Billy Joe Shaver performs "Live Forever" live at the Farm Aid concert in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 18, 1994. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

I am blessed to be on a CD with Billy Joe Shaver and Willie and other great artists CD is called "Joy" felt it deeply when Eddie passed suddenly And those were my thoughts too... together again 2 great musical talents... his son had such a sweet quiet soul... so talented when he got on stage... Heaven is lucky to have them

That’s his son on guitar Eddie , RIP ....he passed away a few years later of a Drug overdose. (2000) what a talent Billy is and Eddie always will be! Billy and Eddie Shaver- we Thank you as your music Lives Forever!

I had the inestimable honor of meeting Brenda Shaver. I will thank God Almighty for that until the day I die. Every time I listen to this song I remember the few minutes I had to the honor of speaking with her. I will always remember her and this song. I want my children to play this at my funeral. God bless Billy Joe, Brenda and Eddie. Billy Joe you will live for eternity through your music,
