This is a joke about how Mr. Fantastic was an asshole who exposed his friends to the cosmic rays on purpose to see what would happen, and I'm absolutely loving it
@@sudanemamimikiki1527 I see. I never cared much for the Ultimate universe. It seemed to go out-of-it's-way to make some characters really unlikable. It made Hank Pym a straight up wife beater, which probably painted people's perception of him even more negatively. The original incident only happened once and it was while suffering a mental breakdown.
Yes, she is a nice person. But the world always sends you waves of events that would crash down to every one of us, and you always have to make sure to hold a firm control over your lives. She might have been a nice person, but her softness allowed others to over invade within her privacy. I am just glade she gained personal courage by meeting someone whom she could truly rely on
@@aviencloud4239 Then again, JJ should have talked to her about inviting Richard to the party and ensure he wouldn't do anything stupid. The crazy thing is that, despite being blatant parodies of the Fantastic 4, it's more accurate than the movies at times since Reed is probably one of the most destructive forces in Marvel.
@@christopherbennett5858 true, but u can’t expect to find a perfect person in ur life. Especially if ur married to egocentric Venture family who lives and dies for their glory
@@slanetroyard92 we all just forget thet his first act was to build a robot body to terrorize and kill the venture family. Then after he failed act like he was entitled to anything
It should be noted that Rusty COULD have Sally, and a bunch of other Women in the show, but his inner fear of success and childhood trauma holds him back.
@@NoircatMask Well sorta, but Sally was desperate enough to try and keep communication with him for years while with Mr. Impossible, aside from her I'd say his biggest problem was himself and his trauma. We already saw what his True Self would actually be had he believed in himself.
rusty is so interesting. he could've had sally but he pushed her away because of his own insecurities and traumas. i think part of his knows he can't be in a relationship with a woman. sure, he flirts a lot but if it gets serious, he runs from it.
@@maxacornit is interesting to see such a specimen of anti-charisma. Like, even if he tried to get Sally we know deep down it's never gonna work. When Jonas sr. does it it's scummy, but when Rusty tries it it's just sad and pathetic 😅. NO options will work because of who Rusty is and that's both hilarious and painful to watch
She only liked Doc because he was a way “out”, I don’t think she would have crushed on him if Richard wasn’t such a jerk. And I think Doc was disgusted by her deformity (the invisible skin thing). This is definitely a bit rich coming from a former child adventurer and superscientist, but I think he thought he was “better” than a woman with invisible skin. He went “ew” at Tara Quymm when she had a seizure. JJ was also deformed and I think he empathized with Sally. The fact she was a scientist probably helped, too. I think he related to her - she was confined by Richard and JJ was confined by Doc’s body. I also think Doc has an avoidant personality, or avoidant attachment. He’s probably very uncomfortable with intimacy because it was never shown to him or modelled for him. Jonas was a playboy who banged a different chick every week. Doc never knew his mom. He’s always been alone, and so I think women who are a little *too* into him, like Myra or Sally, freak him out. “I likes my independence” is another way of saying “I’ve always been alone and I have no clue how to fit a woman into my life.” TLDR: Rusty is clearly disorganized in his attachment style. JJ, who never had to deal with Jonas’s nonsense, is capable of intimacy and empathy for Sally in a way Doc has been rendered unable.
Poor Sally. She was originally married to a man who didn’t love her. Had a crush on another man who’d play on her affections to get what he wanted. Finally met a man who did love and care for her, only to “die”* in a space station explosion. Then decides go back to her first loveless husband for the sake of her kid. The poor lady deserves better. *I’m not so sure JJ is dead.
I'd love for JJ to come back as an AI just hiding away in some satelite. As an additional plus, I'd love for him to come back and have an AI battle with Muther who's been piecing herself together underneath the burnt compound.
To be honest JJ seemed more in love with his ego then Sally I mean he did invite her deranged ex husband to his party just to fulfill his ego as the next Jonas sr
JJ really did her dirty by inviting Richard. Come on,man! You invite her abusive ex to a party,KNOWING he's still obsessed with her,and you don't even have the decency to warn her? JJ really did inherit that Venture "be a fuckwit" gene from Jonas afterall.
I always thought Sally deserved happiness. I was glad when she and JJ became a couple. They had a really nice relationship. He was even patient and nice to Ned which had to have been nice for Sally since Mr. Impossible treated Sally, her brother, and cousin with nothing but neglect and distain; and you could tell Sally cared about her family more than anything. It's too bad about what happened.
JJ was a good man (better than Dr. Venture Sr. and Rusty), but he was still flawed. He often took priority of his career over Sally and he left her cousin to serve as the generator for Richard's lab, never saving him.
@@lordmanatee439 where does it show that ? Last time I saw him was when dean let him out of the chamber when the revenge society was trying to kill doc ?
Comments: nothing but sympathy and concern for Sally and what she's been through, and admiration for her character and abilities 5:54 "Most Replayed" The Duality Of Man
I don't know if Richard was hitting her, but keeping her completely isolated was just as bad. And he made fun of her appearance and disrespected her intellect even though she was pretty smart in her own right
@@bogiewoods3037 Nope... I've followed the comics for a long time and read many back issues. Mr. Fantastic barely treated his wife as human for decades.
@@allenlloyd1442 I've been reading the comics nearly as long, sorry to say. As well as the back issues. There have been many times when Mr. Fantastic treated his wife like she was a piece of furniture, or worse. It wasn't until the past few decades has he been treating her are more of a human being.
The fact that Richard is always seen with a pipe in his mouth is an obvious reference to how in the early days of the Fantastic Four comics Reed Richards aka Mr Fantastic was always seen with a pipe in his mouth
I honestly love the fact that in the end, she has everything that Jonas Jr. gave her and their home itself. Even though that Dr.Impossible is alive I’m just more glad that the two aren’t together anymore. Since the funeral indicates that they changed for the better and moved on to better things.
Reading the comments here was eye opening. It’s refreshing to find a show written by professionals who create characters people can be emotionally invested in. This from an an animated show on adult swim. Disney, HBO, Netflix and all of Hollywood should have taken notice and copied.
I love how this is only sliiiiightky worse from how Reed was to Sue in those old comics. All that aside, I’ll never not clown Rusty for fumbling his chance with Sally
Sally is such a good person, she didn't deserve any of the stuff that happened in her relationships throughout the show. I hope she finds someone that will treat her right.
I've just noticed that apart from Richard most of the Impossibles have twisted versions of the Fantastic Fours powers Sally can only turn her skin invisible her Brother Cody is in constant pain whenever he bursts into flame and Ned well we know what happened to him
this is just a theory of mine but I think the father & son supervillain team of Vigo Von Hellfire and Victor Von Hellfire are enemies of the Impossible Family being the Venture Universe answer to Dr. Doom
Personally i think the way he treated Dr. Qwyum was worse... the fact that they were childhood friends who already had feelings for eachother and he decides that she isnt worth it because she had a seizure as a direct result of their body guards causing a fight on her bed and lighting her hut on fire with everyone still inside.
I would have been down with her in a hearthbeat, seriously imagine being a medical student and being able to study the subcutanous musclestructure of the human body, but in a sexy way, just noting all the different terms down as you move downwards hell of an incentive to study
The continuity of The Venture Bros is always great and you could see it in the little details. At the end of the season 1 episode where Sally is introduced, we find out she's pregnant, and in a later season 2 episode with the Grand Galactic Inquisitor, she has a son named Rocket. I always thought that those two episodes were the only mention of him. But at 0:12 we see she is several months pregnant at the Christmas party. To be honest, I never noticed that when I watched the actual episode, but I just now noticed when I saw this video compliation. Just goes to show that The Venture Bros put a lot of heart into their dialogue and animation details! Can't wait for the movie!😂
@@Boston84 I did the math (Each season episode length x the number of episodes in season, add up the results) and add on the All This and Gargantua-2 special length, thirty minute halloween special, and Christmas special, and the whole venture bros adds up to 26.5 hours (Approximately)
It's taken to an extreme, though. Sue becomes one of the most powerful superheros out there. She is rich and can go shopping and be seen at parties. Sally is continually kept away from people just so she doesn't embarrass Richard
I hope in the comeback season Sally returns rocking Malice's dominatrix look. I can totally see Dr. Impossible using some sort of evil personality ray on Sally to get her back.
"This is just wrong, man". When you make a morally ambiguous government assassin judge you for your own behavior, you need to review your moral compass, lol!
