Here I am in 2020 . Who else here in 2020. I played this at my sons funeral. I sang this at my wife's funeral. I'll be singing this tomorrow at my friends funeral.
@@jacobbrown9838 Don't let the kenazi's fool you...evidence of that blood of Christ you speak of must be cultivated with pure intentions and WORKS. Without works, it's just vanity, and you should not take the Lord's name in vain.
Lost Jerry Jeff last week now another one my heros has crossed the river. God bless you Billy Joe. Rest in peace and thank you for helping me through the good and bad times love ya man.
This song moved me today. I was thinking of my son as I drove home and thought “ he needs to learn to play this” when I got home, he was already trying to learn it because he heard it last night. It was like the Lord said “ I have something for you two”
Billy recently rehearsed at a place I work at in Austin & I must say he was was one of the most humble musicians I’ve ever worked with. He came and approached me and just started shooting the shit even though he had no reason to. We talked about all sorts of things from how Austin has changed so much to morphine to families 😂 He gave me all his records without me even asking and was just so nice. Modern musicians and people in general could learn a lot from this man.
Daniel, I was fortunate to do a few albums with Billy Joe and become friends 'forever,' you are exactly right! Humble, wonderful song writing Master. If you'd like to hear what I think about him, check out "The Man From Down Near Waco" by Tommy Talton, here's to you, Billy Joe!
That was so awesome that you got to bullshit with this great man!!! Indeed he seem so so humble!!! I would have loved to meet this guy!! Maybe someday across that river!!!
Billy Joe is the greatest songwriter alive today. He has been to hell and back several times and each time has emerged a better songwriter and musician. We played this at my wife's funeral and I want it played at mine. He truly will live forever.
My daddy always played this on his guitar and sang it. I always teared up because I knew his days were coming to an end. His best friend played this at his funeral and this song couldn't be more true. He may be gone physically but his soul lives on forever.
Billy Joe knew he was saved by grace and grace alone. So did his son Eddie. They had the courage to publicly thank their Saviour. My kind of men. I know I'll meet them soon.
I was just thinking about BillyJoe twice today Once this morning watching a Willie Nelson video And then about 10 minutes ago I flipped this phone on and RU-vid suggested I should watch a Waylon video of him solo singing Waymore's Blues with Miss Jessi sitting next to him on that show he had way back in the day!! Well BillyJoe crossed my mind again cause then I just had this Video cone on and there is the man himself!! Well Mr Billy Joe Shaver I hope you do live for ever ,,I can never just walk away from a song on the radio or on the RU-vid! Him and Willie played in Lawrenceburg Indiana probably 10 years ago And wasn't walking away from him performing that night . or Willie. I got to the front row and never left until them Texans hit the Stagecoaches and just disappeared into the night. I seen them both before at Willie's Place the truck stop south of Dallas cause I would stop there twice a week on my weekly Indiana to Laredo turnaround After that Petro Truck Stop bought that place and tore the place up I never stopped there again, I'm gonna live forever
Just by absolute luck and chance, I heard this on some weird random Amazon mix on my way home from work and felt the most beautiful feeling, true bliss.
ONE OF THE GREATEST ACTS IN THE BUSINESS BAR NONE. EDDIE WAS A GUITAR PICKER WITH A STYLE THAT MADE YOU FEEL HIS FEELINGS. GOD BLESS THEM BOTH IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST

Amazing man..Amazing talent..Amazing story. Sad day. Thanks Billy Joe..for showing me how to keep the truth in songwriting and the honesty in performing them. Live Forever.
Man this is so crazy, I believed a fake post I seen on Facebook a few years ago saying Billy died and it broke my heart because I've been a huge fan of his since the first time I heard this song when I was like 14 and I've been commenting and sharing videos on my Facebook saying rest in Peace Billy for 2 years thinking he had passed and it wasn't until today when I seen a Norm McDonald tribute video for Billy that I realized he just really died and I cried all over again, why people make fake post like that idk but now you really are free Billy and with your family again....FLY WITH THE ANGEL'S 💛
