Woah, I made a UAVTech video!!! Thanks for including me 🐭 Few things to note: -UAVTech, supafly, and Karate offer AMAZING "all purpose" tunes. If you are flying a non-specific build, 10000% choose one of those three over what I have. Probably try all three because presets are so easy to try out. Since that "niche" was already filled by the studs I just mentioned, my presets are much more focused. I use pid-toolbox and basement tune all my builds with my hardware, pushed to the edge (hence the high gains). My tunes are listed by frame because in what I have seen, the frame makes the biggest difference to p:d ratio and possible gains (more than motors or stack or whatever). My tunes are meant to be flown ideally on the frame that they are listed for. The goal is to push further in some areas where a more generic tune may not. So, for example my sonicare preset has far less filtering than my Incisor preset. For example my tp3 tune assumes a toilet tank battery and has higher gains on roll than pitch, as such. Things like that. Lastly.... That apex tune is listed as experimental because I haven't gotten around to fine tuning the filters for that frame, so they are a bit conservative.

Hey Mouse, I’m flying the Quadmula Siren F5, it’s an H style like ur Incisor but about 100g heavier, think ur preset would be ok with the extra weight?

@@reboot110 probably the incisor preset, choose the larger GoPro option. Won't be perfect but probably a good base.

Thanks for the shootout. It's interesting to know how others approach things. The preset system from Limon has made it so much easier to help people get a good tune. It's a tough call to draw the line between a robust tune for general users out there and balance performance as well, but there is a link in my tune to further tips and a calculator for those who want to squeeze out more performance.... I know the Dynamic notch can get lower total latency but the motors never sound as sweet due to its lower accuracy compared to the RPM, so it's a tough call again....like most decisions...

Another part of the balance is usability. One could make a tune preset that was both robust for a wide range of setups, and has amazing performance potential, but then you end up with an insane "option" matrix and a preset with more options than the pids tab in betaflight, so it's not easy for people to actually use. I would love to see dependent/nested options as well as a combination of check boxes and radio buttons in the options to help with select 1 vs select many to help with this a bit in the future ❤

The way you present everything is captivating, concise and provides the right type of context for us to do further research too. You are a teacher by nature. Thank you for the video sir. I've had very limited experience with presets, I tried your 5" Freestyle with GoPro tune last night and my quad has never flown better. Flashing to 48k esc and that tune got rid of all of the jello on my RCO 5. Thank you so much for posting this. Keep sending!

hi i see in betaflight that you have a preset for cinematic. "UAV tech Rates with cinematic/whoop options" is the preset applicable for any build/drone like the gepRC LR 4.0 or the mark 5?

So question i changed my motors from 2207 1800kv to 2306 1755 kv and I used the supafly 5" freestyle preset no hd camera with the medium smooth rates and it flew great on the 2207 motors but when I swapped over to the 2306 when I did a a punch out my quad would wobble and when I would roll it would wobble. I was wondering if that preset should be okay with the 2306 motors because I don't know much about tuning yet and I thought that preset would be okay with those motors, so I'm wondering if it's my gyro

Can a frame impact the sound of a motor? Have always used apex frames and when i switched to another brand the motors sounded off (nagging laggy heavy i have no idea how to describe it). Put em back on an apex and sounded like i was used to (crisp and well not nagging).. any input? Resonance or something? Quad flies perfect tho.. any input would be appreciated

Probably a frame vibration causing the motors not being able to hit full RPM. Alex was maybe cleaner so motors could get to peak RPM?

@@tomblanckaert6055 if you are on the Apex, no. You should be hearing the motors "scream" at full throttle. If they sound doggy (like not hitting 100% RPM), then add m9te filtering.

That's a brilliant video very informative. I have a 5' build weighing in at about 780g including battery and Action 2 camera. I've had a Supaly preset on and although it handles very well I get quite a lot of prop wash. According to his literature with my moto KV I should set the Master Multiplier to 1.2. Watching one of your videos about Prop Wash I've set Dynamic Idle to 30 and increased the Master Multiplier. I got to 1.5 and the Prop Wash was still evident but not so much. I've put yours on today and for my build, it feels straight away that it's much better. The response is instant and the prop wash is already better than I could get it on Supafly. I say better but it's still there when I really throw it about. I set the Medium Build setting and enabled RPM Filtering. My ESC is set to 24k and by RPM. Although the prop wash is much better it's still there a little bit. Is there anything I can adjust slightly to help?

Hows it going I have a rekon 4fr and I have really bad zero throttle wobbles as if the camera is sitting on jello....I raised thrust linearization and it helped alot however I don't like doing that because any bump into something causes the quad to freak out....I'm at a loss....any ideas? Anything would help thanks🙏🏼 and just so you know the wobbles are very bad as if the quad is drunk lol bad left to right front to back wobbling all at once

@@uavtech hate to bother you I know your incredibly busy but I dont have anyone to talk to for help and me being a newb 2 years later doesn't help lol I have the zeus f722 min on my rekon I believe it has blheli s if I'm not mistaken so how do I go to getting blheli configurator ? Hopefully lowering the master slider and wobbles slider will help but if not then I'm gonna have to raise pmw 24khz trying to avoid that because I'm not 100 sure if I have blheli 32s or s

@UAV Tech thanks so much I moved the sliders up to like 1.2 and went down on d I think down to 2? Can't remember but it helped so much! My quad felt like my camera was on jello at zero throttle after punch outs and now it's only like 20/25% there compared to 100 so thanks again 👍🏼 I have a little left but it's now kinda propwashy but again it's alot better 🙏🏼🤟🏼👍🏻

well i just tried the uav tech 5 with a go pro and got throttle wobble and some fly away when giving small throttle punch's but slight warm motor's and the quad is a new build, This did not happen with supafly 5'' preset i don't get it anybody know why ? Oh yeah this happened with two other quad's as well .

Hi Mark, all RU-vidrs say that by increasing Master multiplier propwash will become better. In my case it just becomes worse, quad starts to get 2-3 biiig shakes which are visible on hd and BB, whereas with lower master shakes are muuuch smaller though a beat longer, hd doesnt see it. What can cause this behaviour? High filter delay? (Tried 1-2ms for gyro, and 1.5-2.5 for d term).

Lower PIDs will give a bigger shake. High it will be lower and faster. .check your Yaw P. Many times the shake is on yaw, and you may need to set it to RP mode for the sliders and make the Yaw P and I 100.

I have a rotor riot tanq and am just getting at every quad is a lil different. In my experience moving p and i up helped tame or end the propwash a little sooner and kept increasing intil it was noticable on slower decents. Then increased D. Wound up over 100 in Ps and my dmax is about 74. They get warm, i might lower the master some to see if it preforms worse but definitely take his advise first.

increase D-term attentions (formally know as TPA). Default is it just attenuates D-term. Change the change the cutoff to 1750 and set to 0.8.

Lols the karate came up pretty good in the flight testing 😜 just so you know it’s not got a lot of development it’s more a good slider based place right start messing with. It’s definitely ment to me tweaked. It was a full slider tune when none of the other karates were 🎉

SPEED UP: Yes, I speed up the explaination portion of the vidoe as there was lots to cover. If too fast for you, play at 0.75x speed in YT playback for normal speed.

I really don't get presets. This is such a subjective science. The difference in PIDs can be massive between various frames. I can't see how a preset designed for one frame could even remotely work properly on another one. You really need to basement tune each quad - from there tweak off the feel your looking for. I know its a PITA, and you could spend an entire weekend doing it (believe me, I've wasted my fair share of weekends doing this), but applying presets to just any random quad is borderline dangerous IMO. Some of these have D gains cranked up so high - if you don't already know your build is super clean, then you could easily fry an ESC or motor.

Nah, once you get the pids for the quad class close, that pretty much works for a lot of setups within the class. I like to say you are 80% to 90% of the way there. If you want the last 20 to 10%, that is tuning. P/D balance for example, across all those presets it varied, but it was fine on this quad and I suspect for many others. Same for i/P balance.
