been keeping this one under wraps for a while but here she is......the kicker is.....its all for sale if you are serious about buying the running gear,VL or VN give me a message
Im far from a Commodore fan but the VN was what got me into the channel. Having said that, im not entirely disappointed the VL is moving along if youre not feeling it. Good luck with what you pursue next 🤙
Your cars have always been built above and beyond Chris, I think you engaged a lot of enthusiasts including myself to put in that extra effort and that OEM+ feeling I thought you displayed throughout the Vn build was inspirational. Whoever ends up with that car will be one lucky bastard, would love to own it but I run into the same issues you have with space constraints having 6 projects haha. Good luck with it all !!
Hey man much respect just wanna say thanks for the videos on the commodores on both. Not only has ut made me come to respect bog stock cars but also become a purists. I brought a clean vr calais i am hoping to do up but like you i have a single car garage so hopefully i still get to appreciate the ride for a few more summers. Hopefully shell be out on beachbroad this year but back in track thanks for the vids
its a wise man who knows when to walk away, much respect Chris. Be sad to see the VN go but maybe something will pop up that will be your huckleberry...like your other huckleberry... :)
I love all the cars you own, but I’m kinda looking forward to seeing what you go with next. No matter what anyone says, it’s your decision and your cars. Good luck and I’m looking forward to it
Knew something was up when that coolant overflow wasn't replaced immediately. Understand your reasons having been there myself hope you still keep making content and all the best whatever happens
I 100% understand where your coming from I took on the major task with my VY SS and Gemini and in the past 5-6 months i havent put a vid out on my youtube channel and it dose kill me and seeing my followers asking for updates as much as I want to put out an up date its next to impossible since being promoted at my job with longer hrs and when im not at work all i want to do is spend it with my wife and 2 boys which does leave little to no time for the cars.
Probably the most sensible decision. You’d be better off buying a VE SS wagon or something along those lines, spend 10k on it and you can enjoy it while being a family car. Something that’s less time consuming, just as fun. And also practical. Either way your true loyal subs should respect your decision no matter what, I’m not here for the cars, I’m here because of your level of detail. That’s what I enjoy most about the channel. Much respect brother 👍🏻
Totally agree, I regret building my vl.. way to much money into it when you could buy something for way less that handles like a car and the door handles dont touch the ground when you turn a corner. I started building it when vls were worth $500, its just to expensive now
Smart move. Been down the road of spending money on a particular car I wasn’t 100% enthusiastic about to begin with. Won’t matter what you spend, you don’t “get there”. Good decision.
The price of street machines are starting to go down to a more realistic price point now ans there's plenty of VLs for sale. I reckon you've made a smart choice.
Felt exactly the same with a 260z By the time I had the funds, I just didn't love them the same. Not the same for what they are worth. I think the value of some cars can really kill the appeal. You will feel guilty driving it,in case something happens. The car will never feel like $80k+ because it was never built to be worth that much. Good luck with everything mate, hopefully you can find some balance and keep the hobby Family first 👌
Lets be honest, its to buy a tt audi r8 isn't it? Haha! But nah good to see you're out before you're in so to speak, either way man you do you and if everyone on here enjoys the content no matter what then they'll support you and the channel! All the best dude!
Definitely not the video I was expecting, but I think your doing the right thing. If your not 100% keen on it, it would be a waste to put more money into it. Any clues to what you’ll replace it with? I’ll still follow along regardless, keen for the next one!
Fair enough, I’m feeling the same about my xr6 turbo, would have to pump heaps of money into it to get it where I want it, in the end I still want an ss
I'd defo be looking into maybe a manual swap and basic turbo setup on the vl, pretty basic build but would still be heaps of fun and would keep the channel going. You've already gone and made the car look nice so might as well enjoy it while you've got one. Sell the vn as you've done everything youve wanted to the car. Thats my 2 cents
Selling a big power build, can't help thinking this has come from the sadness of your friend Shawn passing from the Audi Crash the other week. Too many deaths lately with crazy HP cars.
Awwww Chrissy is all grown up making grown up decisions. Jokes aside mate, I totally agree with your point of “why do I need 500kw when I you can’t use it”. Kids certainly change your focus, but not just kids it’s getting too bloody expensive these days for parts let alone labour these days and for what? Drive once every couple months to a local car meet. In the end they’re your cars and it’s not for anyone else to say what you should do
After driving my 420kw fg I can absolutely tell u it's 100% useless on the street, u can't put it to the ground, just gets tyres lol It's quick enough with 250 atw, still goes 12.80s which is plenty for a street car. It went 11.94 on Sunday but unfortunately on the next pass it blew up, didn't know but the wastegate actuator stuck and over boosted it 😔 Had it all of 2 weeks and I'm now questioning if it's even worth the hassle. Went from a reliable daily to a "dream car/daily" that's now broken, and I'm on the foot falcon. I'm outa car until I can fix it 😭
so if u sell the vn & vl will you spend much of that on the evo or just keep it the way it is. high hp rwd's are dangerous in the way of a tiny bit of wheel spin can get you in to much trouble & so many dash cam's & people using their phones theae days.
He said he likes the Evo the way it is because it’s not crazy HP and he can just drive it how it is and it’s still fun. He has a good taste in cars so I’m kinda looking forward to what he gets next
Dam this makes me really sad tbh I followed when u got the vn and was doing the build hopefully u buy another commodore or even a hsv even then I’ll still will be watching 😢
No time for cars with kids, no money for cars with kids. I can relate. Doesn’t get any easier when they get older. Weekend sports etc. Can’t wait for them to get a job and leave.
Very interesting video. Sorry to hear ur selling the commodores mate. I can understand it though having new born and what not it makes sense to have the evo as a daily and have the other spot for a RU-vid car project sort of thing.
I’d say you’ll lose some viewers removing the commodores from your channel. It’s actually the best time to do a 2 year build. You’ll miss out on more building a car around ages 4,5 onwards. All & all love ya Holden work
Cmooooonnnn man what about your content what will you do for weekly content, don't get me wrong I love seeing the customers cars but there's something more personal about watching you do your thing an make your own unique car
