After a year-long hiatus, the Plinketto board is back, in Bog form! Thank you to our special guest for wallowing in our misery with us!
SPOILERS FOR THIS EPISODE BELOW...
BEFORE YOU LEAVE A COMMENT: Here’s a handy list of fun facts that we are aware of but didn’t specifically mention in the video:
1. The character in 100 Million BC that Mike refers to as "William H Macy" is played by Christopher Atkins, most well known for his role in Blue Lagoon but he also played a main character in previous Best of the Worst movie Beaks: The Movie.
2. The helicopter pilot in Stone Cold is played by Gregory Scott Cummins, the same actor from previous Best of the Worst movies Hack-O-Lantern and Action USA. He also plays Mac’s dad on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
3. The role of Ice in Stone Cold is played by William Forsythe, who we just recently mentioned as being in Raising Arizona in our Darkman re:View. Yep, we know that’s him!
4. The elderly police chief in Bog is played by Aldo Ray, who previously appeared on Best of the Worst as the pizza shop owner in Shock 'Em Dead. Please visit www.pepperonipizzapiepeephole.com for more info.
5. In addition to his roles that we mention at the start of the video, Jack Quaid also stars in a Star Trek TV show.
So as a reminder, these are all things we are aware of. You don't need to tell us. Good night and good luck!

It's so funny that in Hollywood standards jack only plays the "nerdy every day guy" when put next to nerdy every day guys he looks like a goddamned super model
@janeeyre1990
@janeeyre1990 2 года назад
Jim Rash has talked about writing a screenplay based on his life, but he wasn't allowed to play the main character. The higher ups kept auditioning attractive men for the role, and Jim asked them about it (since he is not conventionally attractive and the role is based on him). He was told that these men were "TV ugly."

I feel like Stone Cold’s ending is almost like a faithful adaptation to the book that inspired Die Hard. In the novel, John does not save his family, he doesn’t come out to a cheery crowd and endearing characters, quite the opposite. He’s left irreversibly bitter by his experiences/failures, and ends up mercilessly gunning down the last terrorist before finally leaving the building. Upon his exit, he’s mortally wounded and left to wallow in his own sorrow. Stone Cold is ‘most likely’ a dumb dick flick. But I wanna believe it’s a clever parody of late 80s/early 90s action movies, where the protagonist isn’t a flawless sharpshooter commando, but rather a careless hunk who ends up killing more than he saves, and in the end, has to deal with the mess he ultimately escalated
@garrettdavis8272
@garrettdavis8272 2 года назад
Also! Two things: 1) The ending part where a running side character ends up saving the protagonist is beat for beat Die Hard, book and movie 2) They say Stone Cold is a “sequel to a movie that doesn’t exist”, well the book that led to Die Hard was in fact the sequel to a novel/movie called “The Detective”

Jack looks great here; lean, fresh and physically fit. Jack Quaid on the other hand, looks a little haggard, probably due to his hectic shooting schedule.

I always worry about how well guests are going to fit with the vibe of the show but the delivery of "I'll probably be sleeping during that film...or dead." "I hope dead!" elicited the biggest wheeze-laugh that I've had in years

I cant wait for the end credits scene at a bar where two characters are watching a news report on Top Hat Monkey going West. The bartender turns to a character hidden in profile asking "hey pal, why the long face?" "Top Hat monkey...my nemesis...he's alive..." The camera slowly pans to reveal an older, more grizzled HORSE NINJA!!! It was a secret sequel all along!!!!

Personally, I think he would respond more positively to _"My Dog Has A Dog House And The Dog House Is Haunted By A Ghost"._ His directing sensibilites would really lend itself to the material... I mean have you seen _Interstellar?_

I appreciate that the editing made a point of Jack's 'youthful energy' - of course they would point it out as interesting, as it's so foreign to them lol
