Mike, Jay and Rich welcome special guest Freddie Williams to the first ever episode of the Best of the Worst Selection Series, in which Freddie personally selects all three films for the group to watch.
an hour and two minutes in and I've never seen 4 grown men actually sitting on the edge of their seat with so much excitement, and all over the prospect of Cameron Mitchell killing a mom and her baby. they are so damn excited lol
@@LetsSmokePodcast And with these drunken, degenerate Millawaukeeans? Neither would surprise me. And, let's be honest... Bad movies sometimes do things that we don't expect. *GOOD* movies can get predictable in how they're going to tell stories..... Bad movies??? *EHHHHH.* It's a glorious crapshoot. Which is a pun that works on several levels with these movies.
FREDDIE! Thank you for critiquing my shitty high school comic book art at Emerald City Comic Con that one time! you were actually super helpful. Freddie is legitimately the nicest guy you'll meet.
Revenge I can now only imagine Unicron form transformers wearing a beanie and talking about he only eats organic non gmo gluten free planets while listening to a hipster band
Re-watching this in 2021. I miss Freddie. Would love to see him come back on a panel with Josh, Rich and Jay. Chillest, loveliest panel of bearded men and Rich Evans
@bouncyhouse you really think this was their first film really? You think they walked on set and it was first time picking up a camera. No many of these film makers have made low budget shorts. The film you mentioned were their first studio films
Not his mom, it's his grandma and she has Boyhood on repeat so she can't leave the recliner. It took 12 years to make, therefore it takes 12 years to watch.
We all know how glorious his laugh is, but I think Rich Evans’ giggle is underrated. He basically goes “he he hoo hoo hoo!” like he’s Pooh Bear or something. It’s wonderful
Pretty sure all of us are guilty of many repeat viewings of BOTW...the episodes with Freddie are some of my favorites. He's just so darn nice and charismatic.
That graph actually kind of surprised me. I would have figured that Low Blow and The Tomb would be much later on the timeline. It looks like he... actually kind of improved over the years? Or at least became less drunk. Good on you for attending those AA Meetings, Cameron.
"Kill Point was 100% class. I could see this movie being in many top 10 lists of best movie of all time." - This should be a quote in the cover of the inevitable blu-ray release of Kill Point
Fun fact: Carpenter Brut used clips from Slaughter High (among others) in his Leather Teeth tour. I had a "wait, i seen this before" feeling during the concert but couldn't remember where. Now i re watched this and all came full circle.
I like how all four of them were literally on the edge of their seats in anticipation of a woman and baby being murdered. I know it was because Cameron Mitchell and they don't REALLY get off on misogyny--but you could make an argument.
Cameron Mitchell served as a bombardier in 1944 during WW2 with the USAAF (as it was known back then). That alone is badass. He would've been about 26 in 1944.
24:26 just fucking look at Mike. He gets a legit twinkle in his fuckin eye thinking about editing this episode. He knows right in that moment that he is going to focus on this in editing. Sly bastard. Hilarious that Rich called him on it though lol.
Freddie, nice, it's been so long, great to have you back. Along with Gillian you were always one of my favorite guests on the show and hoped you'd return one day. Maybe we'll see Gillian again sometime, she was only in one episode after all. I bet she's missed flirting with Jay
The "older" lady actress they talked about in Biohazard is Angelique Pettyjohn she was one of the aliens Kirk bangs in Stark Trek TOS and Mike didnt point it out.... Im so disappointed
@UChN8IRyz7lsYjmqoi4h8utw oooh its a screenshot, i play games while listening most the time, thank you for making me aware. I feel like he didnt recognize her in the moment though only during editing which i think should deduct points lol
The guy who played Marty in Slaughter High, killed himself right after principal filming ended. The guy in the mask was one of the directors. From IMDB.
I prefer to think that there were more complicated situations involved, but man, everyone getting a good look at your taint is probably an acting decision I would regret.
As a British person, I never got the idea of April Fools' ending at noon. The only thing i could think of was that someone was getting sick of being tricked and made up some arbitrary rule to stop people.
This was an amazing episode. Slaughter High was a film I had seen when I was about 5 years old and never saw again. I would try to find it later in life but couldn't remember the name and everyone I had described it to didn't know what I was talking about. Thank you fellas for reuniting me with a film I haven't been able to find in nearly 30 years.
Supposedly, the Slaughter High ending wasn't a dream,. He actually killed everyone and then was sent back to the mental asylum where they fixed his face, but then he murdered the nurse and doctor and escaped.
Trivia: the nerd in Slaughter High was played by Simon Scuddamore - this was his only role ever and he commited suicide after the shoot, before the movie premiered.
Legit sad. Would love to see a hard reboot. Give it to RLM to do, but give them a studio budget so they can make it incredible. Dedicate it to the memory of the actor who played Marty in the original.
Wikipedia says that Simon Scudamore, the dude who plays the the killer in "Slaughter high", committed suicide shortly after production of the film. so no sequel you hack frauds!!!!
Damn. That really takes the wind out of the sails for the episode. It probably had something to do with seeing his own asshole on the big screen. That probably did him in.
Freddie is hilarious because his jokes are always unexpected and he's always on a different track of thought. RLM typically says shit I would say and are witty, but Freddie is different and it's interesting.
Biohazard was a heavy punk band from the early 1990's. Slaughter High and Kill Point sound like they could have been heavy punk bands from the early 1990's.
I believe there was one or at least a film with the same story. It's called 'Tormented' (2009) Directed by Jon Wright, even though its rated R, BBC Films was one of the production companies funnily enough
I was just randomly clicking through old botws, I hadn't seen this one in a while. This is a classic, there are few episodes with as strong of a lineup of films as this one.
"I talked to a guy who knows a guy who might know somebody who's seen a guy who knows a guy who might know a guy who might know something about this organization"
