I think they come out from the factory like that. Good spotting, most people wouldn't even notice. Headliner has since been replaced with a brand new one, will be interesting to see how long that one will last.
If fuel consumption is an issue, you wouldn't buy a GT or even any V8 for that matter. But when you hear the V8 burble, it doesn't matter! Thanks for the comprehensive rundown
There is a difference between it being an issue and knowing what it is. No one mentioned that it was an issue. But when you are paying over $2 a litre it would definitely become an issue real fast if you have to drive an hour to work and back every day.
@MikesManCave There is a petrol app called Petrol Spy. It provides relatively updated petrol prices in the vicinity or by entering postcode. It relies on input from others. Also the 7/11 app you can lock in fuel prices.
Will try and get to it, have a few jobs to do on this car, so there might be a few more videos coming up soon, then it will go back to the tuner for some final power upgrades. There should be plenty of car content over the next 12 months.
I've just compared the numbers to my BMW M140i. Driving "normally" on 98 octane fuel I average 13.4 liters per 100km. These cars have a 3 liter straight 6 hybrid turbo engine. I'd say it's good that you're getting better fuel economy than me! Especially for the size of the engine in that car mate. I'm assuming its a 4 or 5 liter V8 engine?
This car is a custom tuned and has a 5.4 litre quad cam V8, full sports exhaust and high flow cats plus a few other goodies I will go into in a future video. Engine makes 370rwhp in it's current state with a 6 speed manual. There will be some future upgrades hoping for 400rwp or 300rwkw, I will not take it any further than that as it will kill drivability and reliability. BMW's are not known for economy either, so yours sounds about right.
@@MikesManCavel have the baby 260kw BA XR8 2004 model, it's almost 20yo now, on a full 68ltr tank l get around 440km city driving sticking to the speed limit, it's about 15.1ltrs per 100km, that's with a 20 cents piece sized hole in each muffler.
G'day Mike Can you please tell me what you had done to the GT, I'm driving BF GT Cobra 302kw 6speed ZF auto exactly the same as when purchased as of today still only got 5900klm on it. Cheers Anthony
@@user-ic9ne9fm6s No idea, I bought the Yella Terra set up back in 2007 as part of a group buy organised on Ford Forums through a forum sponsor, cat back exhaust was fitted by dealer before delivery, fitted headers and cats when I fitted the TY intake and tune. Save money doing it once rather than keep adding stuff and retuning each time. Been like this since 2007 or 2008, was 16 or 17 years ago now, long forgotten about the cost. But nothing is cheap I know that. Would love to fit Herrod cams, but prices are crazy now, looking at several 1000's to do it. Still have underdrive pulleys sitting in shed that I bought in another group buy about 12 years ago, still not fitted 🤣🤣
Yes, of course it is,13 litres for 100km while making 400hp and having AC and leather trim is terrible compared to my 351 that drink more than double that to make half the power..🤣
