I played the "Surfer Guy" in Birdemic 3! Shockingly, only one camera was used in that scene on the beach. I have no idea how the two takes look so different lol. And yeah, James has already announced that there will be a 'Birdemic 4: Garden of Eden', so get excited haha. You guys have been my favorite channel on RU-vid for years now, so this was such a cool and surreal experience to see myself in an episode. Cheers!

Be careful, James Nguyen gets butthurt really easily. About six years ago, he threatened to sue me for ten million dollars because I included a Birdemic parody in my graphic novel. He filed a DMCA complaint against me on multiple platforms and had my work taken off Amazon and most other publishing platforms. I didn't have the resources to fight the multiple complaints he filed back then and eventually had to end the whole series because of it. I hate that man.

It's good to know that the death of the DVD market hasn't stopped D-tier movies from getting made and released.

I really want to sit down with James Nguyen and watch Vertigo from start to finish. During the first hour I can say, "do you notice how this isn't just a full hour of Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novak walking around going up to random people and random people talking about the concept of vertigo? Yes! Shuny (pronounced Shoo-knee) Bee was my daughter's tae kwon do instructor when she was a kid! We went to a screening of his movie in Portland, Oregon around 2010. Great guy so it was hard to watch his movie in a theater WITH HIM. (I have to correct myself (March 27, 2023). The movie we saw was Gorkha Protector. It had a similar plot but was filmed in India.)

The random scene of a MMA fighter asking Shuny to train him wasn’t an unfinished subplot. It was literally just an ad for Shuny’s actual martial arts school in Pasadena, which is why he says exactly where it’s located in the scene.

I love Jay's ongoing disdain for dirty sets/homes. It's hilarious seeing him yell "Clean your house!"

It's been a pleasure watching Rich slowly realise that the only way to stop Mike making fun of him is to get in first by insulting himself. Such growth.

Can't tell if Mike was extra drunk or extra sober this episode

Rich being the only person to understand Mike's Casper joke, then making fun of Mike afterwards, just shows you how long Mike has been laying these terrible puns on Rich since childhood

The RLM crew were more crazy than usual, Mike doing the goodnight cleveland bit was so funny.

With 2022 and the loss of Leo Fong, it's inspiring to see guys like Shuny Bee keeping his legacy of really awkward martial arts movies alive. Some things just needs to remain in the world.

Weirdest thing ever, but I actually worked with the guy who played "Taylor Swift"'s father in Fight of Fury. He smelled weird, showed up clearly drunk, and made me so uncomfortable that I rearranged the shooting schedule for the sketch my company hired him for just so I could get him out the door as quickly as possible. He was supposed to be a weird drunk uncle though so it worked out. And he seemed to be happy to have the $50 we tossed his way for less than an hour of work.

The Kinder joke is the highlight of Mike's career.

I used to work at The Oriental and worked that terrible midnight showing! I also worked every The Room showing and saw Tommy sitting alone in the corner of our twinkly majestic 1927 movie palace while people laughed and applauded his suicide. He kept trying to connect with the staff and we kept pretending to be busy. I felt bad but it was also a sold out show. It's like a Twilight Zone where you get what you think you wanted but it is actually Hell.

James Nguyen shot Birdemic 3 on a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K. As soon as I found out, I messaged him and offered to color grade the film totally free of charge, as I use that camera on all my work. He never got back, and I was laughing at how bad the color grading was in the Final Cut.

These films have really inspired me to make my own movie. Seriously all you need is a cell phone and a Halloween store.

Seeing Mike getting increasingly drunk during the show is just the funniest thing ever. I also loved how it took the combined brain power of all four of them to make some sense out of Fight of Fury's story. And the "What....what....what..." moment around the 45 minute mark....just golden! All in all just a great episode, thanks guys.

59:00 Jay is straight up telling us (at least his) editorial process for when they do these roundtable discussions to the movie. It's actually pretty fascinating. Makes sense, too - load all the footage as they progress, special care by that episode's editor, and then have the roundtable discussion be the last bit of business needed before finally getting through everything. What this implies is that there's a little bit of ingress before the gang gets together to film that last section of the video, as Jay would have had to fix up a bit more of the setup to be able to put the entire movie in the editing timeline and skim through it and THEN get the roundtable. I'm guessing that BotW, normally is a whole day thing and roundtable is normally held at night.

Lots of comments about how there have been only two UK films on BotW before - Thunderpants and Xtro. Everyone seems to forget Slaughter High was also British because of the fine cast of English thespians delivering their lines in perfect US accents, putting Hugh Laurie as Dr House to shame in comparison.

I'm 90% sure that the sword in Mega Lightning is a reproduction of Andúril, Aragorn's sword in the Lord of the Rings. It looks exactly like the licensed United Cutlery replica hanging on my wife's office wall.

Birdemic 3 does not deserve such lovely cover art.

Oh my God, I think I've just realized the reasoning behind the random backyard with junk littered everywhere in Fight of Fury. I would bet money that the script called for that scene to be set in an actual junkyard, but Shuny Bee either couldn't find one, or he did but couldn't get permission to film there. And so he settled on the next best thing: A yard... with junk in it. Because that's basically the same thing, right?
