Coming soon, I did not have all the info together for this episode, there are 19 clocks I've checked so far in Jamaica not including those on churches. Thank you for watching and please remember to share
Dr Bell who the MayPen clock tower was built in honour of was my grandmother’s grandfather. Nice to see that the history of the clock tower construction have not been forgotten
Jamaica has such a rich history and beautiful nature. I’d love to go back to Clarendon but hear certain parts are quite violent. I guess that depends on who you listen too…
This information was interesting. Years ago, my husband helped paint the Maypen clock. The clocks for many, were first date meeting places. What a fascinating video.
The interesting thing about the MayPen Clock tower is that it was named after my grandmother’s grandfather. My grandmother maiden name was Bell. I remembered as a little boy being told by family members that the clock tower was named in honour of my great great grandfather who was a doctor that died in an accident crossing the Rio minho river. Glad that the story is confirmed by this video😎
My brother's grandmother Èllen Bell aka Nèn-nen, Dr Bell is Ellen's Bell grandfather also. It would be nice if you could speak to my brother about the Family tree. The Lindo, yep we know them too.
My very first memory of seeing a clock tower in Jamaica, is of the one in Spaulding. As a youngster going to Kingston passport office, I clearly recalled this clock tower as my childish eyes travelled from the base of the clock tower to the top. For me, it was a fascinating sight. I was just learning to tell the time...a memory that has remained with me. You haven't mentioned this clock, is it still there?
No I did not have info for that one as yet, there are however 19 clocks in Jamaica that I have counted so far, but the info on most is obscured. Thank you for watching, please share and stay blessed.
Loving this one thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
They all fascinated me , the story and history, but, the Halfway Tree clock is the one I knew of as a child. It held my attention every time I passed it on the bus and knew there had to be a reason for it's stately appearance in the town square.
What happen no history on the clock on top of the Savanna-la-mar Court House and isn’t there a clock in Spanish Town as well. Very informative keep up your good work.
It is so amazing to hear about the history of these clock towers in JA. I didn't even know that there were so many. I've only seen the Half-Way Tree clock, and the May Pen clock. I was born in Chapelton Hospital and grew up in May Pen back in the 1960s. Didn't know that Chapelton had a clock tower. So far the Chapelton one looks the best. I wish the people would learn their history, value it, and take care of it. UP YOU MIGHT PEOPLE. Take stock of what you have and preserve it for your children.
Blessings, and thanks for educating us . This is very informative. I would like for you to tell us about the clock tower in trench town in Trrench Town.
I will get around to the others, just wanted to see the feedback on this topic, I am happy you found this video interesting, thanks for watching and remember to share.

if i am correct i read when tramp cars were irunning in Jamaica even the lines or track is at cross road it run across the road can you check that out please
I'm sorry you didn't mention the one that should be in Spalding. I am so disappointed to see how such a historical landmark has been destroyed by someone who called himself MP for NW Clarendon some time ago. Azan in person. Everytime I visit Spalding I'm very upset because of what he did to that clock tower. It was used as a roundabout for vehicles in addition to its history! A lot of these people wanting to be in leadership need to be educated! This guy does not know the value of a landmark! I'm not just disappointed but very upset!
So sad to hear that, I will be doing another part as I have counted 19 clocks so far in Jamaica, not including those on churches, so I will look into the history of the spaulding tower. Thanks for watching
