CHOPPING MALL bluray: amzn.to/2eciYBM Boooo! It's the 2016 Best of the Worst Halloween Spooktacular, featuring clown monsters, evil killer robots, and James Earl Jones wearing a giant bug costume!
The depression underlying Mike's "Rich is always right" reflects the cumulative toll these films have taken on him. Imagine having a friend of 20+ years, and watching all his terrifying prophesies come true. You can't abandon him because his laughter is the only thing preventing you from finally drinking yourself to death. What an existence. What a friendship.
Also the fact that some of them are in other languages, so really sound normal when translated properly. Like Baba just mean Old Woman/grandma (sometimes hag?) so yeah
To answer the question as to “why there aren’t any head explosions anymore”: they covered this somewhat in the Sunny in Philadelphia podcast. In the “gang cracks the liberty bell” episode, they wanted to do a head explosion scene “like in scanners” because they were disappointed how badly their effect looked when blowing up cricket’s head. The special effects guy told them they literally used a shotgun in scanners to blow up the prop, and safety measures don’t allow live rounds anymore.
What's wild is that the director of 'Clown' who Jack said "At least he's working, right?" Who Jay said did "one indie film and that's it" went on to direct 'Spiderman: Homecoming'
I've never seen a RU-vid channel with under half a million subscribers that consistently gets 300,000 or more views per video. Seems they have a dedicated fan base
ATHF is legit horrifying at times. The episodes dealing with monsters are often creepier than most monster movies. The parasite weight-loss episode for example...
I once spent about half an acid trip watching that show, and it was the first time I'd seen it. It was great, I had no idea what was going on. When I watched that series again I realised it wasn't because of the acid...
Okay I just finished watching Chopping Mall and when Alison walks into the Little Shop of Pets, as soon as she gets through the entrance, there's like a guy in a sasquatch costume who's holding up some of the set pieces and he starts moving before it cuts to the next scene??? I lost my fucking mind when I saw it.
Nice one Jeremy. You really got him good three years later. Im proud of you son. Maybe one day youll come back home? We miss you, and love you, and wish you all the best in your internet comment crusades
I don't know what it is but the moment at 48:10 where they all argue while we focus on Linda Blair awkwardly dancing is the funniest goddamn thing in the world to me.
It occurred to me rewatching this that the exorcist 2's writing feels like something out of a video game which might explain why it resonated with Rich & Jack more
@@grunderwaltz4072 It aged fine, dude. Just because he went sober (and more power to him, yo), doesn't mean that his older drunk shenanigans aren't still funny.
@@shugaroony Yeah, yo. It's like this: So, I get drunk on the internet for 10 years or something and get popular doing so, but then stop drinking. Does that make my old videos that people enjoyed before, during my drunken days, suddenly _wrong_ for new audiences to enjoy? No, of course not. Because that's fucking backwards-ass logic and stupid as dogshit xD . I'm happy that he's sober and that he's doing it for himself, but I still love old Jack too. The guy's just super funny in general, just like Rich "My-Laugh-Will-Pierce-the-Heavens" Evans.
I do kinda like the artificially kind “Thank you, have a nice day” dialogue of the robots in Chopping Mall. It would honestly be kinda good juxtaposition if it was handled correctly.
Not only does Rich have the power to predict movies, but he also has the power to know what the audience of his videos are doing, because i was playing stardew valley while watching this when that scene of him playing stardew valley cam up.

The director of “Clown” went on to direct three spider-man films. So the moral of the story is, direct an awful wereclown film, and marvel will give you a franchise
Well, to be honest, Spider-Man movies are his third-to-fifth movies. Before transitioning to features he directed stuff for Onion and after that he directed another movie, Cop Car, which fared much better than the Clown. So, yeah, direct a clown werewolf film, but not stop after that, expecting Marvel to knock on your door any minute.
@@filmjunkie975 I don't think that is a fair statement. The 3 recent Spider-Man movies have done very well critically and commercially. If you don't like superhero action films they might not be for you.
@@htpkey They have done very well in being MEH. Monetarily successful mediocrity, just like modern Disney likes it. The only thing that I can recall from them was that Michael Keaton gave a great performance.
Jack as a clown was such a great episode of Pre-Rec. He doesn't say anything, Rich completely ignores him, and whenever Rich walks off for a bathroom break or a drink, Jack just stares into the camera. Slide whistles, horn honking, balloon animals, perfection. Heck, the episode before that when they come up with the idea is even better. They joke about the setup and say "If the fans donate X amount of money I'll do it..." and the subs call their bluff lol.
I had Chopping Mall on an old VHS my uncle gave me when I was like 6. It was labeled Killbots on the front but it was on a tape with a great lineup of horror schlock. Started with Killbots, second movie was Night of the Creeps then it ended with Critters. I used to watch all three all the damn time. Brings back memories man. Some really good memories.
Critters is how I found RLM! I loved those movies so much as a kid and like 4 or 5 years ago I thought "I wonder if anyone else remembers Critters" so I searched 'Critters' and found their re:view. My life has steadily worsened ever since.
It's funny that Jay says that the director of Clown isn't doing anything, because he went on to direct all three MCU Spider-man movies after this episode.
I've had the worst fucking halloween. I came home tonight to see that my house was ransacked and all my money, electronics and jewelry was gone. After hours of waiting for the police to come and talk to them. I'm finally able to relax. This video made my night a little bit better. Really needed a laugh.
No matter how many times I watch this video, "musical guest Ned Beatty" still makes me laugh. I understand why some people don't like Josh, but the man has his moments.
Jay: "Pizza with pineapple is the best pizza" Okay maybe not the best but it's pretty alrigh- Jay: "Pineapple with Canadian Bacon" *OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOO-*
@@AntLeonardi01 im just under the mentallity that sugar and meat are designed for eachother, its no different from having sweet caramelized onions on a pizza. . . Its why so many marinades and bastes are extremely sweet. Be it your honey soy chicken, your bbq sauce basted ribs, cola soaked steak, sugar + meat is the bees knees. Exact same situation with pineapple on pizza. Its just yet another variation of sugar and meat.
Stop with this poetry you hacks.. Give the fans what they really want! We are still waiting for the Ishtar re:view with Josh, Jack and Max Landis.. Will it take 12 years to make or will the fans finally be heard??
One of the guys in chopping mall (31:39) is the lead from Deathstalker II.... how could I forget that jawline. (I may be watching a whole bunch of best of the worsts completely out of order in the span of a week, which is the only reason why I realized this)
This is one of the best episodes of the series. 34:20 Rich Evans: "Why don't you see anymore head explosions anymore?" Jack: "It's because these fucking pretentious filmmakers think they're too good for gawdam head explosions." Ha! And I I love pizza with pineapple. Oh, also, in Texas we don't have gun stores in our malls, either. Gun stores here have their own malls.
Jason Johnston I love how on nearly every episode of BOTW there’s someone with a highly thumbed comment saying “this is one of the best episodes.” If that ain’t a ringing endorsement for your series I don’t know what is
I have watched about four or five of these hacks’ videos in a row tonight, from all different time periods through their history, ranging from this one to one that was released within the last couple of months… and Rich Evans wore the EXACT SAME SUPERMAN LETTERMAN JACKET in all of them. Rich-ception
23:21 I love how they assume the director of Clown isn’t doing anything, and now he’s directed one of the highest grossing movies of all time (Spider-Man: NWH)
Bruh last time I checked malls were definitely still a thing. I work at one, can attest. Also can attest we don't have locker/changing rooms, for the record
Jim Wynorski. That takes me back. Desert Thunder where I was 1st AC. There was this fake computer bank which was just plywood with Christmas lights in it and the actor was terrible. I could barely keep myself from cracking up which was bad cause I was sitting on the dolly.
Fistful of Yen is the greatest ever. I love Enter the Dragon so when I saw KFM the first time It instantly became one of my favorite movies of all time.
