Can we get a video at 10X speed of you just running around in the woods? Would be quite entertaining. Also up there in Canada in the deep woods how many big foot sightings have you seen? Not if...but how many? Glad the winch worked out well.
I did. I did shoot video on how to route it through. and I still have a connector under the hood, so I can do either or. right now it is just zap strapped to the OBD2 plug. I plan on finishing the video soon... and mount it. I'm also working on an extension for the cable release so I don't have to reach down. Dm me on Instagram and I can send you some pics of what I have so far. @northshorebronco
Clever use of the winch to extract the downed trees. Probably paid for itself by sparing sore muscles heaving them out of the woods yourself! Is that all going to be used as firewood in your home this winter?
I definitely prefer the look of the hidden winch over others. With that being said it’s obviously mounted Lower than a typical mount. Have you encountered or can you speculate any drawbacks to this much lower pulling angle? Especially with a self Recovery? Thanks
The only thing is that sometimes the rope will run on branches or the ground being so low. But It hasn't damaged it yet. And the replacements from @roughcountry are reasonably priced. I actually have a Badlands Orange spare I need to swap out!
Just stumbled on your channel... Good stuff. I've got 2022 2.3L, Base, 7sp. Manual (6+crawl) with plastic bumper. At the suggestion of my son, I ended up with the RC hidden winch holder. I'm shopping winches now (likely considering Smitty Built - due to warranty), however, I'm very concerned that I made a mistake with the hidden winch holder regarding access to the winch's free wheel v. in/out clutch setting? Is there any way to automate this v. climbing onto the front bay and trying to reach down? I'm only 5'-7" and realized this may be a PITA?? Your input is appreciated.
Honestly it's not all that bad. I have a video coming out on sunday that i winch like 10 times haha. I usually just wrap my rope around the shackles in front till i'm done for the day. You can also dyi an extention down to the lever so you can do it standing. I'll be doing a video on that eventually. I usually just use the remote to pull it out. Doesn't take that long.
I was looking to do this upgrade upon delivery of my Bronco but one concern is how do you access the clutch handle to the freespool position or engaged position if its mounted in the Rough Country Hidden mount? Can it be done through the remote?
The problem with that is that the AUX switches stay on when you switch it. You'd be better off with momentary push button switches. and, you need an in and out switch.
@@NorthShoreBronco Thanks, yeah I'm going back and forth if I will take order or keep my JL, a winch solution without swapping for a different bumper would be nice
K, heard back from RC. Apparently they just don't have the instructions out for the capable bumper. So you can install it using the Mod bumper instructions and figuring out the missing gaps (shouldn't be too hard). And you will need to use the included bumper spacers. But it will work.
