Anybody know why my guy hates Creighton? I think they profile really well. Have an elite big man, and guards/wings that can score and assist. They blew out UConn. What’s not to like?
i learned in my statistics class at school that basketball games are independent trials, so you cant support a team to go far by saying drake is “due” and st marys is “due” to make a deep run. previous years do not affect the current year. same goes for UConn.
I think the hypothesis behind it is that the earlier the game, the less upsets the higher seed has seen happen. So if you’re the first few games, you haven’t seen that a 12+ seed is dangerous. However the later games those higher seeds are more aware that things can go very wrong if they don’t play to their potential
I don't have the sources, but I have seen other people show some data to back up the early games (Before 2 PM) being a bit better for upsets. I'd assume it's partially because the games that are scheduled at those mid-day times are the ones that aren't meant to be marquee matchups. So being overlooked by most people might attribute it to being more of an upset.
8/9 games have averaged out to a coin flip over the years. Unless you’re picking one to beat a 1 seed, who you pick doesn’t really matter. He’s talked about all the 7/10 games. He likes Florida (unless Colorado) Texas Nevada and he’s flipped flopped on Drake v WSU but has either one beating ISU
I woulnd't give much credence to what the college did in the distant past. And you also have to consider which team is hot now. They might not profile well or have good analytics.
The tournament opened up last year for the huskies last season , they had a relatively easy final four too . probably won't happen this time .i don't know who outscores Kentucky in the south , Houston scoring stats are not good .
@@buckeyefan3894 yes and they don't play good defense. But all teams in tourney have issues with two first round lottery picks ,and most talented team in the field .I'll at least not fade Kentucky and pick them to get to the final four . Purdue I have winning it all .
Purdue looks like the best #1 seed value, followed by Arizona #2 seed and Auburn #4 seed. I’m probably gonna pivot from the crowd and hope UCONN & Houston both choke.
no Im big on Auburn as well. Really only had one bad loss all year and that was the game at Florida, which they avenged. Auburn is playing with a ton of confidence right now and they also are last among all tournament teams in the luck metric this season. Meaning they probably should be even better than their 27-7 record. Very similar profile to Uconn last season@@cornymonkey
@@buckeyefan3894 respectfully the resumes are not even close to being the same. UCONN is 13 - 3 in quad 1 games. Auburn is 3 - 7 in quad 1 games and they get blown out.
My final four is: - 1. Houston - 4. Auburn - 6. South Carolina - 9. Michigan State People gotta realize that the final four isn’t just gonna be full of the top 3 seeds. There is going to be higher seeds.
a 1 seed hasnt won the ncaa tourney in 11 years. i think that will change this year with uconn winning it all, but my final four is uconn, unc.duke and creighton, i think houston is severly overrated.
I think Purdue has an emotional edge of something to prove , after losing to a 16 as a 1 last season .i think its a redemption tour for edey and co tho painter is the worst coach in the tournament , besides rick barmes .i have tennesee exiting early i don't like the way they played at end of season either . Houston losing by 29!!! To iowa st .i know it could be just a one off .but that jarred me off thenm losing that badly .i had been high on the cougars but i worry about them scoring enough .after carefully examing their statsv.arizona can they not wily under the presdure of not making it deep in the tourney .i like them togo on a redemption tour too .shotmakers usually shine in the tournament . people who can get tough shots .let the madness begin 😅🏀🏆
i don't drake has a chance to beat iowa state. Iowa state is the best defensive team besides Houston. They will just take away tucker devries. iowa state defensive pressure I think will be to much for Drake.
it's funny north carolina is so high on this list when they couldnt even win the acc tournament and needed 34 points from ryan to barely beat duke, and ryan didnt even have double digit games in the acc tournament.houston scored 41 points and lost by 28 . houston is severly overrated just like last season.
If kansas is healthy, they could make a Final 4 this heathly Kansas beat Houston, Tennessee, Uconn, Kentucky. Houston and Uconn are the most notable, because these 2 teams are guaranteed sweet 16 teams. Although Kansas is not deep, if they can get the momentum they are definitely a sweet 16 team. Kansas barley has expectations and their reigion, the Midwest, is considered the weakest, kansas can get hot and win.
@@joinjen3854 Mccular and Dickinson are the best players on Kansas. Without them they are at best a sub top 20. They are not deep and their best players carry their team.
