I just noticed your vocal lessons three days ago. They are all down to earth instructions and can be applied to my singing right away. I just kept watching your videos one after another. Couldn’t stop. You are a great teacher. Thank you so much.
It's funny how the other channels with hundreds of thousands of subscribers won't give these tips.. I've been following a couple but this channel is the best yet :D
I’ve been singing for fun for 13 years, and have been doing musical theatre for 3 years now but really want to improve my vocal skills and this video was really helpful! Thank you!!
The greatest part about your teachings is not just about the tips. I've realised that paying attention to your voice also helps. For example we can all practice good vowels but if they're not open as yours sound then it's not good.
Thank you so much. I’m a musician who has always listened to the band but never the singer. Now I’m 75 years old and ready to sing! Your dictation is inspiring.
That's exactly how I want people to teach, when I saw You defining the things that make singers sound dull, in an instant I saw it was me. I sound dull and was not sure what to emphasize on. Now your tips really gonna help me elevate my singing
I have been using your videos to warm up for the past few days. Aside from your amazing tips I love that you sing a lot in your lower register. It gives me hope as a contralto I can extend my range in time. Thank you for what you do
I had somewhat of an advantage in this area because my mother was very hard on us about our diction with speaking. So I learned this lesson long before I started studying voice for singing.
@@Victoria-Victorious I just started practicing "unbreak my heart" by Toni Braxton. I have to really get into the story of the song to get it right. My "Divine coach" helped me to appreciate this through show tunes since all the songs are stories. Get into character and the song comes out right.
4:57 I find well done: "the lips, the teeth, the tip of the tongue" - I was able to lean that by heart in one gust; and that's because it was laid in rhythm. What I take from here - reflect on consonants and rhythm. No one will easily admit that the rhythm is more important than the lyrics? I follow suit and watch through, eager to know more. Thank you so much so far! P. S. In some other video of yours I found out about the muscles of the mouth exclusively doing the vowels and the consonants, that may be trivial knowledge but should be emphasized here for such kind of beginners as me (surprised to find out that the letter idiom appears as grammatically correct: such kind of beginners as me. Let me know if the AI is wrong - and never mind) who thinks of cords and lungs only. P.S. You didn't say the tongue is first in line, but I think so because of the "meaning" of language. I shall always watch my language :-)
Great job explaining the importance of diction in singing. Unfortunately, many singers today focus on how to sing a whistle note or do great runs, and less focus on diction which is far more important.
Thank you so much for this helpful video, Victoria! I wish you could listen to how I sing and give me practical advice or feedback on which area I need to improve on. But for now, I'll just take advantage of your free tutorials..:-)
... the lips, the theet, the tip of the tongue!!!! 💕💕💕💕👏👏👏👏👏💕💕💕💕 ...not difficult; due to I'm a trilingual guy, English, Spanish, and Swedish Viking... ... but I liked this exercise very much, my dear Master Victoria... 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I have a QUESTION: When I excercise vocally (and I'm not a professional singer) and I go to higher frequencies I start to strain. Is it possibile that I finally eliminate the strain by doing right excercises? I cannot eliminate it right away. It's like the more I think about it the more my brain tells me to use my throat.
Yes, exercises are what build and train the voice, then you need to to apply them to your songs. Make sure that your middle and upper middle voice is comfortable and balanced before jumping into high notes. Here is my video on high notes: Stop Straining on High Notes! 6 STEPS Right Here! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vLukxe-dsKg.html
How can we sing with breathy voice , the kind of voice in which Ariana Grande sings her song pov or in which Taylor swift sings willow. Is there any exercise to accomplish that ?
Clean closure means that the vocal folds are closing properly. You can tell because your voice will be clear and not breathy, and not tight or squeezed either.
@@Victoria-Victorious Yess for sure i understand now ...one more query was that as beginner hearing my own recording makes me feel that this is not my voice .it sounds dry or not proper too sometimes i dont why this happening?? and it makes me doubt everything i am doing to improve my voice . Do you have any solution to this . ?
I teach online via Zoom, FaceTime or Skype. I have a fairly long waitlist for lessons. Please send me a note through my website if interested. www.healthyvocaltechnique.com/get-started-today/
@@Victoria-Victorious to establish runs and riffs what should be the base for it ? Like what do i need to practice well to get ready to learn riffs and runs ?
Practice singing scales at a moderate tempo, then speed up, only going as fast as you can sing the notes accurately. Do the same thing with any fast passages in a song.
PLEASE - PLEASE offer your expertise to President Biden! PLEASE He MUST have professional coaching to come across crisp, clear, energetic ,and capable. Perhaps our democracy depends on it. I have my thoughts of course but with your expertise I know you can help him. On the other hand, if you're maga, nevermind. I would like to know what you think. I am a Tier 2 Member and am looking forward to the upcoming workshop and interested in your thoughts.
I know you are not officially a speech coach, but what he needs is vocal distinction cadence, and clarity,. It's okay, even strong sometimes , but not consistent enough, especially when he feels under pressure. I could help him I know, but I don't have the credentials you do. Whoever may be helping him currently is not cutting it. Perhaps we can talk more about this soon.
