Best of the Worst: Vampire Assassin, Hack-O-Lantern, and Cathy's Curse 

I was sort of in the crew and a last minute "actor" in the movie Hackolantern. You would not believe the actual happenings during the filming of this movie. It was absolutrely hilarious. The interior shots were filmed in a an office building on Wilcox Ave and the dance scene was filmed in an artists loft . The nude dancewr was included so the film would hopefully sell in Japanese markets. I started as the electrician and was asked to play a attendee at the party. I am the third guy you see wearing a cowboy hat. Almost all the cast left before filming even started. Everyone was going to get a copy of the VHS tape as pay and an acting credit. They ended up walking through the building asking anyone they saw to be in the dance scene. BTW Hackolantern was the 4th title the film had.

I just realized Mike's contrarian streak was either started or exacerbated by the fact that Jay defended "Feeders" on historical grounds in the previous episode.

I feel like Mike is slowly becoming the antagonist of this series.

This BoW is filled with so many good scenes and quotable moments I feel like "Why so a boy?" doesn't get the love it deserves.

How did Jack get drunker than Mike? Isn't that going against the established canon?

The editing was extraordinary in this episode.

In Italy we call them "giallo" (yellow) for this reason: often, as I'm sure you've noticed, this kind of B stuff is cheap, and of uncertain economic returns. Italian thriller stories were no less unpredictable, and publishers wanted to produce books the cheapest, and the big expense was the paper. So, they used the cheapest recycled paper, that comes out was colored yellow for lacking bleaching, another process that would have made paper cost more. Thrillers books were actually yellow, and they did for a long time. I think the internet killed yellow books, since internet is cheaper.

“Why so a boy” is one of those RLM moments I always randomly remember and laugh at.

1:01:11 This is hands down one of my favorite episodes of BotW, and it was entirely sealed by that moment. That's literal weeks and hours of payoff for that fucking joke and I lost it. 10/10.

Mike actually hates Vampire Assassin. He knew that the rest of them would want to destroy it, so he picked it and told everyone to send more copies so that they would keep destroying them out of spite, not knowing that it’s all part of Mike’s plan to rid the world of Vampire Assassin.

The part where Mike asked they were “gonna say anything about vampires yet?” is low key one of my favorite RLM moments for some reason.

That little transition with the bats over mike's bored expression is so funny and cute. You guys are very good at doing this kind of little amusing edits

Holy shit, I lost it at satanic grandpa being in 'Blade Runner.'

Watching this in the great toilet paper famine of 2020, that warehouse is like porn.

Apparently the actor who played the dad in Cathy's Curse who said "Your mother's a bitch!" has been in a lot of David Cronenberg movies including Crash, A History of Violence and Rabid. At least that's according to IMBD.

This really is the best channel on RU-vid.

I was watching Vamp tonight and noticed that Hy Pyke was in that film too as the desk clerk. Unlike Blade Runner, where he looked and sounded a bit like he did in Hack-O-Lantern, in Vamp, with the beard and a different voice, he was pretty unrecognizable.

Amazingly, Vampire Assassin and Blade actually share an actor! Gerald Okamura has a blink-and-you’ll-miss-him cameo in Blade as a vampire elder

Cathy's Curse sounds like a 50's body hygiene/development film.

Some of this stuff is uncomfortable to watch knowing that Jack was in the throes of alcoholism and getting this fucked up on a regular basis and hiding it from his family, but what a classic of the genre this is.

I feel like mike has the best job in the world where he gets to talk about movies for a living and he is deeply depressed because of it.
