@@TheeOK1 original amazons weren't primitive like in movies, they actually had guns on the island for one (And one of the tests for Amazon to leave island with Steve Trevor was to deflect bullet with a bracelet, which was a much smaller than in the gauntlets from the movies). Also in some instances plane is just Steve Trevor's plane that caught essence of a barrier that makes island invisible.
@@JA9339 i know. Still its amazing that cynical turd of a show is still alive while a classic like Venture Bros is cancelled for no reason. For God's sakes, there was so many story beats that were untied.
To be fair, roughly 99% of the cast has been loving parodies and homages to comics like Jonas being one to Doc Savage, Captain Sunshine one to Batman etc etc All except the Twilight parody one, amusingly
A big tough guy used to being the dutiful protector, always taking care of everyone else. Found someone as strong as him who is able to take charge for once.
Love the idea of him having a partner he can actually trust to watch his back and lift him up him the same way he literally lifts the whole Venture tower
There relashionship might be a good opportunity for them to bring back Molotov actully. Even if only for a one time gag, or just ome scean. So long as I get to see Molotov try her usuall BS on Brock then get put in her place by Warriana.
I think it was just fundamentally flawed between them. He’s a straight forward agent who doesn’t mind the odd secret or two, but spy craft is her whole deal and she puts her job before everything. He has no idea what to trust and what to believe, no matter how much he knows attracted to her. You could see it all at the OSI purge, he just wants a definitive answer and can’t keep stringing himself along while working in the business. It’s good that he found someone who’s life and work is simpler
The more I see, the more I am certain that Venture Bros absolutely did their damned best to make their characters seem like ACTUAL PEOPLE in this universe in stead of stereotypes. It was great.
Which is very interesting because each of the characters it creates is drawn from some clear tropes of pre-existing superhero or pulp fiction IPs. And yet they make it work... that's a clever writing team right there.
@@Unownshipper Yeah. You can definitely see the foundation they are using, especially if you’re into the things they are pulling from, but they clearly add a lot to make a proper character. Keeping with the building analogy. They could have just built a single room cabin and called it a day, but they built large houses with rooms devoted to many different things.
@@stingerjohnny9951 Wonder Woman is a goddess. She's only half Amazon. And she's technically not even full blood Amazon, she was created from clay and magically imbued. You and people like you project your fetishes on Mythology that you don't even have a genuine interest in.
@@lilkingg82 And how does that explain none of the other Amazons in the comics or shows displaying traits accurate to how they were described? I was merely pointing out something I thought was funny, and something that was absolutely intended by the creators of the show. The only reason I can think of that you’d get this butthurt is because you have a gigabyte of Wonderwoman porn on your computer despite never reading her comics and only looking up her backstory on Wikipedia. You projecting by assuming I have “fetishes I project onto mythology” certainly didn’t help my assessment of you.
I like that even though she's such a strong feminist archetype she ends up doing a lot of stuff that's considered very stereotypically masculine behavior. Like belittling Brock for getting in a pissing contest only to also get into one with him, Or trying to get rid of him after their one-night-stand, and then later trying to defend his honor. Whoever wrote her character did a great job, and probably had a lot of fun writing her.
The one night stand thing can be interpreted as her cutting him off so to keep herself from getting attached to him, it seems within reason for her character.
@@Pariahmary Well yeah, that's typically the routine of one night stands. You try to get them out of their lives so you don't worry about developing "complicated" things like feelings.
If there's anything this show was good at it was killing ships and try to create new ones...Dean X Triana DEAD, Brock X Molitov DEAD, Brock X Warriana ON HOLD since Season 8(She never appeared in Season 8), Hank X Sirena DEAD(Hank is WAY too clingy), Dean X Sirena ONE NIGHT STAND (More than likely, Dean called himself the worst person in existence for even doing that, more than likely broke it off) If I wanted ships to get back together...Dean X Triana is the only one out of all of them because it could have worked if Dean didn't listen to Hank and Dermot...Seriously, Hank is the most toxic character in this whole series
Brock and Warriana, both confidant and busy adults who manage to enjoy each other while still being upfront and committed to the busy lives each lives. Did they just give an image to a healthy adult relationship?
I'm glad that Brock found Warriana. It's healthy that he's moving on. Though, I would be lying if I said that I'm not sad that more seasons weren't added so we could see a fight between Warriana and Molotov.
She speaks with a North Atlantic accent, which may be a reference to noted feminist icon Katherine Hepburn. Her civilian alter-ego, Alexis Warrington, is a reference to Arianna Huffington, Greek-American columnist, author, and founder of The Huffington Post, regularly listed as one of the most powerful and influential women in the world. To complete the reference, Alexis Warrington even speaks with a Greek accent.
Also inverting Supes alias and nodding to Wonder Woman's Greco-Roman Mythological references... not to mention the S&M undercurrent in the original series.
@Michael Taylor the s could also stand for slave and the m master. The slave/master relationship can have a different dynamic than Dom/sub relationship.
Yeah I really like Brock’s arc throughout the series in sort of unlearning the more toxic aspects of his masculinity while still saying it’s okay to be macho. Gotta love it when this channel Trojan horses (no pun intended) stuff like that Update for clarification: Because I got at least one obligatory “angry no avatar reply for DARING to use ‘woke’ terminology” (including balantly used the “gays = pedophiles” dogwhistle …imagine being a Venture Bros fan that’s a HOMOPHOBE…it’s probably the gayest (complimentary) of [adult swim]’s shows) but *I don’t think masculinity in itself is toxic* and in fact I LITERALLY said that, I am not advocating for men to be “soy latte drinking dress wearing beta cucks” as some would put it to prove that they’re not toxic. I’m just saying one aspect I especially like about Brock’s character is that he is a masculine guy and not afraid to show it, but overtime becomes genuinely more caring and compassion (if still a bit stern) towards the boys, basically becoming a second father towards them. My comment was less “oh yes, he lets himself by dommed by a woman. Truly this is one step towards my matriarchal agenda!” (Even if yes I would be considered a “feminazi cuck” in your eyes, which hey…at least it’s better than being complicit in trans genocide) and more “he kicks ass in glorious fashion while maintaining healthy male relationships with other men and I love more media to showcase stuff like this”
@@SiRenfield People like you calling real masculinity “toxic” is why the world has weak men and pedophiles running them. The fuck happened to men for fucks sake
I like to think this is his healthiest relationship because: She can keep up with him (even surpass him at times). She can actually make him feel good. She acts a bit like him. And most important of all: She probably wont stab him in the back, most likely she'll stab him in the front but at least it isn't the back.
More Khorne than Tzeench. (Don't even ASK me to spell that last guy's name right. It's confusing even for an engineer like me.) "They won't stab you in the back, just the face. And only if you give them a reason to do so."
"Think Tank? Oh, DON'T EVEN TELL ME THAT POMPOUS, SON OF A GORGON is messing with MY man." Such a healthier relationship than Molotov Cocktease's 'on-again-off-again' ass.
@@55north74 That is the myth, but it's probably only an etymological explanation that didn't belong to the original Amazonian myth. No ancient depicitions of Amazons (that I can think of) depict them with only one breast. The modern explanation for this myth is, as I said, probably an etymological one. "Mazos" is the Greek word for "breast" and putting an "A-" as a prefix negates the word behind it. "Amazos", therefore means "Without breast". It would therefore seem logical that the Greek explained their name, the "Amazones" as coming from their words "A-mazos". There's differing theories on where their name might originate, both in persian languages, where a word like "Hamazan" (meaning "Fighting in a Group") or even in very early Indo-European languages (where something that I... think is spelled a-madschan would mean something like "without husband). So while early mythological Amazons were probably NOT one breasted, it's a nice reference to the myth itself.
"your beauty is your strength and i summit to it take me and let me know what it`s like to be with a woman there is nothing in this world but your power in me the only man who can see it let me worship at your alter let me know the pleasure of a real woman" i`m going to need that poem for a special someone in my life
@@greenweeaboo8924 I understand your frustration. What brock said was simpish af because he was under the influence of the god gas, something he would never say to any woman. lets be honest, If you ever say this to any woman, 3 things are gonna happen, 1, she would completely take advantage of your ignorance, 2, friend zone the living crap out of you, or 3, become so creeped out to point of she will label you as a stalker and call the police. Remember: If you treat her like a celebrity, she will treat you like a fan.
@@girlychan7947 "not curvy thick"? 3:12 says otherwise, the only physical characteristics that Warriana has that are not typically associated with feminity is her height and her facial features (she's extremely tall and has really strong jaw/jawline), i mean, she's not even super jacked, just fit
I love how its a faithful but also slightly more accurate wonder woman spoof, the amazons (supposedly) cut off their left breasts so they wouldnt hinder their archery skills hence why warriana's left boob is gone
Out of all the characters to call a wench I absolutely think she couldn’t be called one. Plus I don’t know if you noticed but she just subbed out for that random guy- fulfilling brocks desire for a pissing match. Bro code amended I’d say
Despite her and Brock being an Item, she kinda just stopped existing after that tussle with Think Tank, and with the series canceled Im not sure we'll ever find out what more was gonna come of her.
Wanting to bed Warriana is like being drunk and wanting to ride the mechanical bull. You think you can ride her. But, deep down, you know you're getting hurt. ^^;
This relationship kind of fits Brock at this point. Total baddass, always in control but through the series you can just tell he's tired. Dude just wants to relax with the Ventures, have an occasional adventure... given the guy plowed so much tail, it makes sense that now all he wants is a gal who will do all the work, and Warriana likes doing all the work
0:59 lol, H.E.L.P.E.R. bit. Has Warriana in ep but not in scene, editor probably thought it was way too funny not to include. If so, I agree. Clearly a legit hard core fan, good add : )
That lasso of truth made warriana caught her a man who loves her everything and doesnt berate her when both doing their own busy lives. a healthy relationship
It literally doesn't lmao, imagine being so (excuse the pun) far up your own ass y'think that being into certain shit ruins whatever image you have. Besides, Brock spends most of his life hard carrying the Ventures, he should be allowed to relax now and then-
@@Reg_The_Galah actually, it's perfectly fine between consenting adults. Don't let your flash-in-the-pan ideology get in the way of people just living healthy lives.
I genuinely love the dynamic between these two, would have loved to see another season where marriage was a possibility, if only to see the OSI equivalent version of the wedding that the power couple Monarch and Dr. Mrs. the Monarch had
Not going through all of these, but Brock Aliases: •Pop'n Fresh - Hunter •Brockness Monster - Shore Leave •Babe Ruthless - also Hunter •Agent Topanga Lawrence Hockey Hair - pretty sure that was his code name during the meeting between Guild, O.S.I., and S.P.H.I.N.X. when all the good guys and bad guys were going missing Regardless, DO NOT ENGAGE! FIND ALTERNATE ROUTE!
Brock needed someone like her. Someone who can make him drop some of the posturing, and isn't going to waste time playing games or just playing him like Mol.
Many people fantasise about what they can't have. In this case, Brock is so masculine that It'd be hard to have a woman who could top him... until now.
@@sullivandmitry1416 The second half of my comment covers that, because guess what? Sampson is also a mythical character who was a massive man of undeniable strength. My point was that since she's of Greek attributes, she might not even know who Sampson is, but Hercules still fits.
@Mister Goat they dont know what a feminist is. A feminist isnt a cool woman who looks hot while shes badass. Shes a human whose a woman. Riply, Sarah Conner, there are strong women who are well written and characters first. Being a woman shouldnt be the focus, it takes so much away from the meaning.
I wish a woman would break me Like that. And I don’t just mean break me! I mean I want to go into that room not knowing if I will be alive the next morning!
