Its true but the amount of jokes made on how gay that sentences was on this show makes me laugh really hard (no puns intended). Also (Best of the Worst: Plinketto #1&2) were great eps, am planing no visiting them again XD.
@@richarddunn7017 , "the birthday boy" is an epithet that basically forms part of the name, no comma is needed here. You don't put a comma between the name of a monarch and their nickname, for example.
Almost seven years later and I still love that a teenaged Mike had the foresight to steal a bunch of childhood memories of Rich from Rich's dead grandma in order to embarrass him at every opportunity.
I imagine it's like Back to the Future and one day young Mike Stoklasa encountered a grizzled future Mike who gave him a photo album and told him to keep it safe until the right moment
32:43 "We don't know much about Len Kabasinski." If you listen very closely as Mike says these words, you can hear the gears of fate slowly clicking together in that very moment.
I found an old Reddit comment made by Jack, when someone questioned if Mike set up the big Showbiz Pizza Bear reveal at 27:34 "I love this theory...but it's a just SPOOKY coincidence. It was my idea to watch "Trick or Treat. (I'm Jack by the way.) None of us had seen it and we only got the tape a couple days before filming. I had never heard of the ShowBiz Pizza bear until the opening bit. It is possible that Mike watched the movie in the mean time to make sure that it played correctly, but doubtful that he would make it that far into the movie to see the bear(that scene was well into the 3rd act). But again great theory...Mike is devious and cunning."
Craig Williams Pretty sure Mike picked that movie knowing that there was a scene with Showbiz Pizza Bear, the other's didn't know though seeing how they reacted to it.
*Well yes, but actually no. Unless she spent a year in her teens taking trips halfway across the country to work with Rich at his childhood town's pizza place*
The dick the birthday boy picture exploded on Reddit and became a meme a while ago, seemingly from people who knew nothing of RLM. www.reddit.com/r/WTF/comments/2maxzu/happy_birthday_richard/
This is my favorite episode of BotW. The Pizza Bear thing is simply unreal. I've had a moment like that where the coincidence level is off the charts, and this Pizza Bear thing... the timing they chose to watch a horror movie, Rich's birthday, it's in a real picture when he was 5, he shows up in the movie they watch... I just can't get over it. I was dying.
Len Kabasinski I do not know if you still read these comments, but I would like to say that I have a lot of respect for you and how well you take criticism. There are many writers and filmmakers (game developers as well) that turn into petulant children when anyone says anything remotely negative about their work. Thank you for being awesome and I hope you keep growing as a filmmaker.
+Matt Cox (Pop Culture Primer) "There are many writers and filmmakers (*game developers as well*)" Mainly game developers, so many people in the gaming industry are completely immature and can't take any sort of criticism.
+kabasinski Len Hey Len, I just wanted to say that I think your movies look interesting, and I wanna watch them, but I live in Australia. Any idea if I can get your movies here, aside from buying them off Amazon?
I've been watching botw on a loop every night for 4 years... like I just keep cycling the playlist before bed. Every night. I think I've seen every episode 6-7 times. I never get tired of it. Honestly the perfect series. And definitely the best show on RU-vid.
You guys are lucky, I can't because often I'll fall asleep to an episode only to violently wake up to a sudden attack of Rich's laughter. I switched to Half in the Bag and Re:views before sleep, but BOTW is my go-to playlist for biking.
He had jimmy swaggart, a televangelist, personally targeting him as a satanic corrupter of youth in the early 80’s. Swaggart was later caught banging prostitutes and lost everything. Ozzy made the song “miracle man” about him. Checkout the film clip. So it’s utter perfection that Ozzy himself plays an evangelical Christian bashing metal as it was after the fact. It’s poetic.
this is just a bit under seven years before Mike would have to defend his star trek honor because he wore the Kelvin timeline suit. its also the dick the birthday boy episode. this truly is a special episode of Best of the Worst
I want to see a movie were a human astronaut crash lands on an alien planet, and then starts to dismember and eat all the aliens while chasing them through the woods.
Just want you guys to know that this is BY FAR my favorite show on the entire internet, and I sincerely hope you guys keep doing these regularly for YEARS.
his imdb bio literally has "At 15, he wrote the music for Don Dohler's Nightbeast (1982)" as the third sentence. it's his sole credit under "sound department" what the fuck
his career success can entirely be attributed to his disdain for addressing a viewing audience by himself as himself, but it’s always neat to catch a glimpse
God. This episode made me think about an alternate universe where the RLM crew never met and Rich Evens is a struggling Insurance Adjuster. Talk about a depressing thought.
It's cool that, for as much as they joke, Len Kabasinski is really cool about it. At the end of the day, he's a guy who wants to make movies and they love them for what they are.
I like going back to this episode. In every BoW the dynamic between Mike and Rich is nothing but Mike viciously mocking him, and here he gives him a thoughtful, personal gift and it's kinda sweet. Like he almost cares or something
To blazes with you, sir or madam! I was just about to leave a comment saying how cute I found her laugh! It's absolutely adorable! How dare you, sir or madam! Good day, sir or madam!
I have a girlfriend now, so I'm okay with not being with Jessi (or Mike), so now I can focus on wishing them well along with standing up for Jessi's adorable laugh!
Holy Shit! I've known about Len Kabasinski for years. I even went to the premiere of Fist of the Vampire. Before the movie started Len was announced, then proceeded to walk down the isle with a random WWE belt draped over his shoulder and handed it to his mother in the front row. Can't fault the man for loving his mom but the experience was very weird but very Len Kabasinski.
kabasinski Len Sorry to hear about your mom, dogg. That shits never easy but it's awesome that she was supportive of you and you were appreciative of her and you got to share those experiences together. Yeah, without any context the belt thing just seemed really random and genuinely confusing. haha. Like others have said, it's awesome that you've been a good sport about people goofing on your films. At the end of the day as long as you're happy with what you're doing, none of our opinions even matter. Keep it real, dogg.
I love the attention to detail in the sound, even this far back. With the nasty gash joke 16:36 when Jay and Rich start asking about the joke they missed, the echo cancellation on their mics is turned off, so it feels more like an 'outtake', because something like that typically seems to get cut in editing.
@@nathancoffman3025 6 years, 6 years later you make this comment. What possessed you to do this? It's 3 years later you might not even remember. Reflect on your past mistakes, and repent inshallah.
I have watched Trick or Treat and I can confirm that the ShowBiz Pizza Bear is not and has never been in it. Unrelated note, but does Rich seem... different to anyone? In the videos since this one was put up, there's just been this feeling of unease that comes over me whenever I see him. It's like he's there, and I can see that it's him, but *something* is just ever so slightly off. I've got an awful headache coming on right now so I'm gonna go lie down for the night. I'll try to add some examples of what I'm talking about when I wake up.
Wow. I watched Trick or Treat at the theater when I was a kid. I wasn't old enough, but my older cousin got me in. I totally forgot this memory until I saw this. Thanks for the nostalgia Red Letter Media!😅
I think this episode will go down as one of the best Best of The Worsts of all time: Dick the Birthday Boy, Len Kabasinksi, Don Doler, Heavy Metal Horror. Truly a tentpole video.
The opening joke where Rich "didn't realize he was supposed to wear a costume" falls so flat because he's dressed better than I've ever seen him...also the obvious mic. OH MY GAWD GUYS I THINK THESE EPISODES ARE STAGED.
I love this episode. Trick or Treat is one of my favourite movies and the sheer coincidence that you guys gave Rich the B-day shirt and actually see the Showbiz Pizza Bear in the movie is a priceless moment. Talk about a birthday surprise. ;) Oh, and the "giant salamander" that attacks the girl in Trick or Treat was actually an physical embodiment of one of Sammi Curr's tattoos, so therefore him in another form. He has the tattoo of its head with the long tongue on the left side of his chest. The movie is so dark that a lot of details are hard to see. Keep up the great work! ^_^
i am watching these out of order in 2021 and it's like rich evans is stuck in some sort of time loop where he ages back and forth between 20 and 40. mike always looks the same though
"..it's like rich evans is stuck in some sort of time loop where he ages back and forth between 20 and 40" That's just Rich Evans' seventeen types of diabetes continously going into and out of remission and relapse
