Unfortunately one of the down falls of buying used cars especially ones that were very popular for modifying is the hidden issues you find once you start pulling the car apart, this car is no exception as I found out
When I worked at Subaru all the new cars on the lot had dents on the above the door handles just from people opening and closing the door Subarus have the thinnest door skins and bonnets
Damn, this just shows the magic of youtube. In the first video this car looked mint, and now when you show all the flaws close up you see the reality. I have a 99 GC8 STI V5, from 3 meter distance it also looks mint, but actually has dings all over it just like yours. Mine also has quite a bit of surface rust underneath, but nevertheless, I love it. But I wish I could have bought it couple years earlier, when prices were less than half of what I paid.
Really enjoying your wrx progress, in august boght one too, its perfect condition, but sun damaged paint and dismounted engine. Lots of work, but ill be worth it. Btw keep it up your content is really cool.
"Start fixing some shit"! I am loving it, get rid of that ridiculous rear wing. The low version you showed looked the business. Cheers, looking forward to the next video.
Awesome car bruv👍 too bad the previous owner didn't look after it, I'm sure you you can get it back to original just like the Evo & definitely looking forward to the WRX restoration....
Amber corners as far as I know are aftermarket only, the only amber ones were the USDM ones with the little orange reflector bit. As for the wing, tbh just buy one and find out whether you like it or not. Also the whiteline bits are a roll centre kit, because many subarus are monster trucks stock geometry gets fucky when you lower them.
If you're gonna get rid of the clear indicators and swap to amber then probs get rid of the JDM tail lights to keep the theme. Do one or the other. I personally prefer the clears.
Honestly i prefer this over a vl. As cool as they are everybody does the same mods to them. Rather see you replace parts than building something that has been done multiple times. Its only a matter of time until these cars skyrocket in price and those in good original condition are what is going to be worth big $$$ just like what has happened with the old holdens
