About the delicacy dragon: one clean way to deal with it is unkilliax (or any poisonous minions, but that's just the most likely answer here). And I'd say the dragon is a better target for something like Spill than the elemental because of the fact that it only takes 1 point of damage, minimizing the downside.
My personal ranking of the Warrior cards: - Hamm, the Hungry: 4/5 Delicious and juicy, that roll looks especially good (Signature art gets a 1/5 - there's a bit of tasty food but most of it is gone) - The Ryecleaver: 0/5 no food, but the Slice of Bread card gets a 4/5 while Minion Sandwich gets a 1/5 for looking kinda gross - Draconic Delicacy: 4/5 the food at the bottom looks good, -but the dragon is smashing a lot of it and I don't know if he's washed his hands- If the dragon is part of the meal, it's safe to assume it's been cleaned - Food Fight: 2/5 that crab is huge and would be delicious, but uncooked food doesn't look that tasty (Entree gets a 4/5 though) - Char: 3/5 That plate of food and fish look tasty but the fish is gonna get overcooked! - Undercooked Calamari: 2/5 for the same reason as Food Fight - All You Can Eat: 5/5 GOD TIER BABY! - Muensterosity: 4/5 I love cheese. I would give this a 5/5 but the elemental is alive and I like my food dead - Line Cook: 5/5 That food looks amazing and the cook is havin a hell of a time. Love to see it - Cup o' Muscle: Main art is 4/5 but each subsequent card loses a point because there's much less food
But the dragon *is* the food! So you should have washed its hands (and everything else) before chucking it on the smoker. And I guess the effect is you taking one small bite at a time.
I’d be so much more excited if Hamm ate minions out of the opponent’s hand like Mutanus, but it still probably gets played just because it’s a Tourist card. Weird how much disparity there is between the power of independent effects on the different classes’ Tourist cards
Until now I never considered "taunt" to be a tag added to make a card WORSE by denying it the ability to hide behind other taunts. Well, in battlegrounds removing taunt from a minion to delay being hit is a thing, so I wonder why it so long for "Hamm" to drive that point home for me. I can't even remember a card that made me go "I wish this didn't have taunt" before. Anyone any ideas?
That feels like a card taunt warrior wouldn't want to run, but neither would non taunt decks. Its a really fun design, and with stats in addition to taunt it has potential but i think it'd have a lot of difficulty finding a home
@@mattd824 A semi simple fix would be to make it a minion. Similar to Twilight Geomancer, a 2 mana 1/4 taunt card that gave C'thun taunt but would instead provides taunt to all minions on your hand. This way it can both be buffed by taunt buffing cards as well as provide the buffing opportunities to non-taunt minions. This way even non-taunt warrior decks could run a one off to slow down aggro decks.
Even if Hamm eating in deck is often a nonfactor, if theres a critical mass of disruption they can start to matter. Like, dirty rats with hamm (especially if it sticks around) in a control warrior of shell quickly becomes less of a nonfactor and more of a win condition, particularly if they print any other mutanus/hecklebot/etc cards. I agree a one-off hamm with nothing else is purely going for highroll. But in a denial package it could work if the metagame is ever combo oriented (like sniping an owlonious OR chia drake) to instantly kill it. Still meta game dependent but we've seen those decks work before.
OK now I'm kinda hyped to play a beast handbuff hunter deck with the amalgam that keeps enchantments. I think that could go somewhere with the repeat cards, beast tutoring, and the ten gallon hat. Imagine ten gallon hat into the amalgam, it dies and you get another hat to get another bigger amalgam. On top of that you can run the 3 mana draw 3 minion types and draw the amalgam, a beast, and the undead deathrattle doubler. I think this kinda cooks (pun intended)
Well in standard i can imagine Hamm being weak, however im scared of him in wild where SOMEONE is going to make a deck to specifically summon 7 of him on board and fucking ruin people's decks
Draconic Delicacy could be a pretty good Chemical Spill target, since it only takes 1 damage from it, instead of 5. That could push the card out at a time when it completely shuts down any aggressive minion based deck, as they tend not to have an answer to it.
Nobody gonna talk about how you can use food fight to boardlock your opponent? I know it's not effective or good and it'll probably only work in wild, but boy it sounds fun
I would go as far as saying that even a high roll from Hamm the Hungry is totally irrelevant. Whatever valuable minion you ate can just be seen as having that card on the bottom of their deck, essentially.
The issue is the "nothing lives more than a turn" meta. At "procs once" Hamm is REALLY bad comparatively to other cards remotely like him in the past. And as buff-able taunt there is way better for cheaper(either removing from hand, denying a draw, or . This could have said "to all cards in hand" and it would still be worse than other cards. The taunt even further prevents it to survive a turn. And 3 or 5 health in front at turn6+ just means dead next round, always. And does nothing against You can't build a deck around it, and basically any deck where it fits in gets WORSE by what you take out.
Hm... Step 1: get three drakkari enchanters in your hand which turns golden. Step 2: play this and enchanter for 9 mama, Step 3: enjoy your 6 energy 9/9 and a random 1 mana 2/6
That dragon might become a nightmare for some decks! Unkilliax has become popular lately and DK has poison but I think most decks only have a single titan and sometimes not even that to deal with it cleanly
I feel like the specific combo of Rycleaver and All you Can Eat is being monstrously overlooked. There's some real swing potential with some of the big minions and that.
almost all of these cards seem great for black rock and roll, still likely wont be a consistent deck but these are some great control tools, that are also insane pay offs when it does hit.
Cup of muscle has three nice targets for charge plays (Leeroy and the stat adding girl common), as long as it hits any one of the three and Leeroy ends up in your hand at some point, its +6 charge dmg in one card for 3 mana. Wouldnt discount that so quickly imo
I think Regis is really under-rating Food Fight. The big weakness of AOE clears like Brawl or Sanitize is that they pass the tempo back to your opponent to develop another board next turn that you have to answer again. Being able to clear their board and present your own large threat on the same turn makes a big enough tempo swing to win games.
I think the big payoff will be when the dragon, cheese elemental and Hamm all pop out of the Ryecleaver sandwich. This will happen in 0% of my games and roughly 100% of my opponents'.
Mechanic wise, do we know if we have a Tourist card in our deck can we discover cards from that other class? And does Elusive work in hand to buff with Cup o' Muscles or no?
Tourists only allow the cards to be added to the deck from this set and the specified class (other than the other tourists) and does not affect discover. Only deck construction. Regis said so in his first video, confirmed by Blizzard. Elusive only applies on board. Also, cup o' muscle probably buffs a random minion rather than targeted. We'll have to see since the wording is missing (target minion vs random minion)
Is anyone else disappointed that there isn't really a new mechanic in this expansion? Yes, there's the Tourist keyword, but like.....come on. They basically reskinned dual class cards and slapped on a new name. The only real mechanical difference between the two is how they interact with Tess Rogue. This nit-pick of a distinction can't possibly justify Tourist being the expansion's load-bearing New Thing™, right? Non-neutral multi-class cards have already been in HS for 8 years. For context, Obama was still the president of the United States when Blizzard released Mean Streets. Tourist is honestly more akin to a keyword like Elusive. Shouldn't the bar be at least a little bit higher than this?
You compared Char to Helm of humiliation but I think this DK card isnt played just because of his 2 red gems, if it were just one red gem Inthonk it would be played in Rainbow handbuff DK it's good
Linecook seems completely insane as a card draw engine for combo decks. Sure, at the upper end of "failing to force the combo draws" this sucks because it keeps diluting your deck. But at the low to mid rng this is insane "neverending 1 mana draw a card"..
@@eamk887 minions nowadays are so easily removable by non aggro decks though, single target spell removals, aoe spell removals, poisonous, unkilliax (poisonous, hex proof, reborn + divine shield, lifesteal, rush module), ignis weapon (poisonous + battlecry deal damage). I just can't see a world where just big stats + taunt is too OP
Hamm looks like an early candidate to receive buffs in balance patches. It's just so weak. A 5/5 for 6 is awful. The druid cards are gonna need to be incredible to justify running this card.
I think you allways underestimate cards like Hamm. Yes his effect alone is not good. But he is a constetn effect meaning he need in most cases a respons the same turn. Cards like this are basicly a hidden mana tax for the enemy. Playing him on your turn 6 basicly force the enemy to skip his turn 6 in most cases as well. On top of that he is a tourist.
