Let's take a minute to acknowledge how badass Rory is.

The Doctor and River: Kiss in episode 2 Failwhale34 speculating in episode 7: His MOM?!? Loved the reaction as always! Even Dooski was desperate to know who she was :P

A great reaction to the reveal. Remember what Idris TARDIS said as her body was dying? "The only water in the forest is the river". Moffatt had been planning this episode for years.

I love that plot twist. A fun fact is that Alex knew Amy was River's mom back when they were filing series 5, and she used that for River showing extra care and concern towards Amy from the very beginning.

Some people complain about S6, and it does have its faults, but I love it so much. There are so many clues pointing towards River being who she is, and yet it's totally shocking at the same time.

"It's his mom." yes his mom agreed to marry him, and flirted with him for the last two seasons.

It wasn't till years later that I connected that when Rory went to pick up River, she said it was her birthday. 😁

So as others have mentioned, Captain Jack was going to return for this episode, and many people theorize that he would have taken Doriums' place, getting decapitated by the Headless Monks. Which is how he would become the Face of Boe

The only water in the forest is the River!!! The fact that River Song's name is translated from English then to the language of the Gamma Forest then BACK to English is brilliant.

In the final minutes of "A Good Man Goes To War", and he's utterly convinced that River is the Doctor's mum. Oh, failwhale, never change.

WE'RE HERE!!!!!! WE'RE HERE!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH.... I'M SO HYPED!!!!!

There's A LOT I love about this episode. * Strax. Every line is treasure * Vastra and Jenny and their subtle flirting * The way the Church of the future is portrayed. "We're here to fight him, not praise him. Praising costs way more!" * Matt's shocked face when he realises they were there on their wedding night * Rory turning absolutely badass for his wife, invoking his Centurion training and two thousand years experience guarding the Pandorica * Amy's scream when the baby turned to goo. Karen's delivery was exactly the kind of horrified screech you'd expect * The Doctor apologising to her after was also an incredible delivery by Matt * Laurna Bucket and her exchange with the Doctor I'm sure there's more that I could list, but this is already plenty.

One of the things Moffatt is always good at is hiding things in plain sight. Don’t feel bad for not getting it but the most obvious clue was there all along - River Song/ Melody Pond!

During the two parter where River is introduced, I remember you theorised in an off the cuff way if she could be Donna's future daughter. I remember shouting at the screen "Wrong! But owe close but still no cigar!" Right theory wrong companion!" Then you never once revisited that notion again.

For me one of the greatest plot twist ever. And i watched every episodes classics and new & it stand in one of my fav. ❤🔥

One of the subtle moments I love in this episode is when Strax is dying and rory ( A nurse literally dressed up as a warrior) says "come on, you're a warrior" And he's just like "Rory.....I'm a nurse" Such a powerful moment that most people miss because we forget that Rory is a nurse

"I can produce magnificent quantities of lactic fluid!" Best line in the series.

Fun fact: Remember back in season 3 when Jack revealed he was the Face of Boe? Well John Barrowman was supposed to be brought back for this episode but the filming conflicted with another show he was doing. The plan was to have him get beheaded by one of the headless monks, over time turning him into the Boe we know.

Oh this plot twist... I jumped off the couch when i saw that years ago and walked back and forth on what just happened while my boyfriend sat on the couch laughing at my reaction. My favorite WTF Plot-twist ever

The writing for the season arcs of Matt's episodes was really good.

I felt so much joy seeing you find out who River really is.

Moffat’s a friggin genius and it kills me so much to see people hating on Season 6 when he planned everything out to the last detail... In fact, there are very few non-explainable plotholes throughout his run and people just hate on him because they can’t understand it

This is actually my favourite episode of this series, it’s so dramatic and each time river does her monologue I get goosebumps! It’s so well acted and portrayed.
