@@DrTomBiernacki thankyou for this wonderfully informative video,i really appreciate your help...The majority of my varicose veins are behind my knee and only on my left leg (I shattered my ankle in a car accident at 23 and I also have a skin graft on my ankle) and I'm assuming this is what has caused my venous insufficiency...I has surgery on a big vein that popped out the back of my knee,it was round and at first they thought it was a bakers cyst but after the vascular ultrasound they knew it was a vein and i apparently had many misbehaving veins in this leg...I had it stripped at 34 years old and now 7 years later i have a patch of varicose veins behind my knee that have gradually sprouted over the years...I'm feeling those familiar symptoms again, heaviness, aching and occasional itchiness and in summer swelling of my feet and legs...I'm a slim 41 year old female and i go to gym every second day, i also eat super healthy and don't drink or smoke....I'm wondering if because the troublesome veins are behind my knee if I should get compression stockings or socks ? I figured stocking but i just wanted to make sure..And for the fit king air compression massager would i be better off buying the calf ones or the full leg ones ?

I’m getting holes in my legs and ankles but not getting a proper answer what’s causing this. I had a Doppler done last year and it didn’t give me much but the doctor stated I have edema but not explaining why I’m getting the holes in my legs and ankles can you help me with this? The best way to remove them is to cut out all sugar, fructose corn syrup, and cut your carbs and starches. I’ve done it on my feet (which were the only ones I had). Doctors only want to prescribe drugs and surgery. You are what you eat and if you eat processed food you are sick.

Despite your thoughts on being barefoot, I switched to xero barefoot shoes from super supported orthotic inserts/brooks I used for years and I’ve stopped overpronating. Restricting your feet and toes in modern footwear restricts circulation I think more then anything. Barefoot is the way to go, just strengthen your feet slowly.

The stretch should be held continually for 2 minutes, as that is the ideal time to stretch shortened fascia. If you stretch 20 seconds or less, you make the problem worse, as the body tightens up in protection at first and then lets go very slowly.

I just discovered your videos and they are thorough and excellent! I take a holistic approach with my health the last 5 years and pretty much don’t trust most allopathic medicine especially after the last 2.5 years. I’m happy you seem to take a more natural approach. I’m slim, have always exercised, eat healthy and have been getting spider veins since my 40’s. I had 3 pregnancies. I got saline injections and a vein burned about 12 years ago and it didn’t seem to make any difference.😩I still have leg pain and a varicose vein behind my right knee. Sad that I can no longer wear shorts in the hot weather in public because I’m so self conscious about it.😮

I feel your pain but what's causing them is you're always carrying tons of heavyweight and walking and that puts a ton of stress on your legs and I understand this as a dancer who has taught in the schools teaching dance all day and on my feet all the time. I'm about 5 foot 6 and 120 pounds when wet. And a foot injury caused me to be very inactive over the past 2 years and now I suddenly have bad veins in one leg...
@user-js4sb4qq2h

I also think there's a component about how well our hearts are working and getting the blood back. I've never spent any of my life putting my feet up and relaxing and now I'm paying for it. Now I'm laying on a bed or floor and putting my legs up against the wall 10 times a day. God I wish I learned how to rest earlier in life....

Oh honey, let me tell you something about sciatica. I had it so bad I couldn’t walk more than a half a block without sitting down and of course the doctors couldn’t wait to get the sharp things out to cut and poke. There was talk of injecting steroids directly into my spine and surgery, however very fortunately for me there was a Pilates studio downstairs and I was able to cure my sciatica and that’s been 20 years ago and I’ve never had a problem sense and I’m a long distance runner

I developed a venous ulcer on the inside of my left leg which was just managed by our UK NHS for eight years. I was desperate so I referred myself to a specialist vein clinic in London, had a Duplex Vein Mapping Scan Echotherapy, Transluminal Occlusion of Perforators followed by Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy. It was the best £6,000 I ever spent and I haven’t looked back since 2018. These exercises this doctor is demonstrating would have done absolutely NOTHING for me.

i've gotten the bionic sandals, and they work great! Very durable a lot of arch support, and even though they are not leather the sole is flocked which means it's fuzzy so even if your feet sweat in the summer you're not slipping and sliding all over the place. Too many sandal makers don't take that into account.

I was sitting in church and one of my veins in my ankle burst through my skin and bled all over. It was very scary but fortunately two doctors there helped me. I saw a vein specialist two days later and scheduled vein surgery. My legs look a lot better because they were covered with broken veins.

Flight crews have bad veins frequently too 😢. Ive had several ablations done. None of my veins were visible. Just lots of swelling and eventually ulcerations. Duplex ultrasounds diagnosed chronic veinous insufficiency.

Notice when he stretches (at around 8:00 minutes into the video), his knee is FLAT, not bent at all. This works the hamstring. You can feel the difference. For some they can't stretch much at all, compared to a slightly bent knee, but the hamstring needs that stretch, even if it's minimal to begin with.

Let me say when you mentioned the foot and ankle going inwards I literally noticed that when I've done squats and not paying attention and my trainer catches it immediately and tells me to correct my form. Well that leg the side thigh a little above the bend is where I see a few spider veins...now I'm really really going to pay attention. Also my chiro told me I was not stretching like I should do I really not skip now I see the reasons.. Thank you thank you thank you

Thank you for all of the helpful advice. I'm happy I found this yt channel . I have tired legs with spider veins from 20 years in retail, although I haven't worked since 2009, I still do quite a lot at home: cooking, cleaning, etc.! Compression socks help relieve the pressure and some pain that i feel standing in the kitchen, however, I don't wear them often because I think they cause spider veins in my upper legs above my knees. The vionic brand is pretty good, but they are mostly made with synthetic materials which cause my feet to sweat; that leads to other undesirable problems. I really hope the foot and leg industry grows to include natural leather, wool, etc.

Thank you for this video. Going to try to incorporate some of this into my life. However, you missed ONE very underdiagnosed condition in men and women that causes varicose veins. It is PELVIC CONGESTION SYNDROME. A person basically has varicose veins in their pelvis. So no matter how much treatment you get for varicose veins on your legs, they'll always come back because of the varicose veins in the pelvis. I unfortunately found out the hard way that I have this condition by having exploratory laparoscopy surgery. MRI'S and CT scan didn't pick it up. Varicose veins in the pelvis happen due to pregnancy or trauma to the pelvis. As for me, I also have been suffering insertional Achilles tendonitis in both feet for nearly a year. There is absolutely no way I can wear stiff and hard back shoes. I've tried seeing 2 different podiatrists in my area. They both are very inadequate with helping me.

I got varicose veins and bad swelling when I was pregnant. I gave birth 8 months ago… and the swelling went down I lost half the weight I gained.. and veins were getting better the first couple months after giving birth. Now 8 months later, swelling is back, varicose veins are starting to go up my thighs now. My feet are swelling, hands are swelling, legs are swelling. And I’ll get random numbness and burning 😢 And of course I no longer have insurance after giving birth… So here for the tips, been on a diet for over a month now to try and lose the extra weight. I have compressions but they leave a line on my leg so they are def too tight. Hopefully I can find some that work & get these things gone and guess I’ll try the varicose vein cream. I’m 30 years old this SUCKS. Pregnancy definitely RUINED my body. Makes me wanna cry everytime I think about it. Wish I could afford a vein specialist

Ever since I started using ARCH SUPPORT shoes sneakers flip flops no more sore calves, we need that arch support inside the sneakers or any kind of footwear, unless your flat footed. You say varicose vein surgery but it’s not really surgery because their not really taking the veins out. Their either burning it with radio frequency. Using a glue to seal it off or taking some pieces of the vein out .The treated vein just sits in the body. Is it safe for a dead vein to just sit in the body? Also, what happens if the deep veins get messed up or turn into varicose veins?

Hello Doctor! I'm 33, after going on healthy eating for several months I contracted roundworms. Even though I was washing everything, but it might have been on kale I was constantly eating. I was given 3 tablets of albendazole. After 5 days I started getting pains and a feeling of movement under my skin on first hands and then feet. After several weeks when I got to A&E again (I was passing out and suffering from pains all over my body, couldn't sleep or eat), I was told that what I'm feeling is my veins. At that point I realised that they became significantly more visible through skin, they hurt, and one actually burst at the bottom of my foot. I was told that most likely it's a reaction to parasites dying and eventually it should go away. Since then month has passed, pains didn't go away. It's painful to use hands or walk, my head is killing me. No one can tell me what it is, nor what caused it. I was just left alone with this issue. I got prescribed more albendazole, but I'm afraid of taking it as I think it might have caused my condition in the first place. By any chance have you ever came across anything like this? By this time pains spread from my hands to my arms, and from my feet to my legs, my head is hurting as well. I tried doctors in several countries, but they can't tell what it is and don't want to do anytime. I'm just trying to figure it out on my own and survive it. Bloods don't show anything.
