That is 100% dependent on year/make/model. Some vehicles allow the scan tool to basically "clone" the old module and write that info into the new module..... But again, that is dependent upon the vehicle. Some vehicles allow you to just straight up write a new vin with the scan tool. Actual programming from scratch requires a J2534 pass-thru box along with a paid subscription to the manufacturers tech site. Most guys use a laptop computer for programming. It is possible to do with a Scan tool that has a web browser AND a J2534 box but a laptop is much easier. I think that's the info you were looking for? Thanks for the question.

To clarify my question further, is Otofix D1 Pro capable of doing whatever Autel ms906 Pro is capable of doing since Otofix D1 Pro runs with Autel software? I greatly appreciate it. Thanks again! @@SlipFitGarage

@@SS-U23 Yes, it should be capable of doing everything as you MS906. And yes, it runs 100% Autel software. Other than the OTOFIX name printed on the front of the scan tool, you'd think you're using a brand new Autel scan tool...... but it comes with 2 years of free updates instead of 1 year, like Autel tools come with. Well, you've asked a lot of specific questions about a company that I do not have any inside info about. This is what I think I know... I believe it was originally intended to sell in countries other than the USA. The OTOFIX brand has been around longer (in those other countries) than most people realize. Keep in mind, Autel is a Chinese company. Who knows why they do what they do. Other than a few "Tool Truck" brands, all other scan tools are also made by Chinese companies. We really have no choice unless we buy Snap On. I can tell you that I have been very impressed with OTOFIX tools and when I say they are registered on the Autel website, that is 100% true. It's really not that strange for a parent company to spin off other brands. Goodyear Tire company makes several different brands of tires. Beer companies make many different brands to compete with themselves. Coca Cola makes many flavors of soda and even more types of drinks.... I wish I could answer you questions with 100% certainty, but I can't... OTOFIX is a great product. If you're looking at buying one for yourself, don't let all that other stuff clog your brain. We'll never know the full story with ANY Chinese companies, lets not burn ourselves up trying. Thanks for the question!
