Yeah, as a Wild player who runs Guff in a deck, I can't wait to run 30+ mana in a turn lol. Also I run a couple refreshes, so there's the disgusting high roll possibility of running 60+ mana turns.
I can't wait for Mark to try to get to the highest mana possible in wild. With Solar Eclipse, having multiple ways to copy New Heights and reaching maximum mana just to Peddler win at the end
@@gTuya11wth are u talking about? Druid has been one of the best classes for many years just not lately. Hunter, mage and warrior has had metas were they weren't in the top yet Druid always stayed consistent
I think warrior won't want to play it. Aggression is slated to be really strong and it's a 3 mana wild growth, it's really slow. Turn four is when you drop speaker stomper and prevent them from doing anything anyways.
@@ketchubbwth plays speaker stomper? Other than Painlock, a rather rare deck on the ladder, no one. And unless there appear some busted OTK spell deck I don't see it getting any moee popular tech card.
@@sathrielsatanson666 you clearly arent in legend. speaker stomper is one of the only ways to solidify an early board against control or even midrange decks. just because there arent many decks that use it doesnt mean its not good enough to fit into early aggro strats. it is one of the best cards in the game rn. if paladin wasnt holding their minions for the weapon on 3, they would run it. druid didnt run it because doomkin does essentially the same thing while ramping them which allows them to just tempo out minion after minion while still drawing. aside from pain, paladin, and druid (rest is peace whelp) there arent any board based strats in the meta rn. speaker stomper is one of the highest win rate when played on 4 cards in control/tempo MUs for pain. it is an incredible card but REQUIRES an early board which pain is the only deck that does it well. acting like it isnt good enough for those decks is a joke, it just doesnt synergize with their optimal hands but that doesnt mean they wouldnt love to have it sometimes. if i play malefic rook on 3 and stomper on 4, its almost always gg.
@@ketchubb well, you can write an elegy but it doesn't change the fact: Speaker Stomper is not a popular card and hence not a consideration when judging the meta: it is in less than 5 percent of the decks. So stop strawmaning and ad hominem-ing. Speaker Stomper is almost non existent in current meta and unless a new fast OTK deck emerges it still will be.
Blizzard clearly have favorite classes in hs, those are druid and warlock. Warlock is busted with demon seed and ruins wild for chill control players but they still keep printing support FOR A WILD DECK THAT IS BROKEN and now they print more ramp and mana cheat for druid...
@@ancient7716 Yeah, Paladin has been a clear favorite of the devs ever since Scholomance, which was 4 years ago now. Other than Paladin, the only other class that has been consistently great for that long has been Hunter. Warrior seems to have recently joined the fold of beloved classes, but it's still too early to tell (could have just been a lucky run). Then there are the classes that constantly fluctuate in power (constantly going from broken to near unplayable): Druid, Rogue, and Warlock. I'm not sure they have the same love for these classes, I just think they don't know how to balance them.

I wish Duels didn't get canned because a lot of the cards from this upcoming expansion look like they'd be fun to build around. I hope eventually they bring it back but for now I just need to keep grinding BGs.
Druid feeling like it doesn’t need to have big mana taunt minions but the fact that it gets mage cards and ramp(past 10 mana) looks like spell damage would be more beneficial
This might be a win more combo, but Odyn Warrior can be even more nuts. Play 2 New Heights, then play Odyn then once you have 14 mana play 2 Sleep Under the Stars for 30 armor and 30 attack for an otk. Like I said it's probably win more, but still fun I think.
Sick new combo in wild. You wait until you have 44 Mana, then you play Brann and 6 Star Aligners for a total of 42 damage. Just have to live for like 35 turns
Brann + 6 Star Aligners is 45 mana and deals 56 damage. To get 45 mana, one way of doing it would be to play guff, then 8 copies of "new horizons" then use the coin. For a less ambitious 5 star aligners + brann to deal 42 damage, you need 38 mana, so guff + 6 copies of new horizons is sufficient
Warrior tourist granting access to 3 extra max mana can bring back some disgusting highlander brann combos maybe? Control warrior shell with thogrunn or such? Just pure deck disruption with an option for a combo finisher?
If I remember correctly, how discount auras work according to some recent updates, then the boulder will actually go to zero when you hit 10 mana if you drew it with tortollan traveler. I think this makes them much more consistent to run together as you basically only lose one mana of the discount if you do end up drawing bouldering.0 vs 1 mana Bouldering probably doesn't sound major, but with how much druid likes to play eight, nine, 10 mana cards, thereby spending all their mana, I think this discount will end up mattering in a fair amount of situations.
That doesn't make any sense. I'm not saying you're wrong, you could be right, but that's just not how it should work, the card specifically says it will cost (1) if you have 10 mana, so no maatter how much you lower its cost, it should always be (1).
I'd only worry about owl with the new spell damage card from mage other than that these cards look kinda just Okay....feel like handbuff paladin just poops all over these cards tbh
I think with how easy it can be for druid to play cards for 0, it makes some of these more expensive = too slow, not as good spells pretty great. With Marrin treasure -> 0 hydration station or a owl druid using sparkling phial to discount sleep under the stars to zero effectively giving them an easy combo turn, both feel super strong. Even the other less flashy taunt guards druid is getting are actually quite great. Tortollan Traveler is just an upgraded Treasure Guard (3 mana 1/5 naga with taunt that deathrattle: draw a card) which saw decent play and this card now reduces cost. In addition, the dozing dragon gives multiple turns of a taunt minion that enemies will have to get through and survives board clears, giving druid the extra turn or two it needs in the mid game to hit the max levels of mana where it rarely can be beat. Cruise Captain Lora and Hiking Trails locations themselves are seemingly the worst imo, and they are still very decent cards, effectively a 3 mana card to discover three times and a 7 mana 4/5 minion which, on average, will give you 6 mana worth of locations.
I don’t actually know if New heights is that good. I mean obviously it is but how often to people run audio amplifier. That’s 2 mana for a decent body along side the max mana effect. I think there will be some goofy mark combo where you use forbidden fruit to deal 47 damage or something goofy but outside of that it’s pretty slow as far as ramp goes, depending on how the splash splash welp nerf post expac launch looks it will probably just be the better card for any standard shenanigans decks.
3 mana for ramp is already pretty decent, even if you're not regularly realizing the benefit of an increased mana ceiling you're always going to like the ramp, I don't think audio amplifier is a good point of comparison.
I'm not afraid of New Heights, tbh. It's just wild growth. It's not like they get all that mana immediately. And when Druid was getting to 11 mana with just audio amplifier we weren't winning anyway.
I know I say this literally every expansion for the last like 6 years, but...Name a more iconic duo than the beginning of a new expansion and Druid being completely broken.
I really think Bouldering Buddy is going to be the sleeper oppressive card for the new meta. The stats and the fact that it can immediately affect the board for one mana sounds crazy. Druid building a ramp for my wheelchair after I face them
I actually think that Bouldering Buddy is absolute trash. It can affect the board with 1 mana sounds crazy, but compared to what other cards can do it's actually quite MEH. Especially when you already have 10 mana crystals. At 7 mana or if you have less than 10 it's an absolute trash and at 10 mana, there are far more dangerous cards out there.

Welp, throw every deck idea ive had out the window because we will all be playing or playing against ramp warrior and ramp druid. Honestly i like playing ramp druid so fine by me
So you can Go up to 16 Mana easily, which will let you play a 6 mana manathirst 11 charging beatle, and 2 5 mana copy spells for exactly 30 charging damage. The return of the beatles?
I gotta say, I usually pop in to hearthstone when a new expansion drops just to collect some freebies and play with the new cards a bit. Completely unenthusiastic for this expansion, I think the huge disparity in power levels between classes and the near-requirement to run a tourist legendary (that you have to craft!) really speaks to how far the design team has fallen off. Hopefully they turn it around with the next one.
Imo, I was already not a fan of alot of card designs in this set and its overall theme, then of course druid getting crazy stuff again. Druid is probs my most played class but man I don't like when its heavily reliant on ramp, I don't mind a bit of it but there's too much already and they are giving them even more on top of even more mana cheat potential... Im probably going to skip trying to get all the cards this expansion, I'm getting United in Stormwind flashback from this set (Am I exaggerating, yes) and am worried this is going to be a very boring experience. There are some cool and fun cards its not all negative dont get me wrong, but those potential fun architypes and cards are likely going to be overshadowed, which is a shame.
I really don't get what are they doing. The only classes that have been a problem last few expansions are Druid and Warrior, they are torture to play against and everyone is complaining about it. Why the fuck would they double down on that?
trail mix on 2, mista vista on 3, new heights on 4, trail mix and new heights on 5...turn 6 you get 2 new heights and a trail mix, putting you at 17 mana or so on turn 7, with a maximum of 22
Its amazing the fact that they design cards without even thinking how absolutely cancerous the game can get. Like this legendary for example : Its not hard to think how busted this can be or what crazy combos you can pull off with current cards ! Its just crazy to me that they keep doing stuff like this every expansion. Another example is DH legendary, surely nothing wrong can happen right ?
God forbid they don't print money for Druid every damn set. I'm so tired of it. Why is Mistah Vistah only 5 mana and replays 3 turns worth? That's so extreme! Not 1 or 2 turns, at least 6+7=13 mana worth of spells if you play him on turn 5. If you play him with new heights on the turn you have 8 mana, you'll replay new heights + 10+11 mana worth of spells. Bananas!
