you can cut them apart no issue. The flowers do recover eventually but you have a long window.
I learned that when I saw the enemy description in the galery, this was after doing a secret mission with Dante that required to beat 3 lizardman with parasites without getting hit, it took me 2 hours.
Am I crazy or can you charge shot those plant guys to keep them from slashing at you? I feel like I remember shooting them with Dante's shotgun to stun them while I combo the puppets to death.
Does Woolie know he can mash the buster button on some of the moves to get more damage and stuff? Oh yeah you can buster She-Viper's womb AND when she charges at the player after glowing Gold. Plus, you can also rev up your weapon when you buster her body too.
V's devil trigger could just be a super move of some kind, similar to Lady's cluster grenade move when you play as her in 4SE. Now, if they could make it so that it changes depending on what book/weapon/combo you're using, sort of like a finisher? That'd be pretty sweet.
I mean, there's not really anything stopping it from being just a stronger form with some colored aura. Trish did exactly that after all. But something different would be sweet, yeah
Echidna is my second favourite boss in DMC 4. She's fun and the buster move when you stab her and pump the gasoline into her while she's screaming and flying around, and finishing it out with exceed high roller it's so freaking satisfying, one of the best buster move in the game

kimmedavid for a person who understands video games in general, he’s fine. As a person who’s played the game several times and claims this to be his favorite characters, he’s trash. He’s barely above the polygon demo gameplay of DMCV. And yes, I’ve beaten the game with every character on every mode too. S ranked and all. Considering he deliberately chose not to remap his controls and obviously doesn’t understand the full potential of the Devil Buster, it’s not really surprising at this point. But hey, as long as he’s having fun, who am I to tell him how to play.
Took me like 28 minutes to finish this dice mission on DMD and I still got S time, that's horrible, I hate that mission, shitty enemy into shitty Monopoly into window boss fight
I actually think the core of this is a really good idea, create it as an optional mode like bloody palace while cleaning it up so it isn''t so dumb. Maybe have it be a submode to bloody palace but with a random encounter table?
The only reason DMC4 isn't worse than DMC1 is that it DMC3 esque combat. SE puts it squarely above just for breadth of content, but it's got a lot of garbage.
You need to land on the yellow spots by hitting it on the right number pisplay on top of the dice. For windows98 boss take priority on dodging and use DT for I-frames.
Really? the dice sections are pretty free on DMD, on any difficulty really, it's obscenely easy to control the number you role, makes the boss rush a joke due to easy access to healing between fights.
Woolie, shoot at the same time during DT. I can't do tekken fingers either but it's not that hard. Just have your thumb on square and triangle. Also reminder that going behind a fall is very Resident Evil... Too. They did turn off bloom dramaticaly. Blades appear with Nero but later. You missed another finisher when she's in the ground.
crazy talk: You don't have to wait out the chimera's, you can actually kill them by shooting them down and then return to fight the host normally. Also, they totally do their blades when you try to buster them and it can knock you out of it.
Woolie you forgot to use buster when she's laying eggs, i'm pretty sure she's the only boss that has 3 different buster variations. Also, you mapped Blue Rose to the trigger, holding down, and releasing after the launcher is free style meter... use it more !!!
Yep, if you have the button mapped to a button that allows you to do so. Or if you're some kind of freak mutant and can mash it with the standard button. xD
I mean, I understand WHY few people actually know about the game for a multitude of reasons, but god damn if it doesn't have an interesting centeral gameplay mechanic. Summoning demonic bodyguards on the fly to do battle against other demons, while you jump into the fray now and then to take potshots and assist your guys. And considering what the rumors have been talking about in regards to V, I would not be surprised if Itsuno, or another developer in his team, brought the game up when discussing how they could make his gameplay different from Dante and Nero's.
I don't know anything about Chaos Legion except that I used to date a girl that owned it, but i was thinking it would be sort of like monster summons in Lost Kingdoms. You throw out a card, a monster appears and attacks, then the monster disappears and you throw more cards.
Well, first of all, that gameplay style is interesting, but FAR too temporary. I've just taken a look at it to check it out, and I wouldn't mind picking it up one day... but, yeah, Chaos Legion is FAR more action oriented, with some heavy Devil May Cry influences injected into it. Secondly, Chaos Legion was a Capcom property, and I think it would make more sense for them to take inspiration from something they own. D-does Woolie not know you can add extra spins/hits to Frost and the Lance Angelo enemies by mashing said Buster, regardless of being in DT mode or not? I really hope he figured it out before he got to the Assault enemies.

In fact, I don't think I got one from the previous LPs of DmC either. Everything else is fine but not this for some reason. YT desperately needs competition.
yeah, i made the mistake of forgetting about the bridge, so when the game said we have to go back to the order, i walked my ass back through all the levels to a locked door i cant open and had to walk all the way back.

30:53 Actually if you rev the sword it does more damage because he isn't shooting her he impaled her on the sword and is charging it to slice/twist harder
That tip during the boss fight about using DT, please keep giving those. I really love the DMC games but I just never really pick up on those little exploits because my go-to is just brute force the problem. I really would love to hear all those little tips you guys have picked up throught your play time of this series.
