Show Notes:
Gut Health Superfood = Fiber
Why?
Intestinal Transit Time
a. Foods to avoid: 'lingering foods'
Make it harder for stool microbes to leave the system
b. Bad microbes stay too long (12+ hours) and cause problems
c. Consider eating high fiber (daily goal of 40-50 grams)
d. Consider taking a stool softener
e. Aim for 2-4 bowel movements daily.
f. Drink plenty of water

I know this is an old post but I need help for my mother. I want to get her back on keto which I believe is the answer but not sure how to transition here. Heerdoc has her eating bananas, white bread, rice… basically anything white! She will end up with diabetes real quick. How did you transition to carnivore which btw is how I eat.

I don’t need beetroot to tell me that my transit time (with UC) is a lot faster than 12 hours. As others have noticed, when in a flare of UC I think fibre makes things worse. When not in a flare it might be an idea to try to prevent one, not sure

I love your channel. I follow everything you've said prior to finding your channel and it's worked for me. I was diagnosed with Severe level 3 UC of descending colon in April. The inflammation had spread and showed mass on my cervix and my nose was swollen. The doctors said I would have to be on Humira forever, but I wanted to fix the problem. Since then I have fasted to give my gut a rest, juiced greens and beets to get nutrients without straining my gut, then moved to smoothies, then continued a WFPB diet. Ive taken supplements like Qing dai, Tumeric, L-Glutamine, Zinc and Pre/probiotics. I removed Wheat, Processed foods, Dairy, Eggs, Seafood from my diet and only use Olive oil for cooking. I exercise 5 days a week and yoga one a week. I make sure I get 7 to 8 hours a sleep. I have avoided parties and try not to eat out. My health has substantially improved and I usually have 1 normal BM every day. If I ever relapse I start over with fasting, juices and smoothies and symptoms disappear within 5 days. I continue to read and watch videos about IBD so I am always up to date with latest info. That's why I love your informational videos. They make so much sense to me and I wish more people with IBD found you! Thank you!!!

I tried to source milk of magnesia but surprisingly my pharmacist did not know what it was.....I actually was given it after I had a difficult birth and my muscles and bowels were unable to recover well from the event. However when given milk of magnesia, everything returned to normal without any difficulties and the results were quite amazing. That was back in the 70s, mind you. Enjoyed your video and look forward to getting more information. Thank you.

Superfood for ulcerative colitis you wrote in the title of your video. I have ulcerative colitis for four years already and let me tell you. If I eat any plant fiber I literally shit my intestines out of my anus. So I don’t know what are you talking about. I just had my first bad flare in a few years and it's kind of bad. They gave me Prednisone and told me clear liquids, but I'm a big guy 48 and 300 lbs. 6'4 and my stomach hurts like no other if I don't eat something. Help!!! should I even take this steroid; I am juicing organic green Cabbage as of writing this. and seems to have already put out some fires. I ate a steak and the next day Mexican food and out of nowhere BAM! and these are foods I have tolerated the last two years steak 1 time every 2 months and Mexican foods every month sometimes twice a month. any hints are appreciated

Hi David, sorry to hear! What I can recommend you out of my own experience with flare-ups is to temporarily avoid: alcohol, products with lots of sugar, spicy food (mexican, asian etc.), soda drinks, raw vegetables (although healthy, during flares it's best to eat soft and cooked vegetables), white bread, white rice, white pasta (use the brown whole grain versions of these 3), fresh onions, seasoning like garlic, pepper etc. and processed meat. Also try to take long walks (1 hour+) and avoid stress at any cost :) Try this for two weeks and let me know how you feel! And when you are more healthy again, you can try to eat these foods again and see if it feels better. Good luck, you can do this!!
