Hi Phil. Could you please tell me if one speaker (Mackie SRM 210 V-Class) will be a good choice for small party in the Pub ???

What are your thoughts on the Presonus Eris 3.5's for dj practice / recording sets in a domestic setting like a bedroom? I already have a pair of Alto tx208's and a tx212s sub but it's kind of overkill and LOUD for just recording a set plus the space they take up. Thanks in advance great video 👍🏼

Hay mate I know this is old but I just read on the Pioneer website that they don't recommend using two of the DJ vm70/80's and up at the same time. Is that right? I was hoping to get two to plug into my s-11. Should I not do that and just go off 1 monitor.

So what are the characteristics to look to have a great sound quality? Is only matter of costs of the speakers or what technicla side should we look at? Thank you!
@digitaldjtips

Me personally I'd look at the frequency response, the materials/build quality and I'd never buy a pair of speakers without hearing them in person (which admittedly is getting harder and harder to avoid)

Used just about all hifi over the years but to practice in a normal (UK) house sized room, realised all I'll ever need is a set of small speakers and a set that has a sub-out I can hook up to replicate more of a club sound without the volume. To practice I personally favour distinct but not overbearing bass. Especially if you are manually beatmixing I don't want three tonnes of "whoomp" on every beat as I'm just making it harder for myself to distinguish the kick from one tune to the next one you are mixing in. I want clarity of the entire frequency range when practicing so small monitors are perfect. Dont underestimate their volume either. The larger speakers for me are a league most people will never utilise at more than 1/4 volume, but more a pro option. Not pracrical for a bedroom as you can't fit them on the desk and angle them in enough so wall mounting is the only option and they do stick out massively. Expect noise complaints if you do for any period. You'd need a big room. Great topic as going thru this buying process right now. Its not gone well. Bought and about to return a set of bluetooth monitors (£140) and they hissed continually. And lagged as you mentioned. Also confirm as a heavy bose user (amp, 5.1 cubes - 3 at pc., two above the decks on the back wall, one passive and one active sub then 5 channel stereo when Im mixing and a soundlink mini II for youtube, garage, kitchen etc.) Not sure about the lag between mixer to HP's. I can certainly check. Great speaker though (replacable battery most others you can't and pairs multiple devices), people still think I have the hifi on when watching tv to find out it's that. Any suggestions on a good bluetooth set of monitors the size of the m-audios with decent enough sound would be welcome.

Have a look at the reviews of the Presonus Eris 3.5's cost less than £80, the specs are very good, 1" dome tweeter, and 3.5" kevlar woofer. I don't really need them but I'm wanting them just for practice and recording and knowing me I'll justify buying them. ( I have a pair of Alto tx208's and a TS212S sub but they're overkill for the bedroom for recording sets)

Love my Adam A77X's. JBL 305 & 308's /mkii, Yamaha HS8's and the Adam T7Vs (not listened to TV8s yet) are all Fantastic if you wan't great sound for frankly very little Monies. I don't understand why folks always mention Rokits, they sound muffled AF in comparison to any of the other Budget ones i mentioned above, maybe the higher end ones sound better but all the sub £300/400 i have heard are meh at best. Gonna have to Demo some of those new Bose Array Speakers soon, the L1 Pro8 or Pro 16, they look awesome for Home/Gig combi, Cleveland Terry on here did a vid on them a few weeks back.

I heard for monitor speakers, you should be choosing between KRK rokit g4's and the Yamaha Hs5's. From listening on both, the Hs5's are more open and crisp but the KRK has some nice features which you can tinker with to get it set up correctly for your room. As for me, I'm stuck with my Audioengine HD6's for the time being.

These Pioneers/BX series, like JBL 305, etc., are for something other than the DJ, even in practice. Studio monitors are for mixing and tracking and need to stay right there and produce good mixing; I am a pro DJ, and these monitors max out real quick when using them, even for practice as well as front of the house, at home when it comes to small monitors for practice or small gigs... (QSC CP8s) are the ticket for overall practice and gigs, they are small but powerful and hold their own in any situation!
@digitaldjtips
@digitaldjtips Год назад
Some people do indeed prefer a small PA for DJ practice (which gives you a go-to set of party speakers too). That said, you must have your studio monitors pretty loud to "max them out" when practising, lucky you!
