"Best of" footage and an interview, edited by: a portrait of Andrew Camarata Interview and scene selection Florian Koerner von Gustorf Mike Bols Editing Sabrina Rücker Sound Mix Jochen Jezussek Additional camerawork Luke Boelitz
This channel has evolved so much while staying fundamentally the same since I first came across it 4 years ago. And been completely awesome the entire time.
No kidding, one of the only guys without the 3 minute ads for phone games and shit. I wouldn't blame him for doing it but it's nice that he turns them all down
Yeah, he didn't sell out and become another product testing prostitute like so many. I remember warning him of this very thing back when he hit 10k subs. Sure there's money in it but these sellout channels are lifeless and you can tell many of them hate what they do all day.
@@1985cjjeeper He’s done it a few times, but he tests things with out bias, and he tests things he would actually use. I’ve never seen him hawking bit coin, or RF blocking wallets….
I kinda disagree. He doesn't take contract work anymore. Don't get me wrong I get it, if I was making millions a year on RU-vid I wouldnt want to work on other peoples projolects either. However, I find the videos less interesting because of this. Also spends more time buying new equipment than working and fixing the old stuff. Again, I get it but it is less interesting to me.
I think he meant to do it right so that it will stand the test of time, that when you finished the job, you did everything that you thought you should do the first time, if it wasn't the result you wanted, don't stop till you believe you gave it all you thought was right. Just my thoughts, every tub sets on it on bottom.
You're genuinely one of the few content creators on youtube who just keeps doing what you enjoy doing and don't seem to care what people think. No greed, no audience capture - just the "same old" quality content we all came here for. Keep it up man. I'm loving every second of it.
I run with modified P.T. Barnum mentality. All publicity is good publicity. I.e.; everything is a compliment. With that agog , you can't go wrong! ( in the spirit of Bert Reynolds when Sally Fields said he had a nice profile, he said , "Thank you, . . I look pretty good from the side too!") Prof. I. Ver Mectin Ps. Mr. Ed said " H E L L O " would like some of my apple jelly, it cures everthing, 'tout sweet"!!""
How do you even pick the "best of" AC? There are so many different reasons why people love this channel and each person likely has their favourites. To name a few. 1. His audacity to tackle crazy personal projects like the container castle 2. His willingness to share all the flubs with us. We know other's who edit out their mistakes. 3. His love for animals 4. His torture testing of equipment to see if it'll break for no reason. 5. His epic drone scenic shots. 6. His ability to single-handedly do things that a crew of men might not tackle while simultaneously filming it. 7. His attention to detail for finish landscaping while at the same time not giving AF about the cosmetic condition of most of his equipment. 8. Watching him breath new life into old, neglected machines. Seriously I could go on.
Best 59 minutes and 42 seconds I have spent in a long time. Say whatever you want, we all would like to have more days like Andrew's days...doing what we want. I am envious, I am entertained, I am addicted. Thanks for being Andrew and for sharing your adventures with us!
Andrew lives the life alot of us would love to be able to. I know if I could relocate to that area and have work their I'd do it in a heart beat. Just hard to leave the union in Illinois.
It’s amazing how rare people like Andrew have become. And how his tenacity is more captivating than most of the garbage being peddled in social media today.
My wife and I have long since stopped watching cable-AND most of the Hulu/Prime crap-even Apple TV+ has too much crap, or it'a a pain waiting for the next season of "See", for example. I got into Andrew a while ago when he was still building his container castle and still doing a lot of contract jobs. Then, surprise, surprise, the WIFE started suggesting, "Let's watch some Caramata" Bless her heart, she's now pronouncing his name correctly, but she's actually prettty into his videos now, too!
There is something about Andrew that is captivating. It feels like he’s an actor, but it’s completely genuine. He is one of a kind. He has a mysterious confidence, but a curiosity that is humbling. I can’t put my finger on it, but I’m going to keep watching.
The fact that some of his videos took years to make is what I love about this channel. For example we get a video of him picking up a truck, then we see him fixing it over the next 2 years all in one video. I found his channel when he first started building the container castle.. Must have been 4 years ago.
I think they were showing their support and appreciation for Andrew. And I think if Andrew gets to read the comment he will very much appreciate it. I think his dogs are a huge part of his life! But your right everyone’s entitled to their opinion. And this a public forum so perhaps I should have kept quiet. No hard feelings. All the best.
The first time I saw Andrew I congratulated him on using his dog, Levi, to keep the content light and interesting. Little did I know that Levi was an integral part of the channel....and when we lost Levi...and I mean we... it was devistating. Just a great combination of creative hard work, and human interest. Bravo Zulu (Navy term for well done.)
As I watched, I realized I've been a fan for years now. Became quite nostalgic. The joy this channel has brought me in that time cannot be measured. Best channel on RU-vid. Keep it up AC!
Well i think you're a really great guy Andrew, i'm 81yo here in New Zealand and iv'e got kids all of who i love very much, but i would also be very proud of you if you were my son, thats why i follow your activities with interest all the time. I'm proud of my kids too Andrew, though sadly i lost my eldest son John Wilson 56yo at Melbourne Australia on October 23, last year to cancer. It devastated me, i'm supposed to be the one to go first. Also because of the Covid stuff i couldn't go there to say goodbye to John. I've got a son called Andrew too, he is 32yo, about your age, and he is living in Sydney. Andrew is married and very handsome. I am proud of, John, Stephen, Debbie, Andrew, and Christine. I admire your initiative, Andrew, nothing defeats you, thats a good attitude to have. I'm an old soldier got a lovely wife, and our home is in the Philippines, where we will be returning to just as soon as the crazy stuff ends. I'll be following your progress Andrew even when we are back on Cebu, until the good Lord decides to take me. Thank you Andrew, for all your very interesting videos and no bad language, thats a plus. All the best to you from New Zealand. Bob and Lina Wilson.
Your comment is very wholesome, Bob, but for RU-vid comments, I fear you're oversharing a lot like surnames and location that could be used for harmful things by someone evil enough. Wish you the best!
One of my favourite pastimes is watching someone who knows what they're doing, work. Your fearlessness in tackling any repair or renovation or work-related project is incredible. The skill and dexterity you have operating that heavy plant machinery is a delight to see. You're a fine example of a true pioneer both in spirit and enterprise. Your vids never disappoint...so, thanks for that, too! Cheers!
Just saying I’m 19 and been watching him since I was 14 and honestly he’s the ones I look up to and wanted to be like in life big props to @Andrew for the awesome inspiring videos
Been watching since he had 60k subs, Love the dude. Literally has made awesome content that 4 year old me absolutely loves. Most importantly it distracts me for just a few precious moments
"like Bob Ross, people just like watching him" - that sums it up pretty well! Thanks Andrew for all those hours of great entertainment! Best regards from Germany :)
The thing I like the most about your videos is that I have never heard you say these words, "Please subscribe, like, leave a comment and share them with your friends." Your content sells itself as it should. No need to beg for viewers and you my friend have succeeded in presenting people with what they love to see, a hardworking young man living his dreams! Bravo!
Andrew, 17 year old from Washington State here. I'd love to say that you've been a massive inspiration to me. I dream of living a similar life to you. In your videos you've said you didn't know why but you just started uploading videos, and I assume unknowingly started influencing younger people to do hard work to achieve what they want. I think that's a awesome thing, having lived among people my age. Even though I don't know you, you've become somewhat of a mentor. I appreciate seeing the content you share, and learning all the little bits of information to be found in your videos. Thank you for sharing this part of your life!
that's awesome dude! keep working hard, be smart about safety, be on good terms with everyone and don't burn any bridges and you'll make a name for yourself. book keeping and taxes are boring but absolutely essential you get right
Its good to see Levi again, was such a good boy! Love your ingenuity in fixing things too, especially that time ya took a chainsaw to your truck dash to get a new radio to fit, hilarious!
As Gunny would say, “out f*cking standing Andrew” You’re an inspiration dude, I grew up playing in the mud with toys like that as a kid, ended up being a concrete pumper and starting a business back in 2015. Shortly there after I found your channel and since then I’ve purchased a skid steer, dump truck, acquired my cdl, and working on a mini x. Big kid for life! Also, you’re correct the work is rewarding and it’s great you too work with your dogs, mine are my kids as well, my lil shadows.. I too fix anything and everything but I’ve never built a house, let alone a castle! Keep it up bro, you’re kick’n ass! Truly inspirational
72 year old retired nurse here….love watching you Andrew…hours and hours of repairs, remakes, dirt moving…loved you pulling down the side of the slate mountain near you castle…love watching Cody run and run and run!
Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of that. There's something warming about watching a man/big kid just do what he loves. You're an inspiration Andrew, keep up the amazing work and thankyou for bringing us along
Your friend hit the nail on the head! You do things most people talk about doing and never do it! I love it!I think young people should love what they do! Because Andrew wakes up every day for a new adventure!I am American and grew up riding dirt bikes ,hunting, and boating! Most fun I every had !
Andrew, It was a great treat to see Levi. We all miss him as well as I am sure you do as well. Thank you for all the content over the years and cannot wait to see what the future has for you. Cheers!
I think it was on goonzquad channel someone commented something like“ think of having the resources of being an adult and the imagination of a kid, all the things you could do”, it describes this channel and Andrew! Thanks Andrew for all the hours of inspiration!👍
I love when he said that at the start when he started the channel that ppl just wanted to watch. Like he doesn’t understand why. I’m a single girl in an apartment in Sweden. And I’m so excited when a new video from Andrew pops up. He is so genuine, down to earth, no nonsense, honest, hardworking and kind guy. And funny. Never change Andrew 🤗
Andrew, I absolutely love this video. I can't even remember how many years ago I started watching you, and this brought back so many "golden moments". Keep up the great work!
This is an awesome channel and Andrew mastered the camera and editing to the "off the hook" point. He can take nothing and turn it into a masterful piece that keeps your attention all the way through. That is surely the art of this business. He's a guy's guy that keeps us tuned in to the end.
This was fantastic! Since i've been watching for so many years, it felt like the old Super 8 home movies my family used to watch. And seeing Levi brought a tear to this jaded old mans eyes. Thanks for sharing the journey with all of us Andrew!
This video is one of the best that you've produced since you began the channel. Thanks for all the things you show us. I totally agree with the comment that you do the things we only dream about.
It's missing my favorite quote of all time though, "trucks these days, you roll them over just once, and they get all bent up for no reason whatsoever"
he didn't produce it... Interview and scene selection Florian Koerner von Gustorf and Mike Bols Editing Sabrina Rücker Sound Mix Jochen Jezussek Additional camerawork Luke Boelitz
Hi Andrew. I have been watching your videos with my son, who is now 6, every night for the past couple of years. We really enjoy your content, the effort that you put in and the passion you have for all things to do with machinery. My son, Pete, says his favourite part about your videos is the bulldozers and the front end loaders. Thanks mate...
Been watching this man from the beginning. I love how everything on this channel has changed but at the same time has stayed the same. Hard work doesn't pay off for everyone, but it has for Andrew. Awesome to see.
Your ingenuity and skill with your machines and tools are impressive my dude, it's awesome and inspiring stuff, never change. Looking forward to the next one!
Keep up the great work Andrew. You are the real deal and I wish you the best! People need at least one friend like you with your skill, drive, and dedication.
What I like about you Andrew, You don't panic when you get into a situation. You think and calmly resolve the problem. That takes patience and skill. You have both, my friend. Both.
Love and Peace Andrew. You seem to of found your place in this world . Thank you for sharing your world with us all Through You Tube. Love you brother.
Andrew's smoke detectors must mounted on the outside of his house 😂 You're genuine and an inspiration, and deserve everything because you worked hard for it. God bless.
Loved this interview and the best of clips. Lots of smiles remembering the videos the clips came from. I got hooked in your channel with the container castle build and I've stayed for the rest. I'm excited to see what you've got planned for the mountain top property!
Great line in the book Lonesome Dove where Gus tells Woodrow Call - "It's simple Woodrow - most men doubt their abilities in some capacity where you have absolutely no doubt in your abilities whatsoever." AC is similar in that way. Regardless of what job is in front of him - Camarata has no doubts in his skillset - so what chance does a big rock have? None.
I've followed your channel for a couple years and always look forward to your new content. I feel you are one of most diversified individuals with all your skills and abilities. I'm 65 and recently retired from the Postal Service. I was a technician at the Vehicle Maintainance Facility and enjoyed my job very much as I've always been a hands on kind of guy. Watching you reminds me of my younger years when there was very few things I wouldn't do myself. I built my home between 1989 and 1990. I would work my regular job 8hrs and go to the construction site work until I was exhausted then do it again each day. Took me 13 months from start to moving in my new home. The only work contracted out was finishing the drywall and having the siding and gutters installed. I feel your videos are very inspiring to what you can accomplish if you have the passion, desire and determination to do so. I will continue to follow your channel encourage anyone that wants to see a highly motivated individual that can do almost anything when he sets his mind to it should visit your channel. Jim (Wheeling, WV)
I too am in my sixties. There's not a lot I don't take on myself (though I didn't build my on home), I can definitely see where Andrew is coming from when he says he does it all himself as essentially 'that's the only way it gets done properly'! That's my mantra as well, just never got into heavy plant like Andrew! Though from watching others at work, learnt how to plaster drywall as well, but its a job for the young!
I watch your channel for 2 years now from The Nederlands and I love it. How down to earth you are. I cried when Levi died. Keep doing it the way you do!
I’ve seen every single video and you’re one incredible guy Andrew, I watch these today on this video and I remember every one! I miss you making videos but I understand that you probably are at the point that you don’t need to do all that work any longer! I always enjoyed the spunk and energy you have during all these jobs and my favorite thing was how you repair all your equipment and won’t back down to any problem! I’m a retired welder with 40 years experience and 61 years old, I’ve been impressed with everything you do and I’ve learned things from you my friend! I love your property and castle, I fell in love with your dogs and still miss Levi today! I’m a dog lover and I still can’t bring myself to watch the only video you made of Levi, I really love the connection you have with your pups as I’m the same way with mine! I love watching Cody now and he’s awesome, and I know they love their daddy! You’re a very impressive person Andrew and I’m just watching this video and seeing the jobs and your life experiences and really appreciate you sharing this! Believe me, you’re one amazing man and you’ve earned my RESPECT brother! Like I said one time, I’d be honored to help you anytime with a welding issue my friend! I’m still watching this video, just wanted to say this my friend! 👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
What I love about your generation is that when you say something the words leave genuine impact. I don't mean to say that our generation doesn't mean it when they say something, its just that the raw sincerity is often missing. Stay blessed sir.
I'm a 75 year old grandma from the UK. I watch this channel for your outrageous optimism, tinged with touch of madness, together with a complete disregard for the final appearance of anything you 'fix'. For you, I think, function is everything and form can go hang.
I guess this is a good time to say... Thank you for all the time, effort and energy you put into making these videos to entertain so many people, it is appreciated.
Actually just watched the 3 hr video after this just like I have always watched every video since long ago like many here. It has to be one of the most relaxing days for me. Just grabbing a coffee with dinner with my two dogs to watch Andrew, Levi (RIP) and Cody. I have watched allot of Utubers since it started. When your videos come up for some strange reason they leave me hanging on the edge of my seat and put my thoughts at ease all at the same time. Thank you Andrew!
What an awesome video ! Andrew, you live the life most of us wish we took the path for but may have stayed mailmen or Collision shop owners,Ike myself, I loved what I did but I definitely would have preferred the life you’ve chosen, I’m extremely happy for you ! Don’t everchange
Every time I go on RU-vid I'm looking for the next instalment. This interview was brilliant, a great insight into Andrews little days starting with the Tonka toys and finishing with the huge loader. I'm waiting for the new equipment storage build now. It will be great seeing everything lined up side by side. These videos have really inspired me to overcome problems on my farm. I think 'what would Andrew do?' When I'm fixing it I'm saying to my dog 'we are on this job here today'. All the best from England.
Loved every minute of that. Have I missed the video of the inside house tour? It looks amazing! Keep up the good work Andrew. I look forward to your videos.
Andrew, you have the main three things that make people into great people. The willingness to learn, work and vision. You are willing to trust your vision and to learn how to make your vision possible with hard work. You could give me 100 40' HC containers and I could never build what you have. Trust in your vision, use your gained knowledge and keep working. You have reached beyond the moon and stars and are on your way to the next galaxy. Love all you do, keep grinding.
It’s been a pleasure watching you over the years Andrew …don’t ever change the way you do stuff 👏🏻👏🏻 Funny moment for me ……you fitting the radio to your truck using a chainsaw 😂😂😎🇬🇧
"Ehh! Good enough. It runs, don't it?" In so many words, *get it done.* A very practical, straightforward way of looking at the stuff of life. There's a method to your madness, and a madness to your method. I couldn't take my eyes off it. Pure poetry.
44:12 I swear that Hitachi stopped by itself even before Andrew touched it, it knew what its master wanted it to do. Andrew, you have changed the lives of many, including mine. Since I've come across your channel I have engraved in me the spirit of "fix it yourself" and I've saved myself thousands of dollars by not having to buy new. Although my tool collection has quadrupled but they paid for themselves already. I'm totally a different, new person after I came to know you. The pandemic also pushed me to change my values inside out too. You're a beacon of hope.
I've been hooked on Andrew's videos for over 2 years. Yes Andrew you do stuff that I can't do and I envy you. It was great to look back on some of your past projects. I was moved to see Levi again. I know he was your dog and he brought so much happiness to you. Please be rest assured he brought a lot of pleasure to many of your followers me especially. Good luck to you in the future. Cheers from Perth, Western Australia 🇦🇺.
Fantastic viewing Andrew-Your friend was right about the stuff you do many of us dream about the opportunity didn’t arise. Always feels like a looooong wait between your videos not so when it appears. Thank You 👍🏻
Beautiful documentary! Was surprised at how many of these clips I recognized. Thanks for taking on a journey through your life Andrew and we miss you Levi
This is so fantastic! This absolutely made my day. AC is a one in a million person, a national treasure. His name should be added to any list of antidepressants!
Congrats, Florian on creating such a wonderful movie. It's just like you explained it all those months ago only better! Lots of very funny moments, emotional scenes and some great archival material. And most of all thank you to Andrew for showing us around your property and trusting us to make this film.
That has to be one of the most enjoyable videos I've watched in a long time, thoroughly enjoyed learning about your earlier life. Thank you for sharing it all with us.
Very enjoyable video. The early biographical historical was interesting to learn about. The toy truck... great!. Seeing Levi again... even better! Viel Glueck Andrew!
Andrew , Thanks for being a great inspiration to all of us . Thanks for being real , showing us the good and the bad . Most of all , total and complete honesty . Thanks for taking the time to get those great shots in all your video's . I have tried it and it is no easy task . I believe it's an art in itself to get good footage .
Every time I watch Andrew doing his stuff, I have to break away from the video and do something myself. Truly inspiring and the camera shots are sensational .
