I've been using one of this (T9 with top exhaust) for the last 3 years on auto mode. It works like a charm and the noise never, ever bothered me, even with no other sounds coming from my home theater. Oh, and it matches my Denon close enough, it doesn't look awkward at all. Get one if you can, you won't regret it.

I have the T10 and I think the price is more than fair for the quality and versatility of this fan. When it comes to protecting an expensive AVR 110$ is way cheaper than changing a 3000K receiver.

Got my T8 yesterday and your review was extremely helpful so cheers to you. After some preliminary trials, I've decided to run my unit in "SMART" mode, with the temperature variation interval reduced from 4 degrees to 2 degrees. I like the peace of mind knowing the fans are progammed to closely run ahead of the "Probe Temperature". (For any other new owners, the temperature variation interval is changed by holding down the MODE and DOWN buttons at the same time for 3 seconds.) Again, thanks for your very user friendly posting.

If your watching this video, and as such researching products like this, you’re likely the owner of or contemplating the purchase of an AVR that retails for at least $1,000.00 or more, my point is that a little over $100.00 is a small investment for the life of your gear. This product seems like a good feature set for the price and would look great with high end components.

This is a. Professional build of outstanding performance and should be protected for reliability and smooth performance. Saw the Youthman as always well explained video and ordered it from amazon.Read a lot reviews and people Love to complain about such petty items. There is nothing wrong with the price if you spend $ 3,000 to protect your investment....this is a No brainer Thank for your time...Enjoy

While ordering my Denon X6400H receiver, I bought an AC Infinity T-9 (thinking I would remove the shelf on top of the area in my entertainment center). It did leave a lot of space, and I was also surprised that a X6500H was delivered instead. I know a lot of reviews mention the X6400H getting hot, but even without fans, my X6500H doesn't get very hot: don't know if they changed the circuitry or it's difference in what speakers are used. Anyway, I first tried having the T-9 on top of the Denon. I would find that it was audible, and was fairly distracting to have it cycle to even fan level 1. I think also over time it would cycle more (even though I had space in my cabinet, there was still enough warm air accumulating to have it cycle more often). My cabinet doors are a fairly open glass: perhaps it works better with a cabinet that has fully closed doors and you also have other fans in your cabinet. The T-8 might also be more quiet with the vent going to the rear and there is less chance for heat accumulation on top. After noticing the noise, I decided to try a couple 120mm AC Infinity S3 multifans. I turn them on when I turn on my AV system, and they constantly run at their low setting. They are dead silent from any distance away from my receiver, and when I touch the receiver after being run, it's actually fairly cool to the touch. When I got my T-9, I did see the cover art showed it on top of a Marantz...if only more brands got away from the box design :-)

I am running two T8's in my rack system, not even watching this review. It's $119 now, but worth it. Keeps my Onkyo 805 and 940 AVR's under 84 degrees so far, I have them in an enclosed rack system with a bottom filter, and top exhaust fan. They were getting over 100 easily before this addition. Very happy with them so far!

Hey Youthman, I'm glad you are reviewing this unit. I've have the same model in my theater sitting on top of my Marantz SR7010 receiver and 2 things I would like to point out. 1) Use the smart feature so when it senses a certain temp it's fan would kick to a higher speed. I had mine initially set at 85 degrees but the alarm would kick in during the movie and it would beep. annoying. Once I changed it to 95 degrees the problem went away. 2) Please dim the front panel leds or turn them off. I also have the S8 in my family room to keep my Pioneer SC-82 cool as well. Good Luck. PM

Just mount A rubber strip in the front between the two. Kills the fan noise, and it Will even suck more hot air out of the AMP. The gap between the A-C and the AMP is really to big. It Will suck air from the outside instead of out of the AMP. If you pull the rubber feet of the A-C it Will even function A 100% better than it does now.

The possible bad problem could be IF the you seal it with weather stripping like I have heard others doing and the power supplies quit or the unit fails.....it WILL heat up in no time flat and if you don't catch it in time there goes the $$$$ you spent on the receiver, so the smart thing is to leave it alone this way you have not blocked all the possible vents......

I like it but just like anything with a fan, you'll need to clean it every so often. Its gonna draw dust.

hey man....better cleaning a little bit of dust every now and then once in like few months than having to suffer a burnt receiver ..the choice is pretty obvious

Do a comparison between Klipsch Heritage and Klipsch Reference. Does the additional mid-range horn of the heritage speakers increase dynamic range?

200mm Cooler Master fans would work too. Just one, or maybe two. But this thing looks better, so whatever your tastes are.

How would one power that fan to run on top of the receiver? I'm sure that sounds like a dumb question but I don't know so I'm trying to learn, thanks.

Some receivers have a plug in the back. I have it connected to my Panamax. You could connect it to a wall outlet or a power strip
@FinnishArmy

Geo Just Geo If you mean the Corsair fan, you need a 4pin to USB connector then plug that into a USB power brick in a wall outlet.

I run my Denon in Eco mode so it really doesn't get too hot. The sound is the same to my ears as running in regular mode so i keep it on Eco. I listen at the max about -15 db. Not to say i wouldn't like a AC Infinity Aircom😁
@Youthman

Rupterr according to Audioholics, when measured in Eco mode, your receiver’s power supply is limited. It’s like having a governor on a car. No thanks. Let her rip!

You forgot to mention how effective it was given your 76degree , 2nd speed settings. I'm curious... with those settings, how long did it take the fan to cool the receiver from 86to 76 degrees...or was the 2 speed insufficient to accomplish the task? I ask because I see there is only 3 fans on the bottom and the unit covers virtually all of the air vents on your receiver.... so seems to me the unit by itself would cause more harm than good if the fans speed at your desired setting is insufficient. Lie you, my equipment is in my listening space and I would need more than one as I have sperates. Let's us know it's effectiveness or if you no longer have it in your system. Thanks

After having this for a few days, I prefer the auto mode and I set the temperature speed at 1 and 90 degrees. I find it takes for 5 minutes to cool down the four degrees below 90, and it takes about 4 to 5 minutes to heat back up. So it's just cycling on and off 5 minutes at a time. With Smart Mode you have to go 20 degrees above where you actually want the temperature to be in order for it to be totally off. So if you want to keep it at 80 you have to set the temperature at 100 on smart mode. So it will basically be on all of the time unless you set the temperature well over 100. In my room with an open front enclosure on the T10 I can hear it even at speed 1 which I don't like so I might try the rear vented unit and cut a bigger hole in my media center

I have the T-9 sitting on top of my Emotiva XPA7 amp and TBH I’ve never really used it. During normal listening the amp just doesn’t give off enough heat. Besides the Salamander Cabinet has perforated screen on the door and its open in the back. Great unit but i think i dont really need it.

Awesome video again, Youthman! Definitely going to get me one of these for my SR8012. By any chance, have you played around with the different zones for this receiver? I'm having issues with mine. No problem playing music through Bluetooth, but it doesn't do so great with all the other inputs (satellite, Blu-ray, etc). By some chance, could you do a review on this feature? It would be a tremendous help. It's my only disappointment from this amazing receiver. Everything else is great. Thanks!!!

All Marantz receivers starting the 6013 series have built in vents thermostat controlled. I never managed to start the ones in my sr7013, aldo sometimes gets very hot. Any idea what Marantz recommends? Maybe a bigger temperature gives you the best performance from the internal components? And once that temperature is passed, they will finally kick on....hopefully :)

Youthman have a question, so does this unit stay on all the time or does it turn on and off with the receiver? I know the fans come on and off with heat but other than that does the unit stay on or do you have to mash a button to turn it off?
@Youthman
@Youthman 4 года назад
In order for the internal thermostat to determine when the receiver or amp gets hot, the unit remains on at all times.
