This situation totally reminds me of the Truebones case where a man livestreamed himself living in a fantasy with his lies about copyright fraud attacking anyone who dares speak the truth about his scam including myself. I do not know whats wrong with these peoples brains but its really frightening to see that this kind of lying actually works for some of these predators because the average person would and could not expect such a flagrant level of deception. I was at the NERG convention and was at the panel, I didn’t know as much as I know now but knew enough to check that no money for ticket sales would go to Billy (a few people had already asked about this). I was sat behind the man in the audience he kept pointing to when making his points, for some reason he picked him out, must have been weird for that guy! Bless him Walter fell asleep a couple of times (you can see him nod off at the beginning of the footage and looks to be asleep when you see him at the end, he must have heard all this stuff so many times!) and the hostess was most likely primed to a degree, she mentioned having met him the night before, but she came across so nervous and uncomfortable throughout that I felt a bit sorry for her. She also seemed to be from a pro-wrestling background, she mentioned a couple of terms and said something like ‘in our world we would call that a sell’ or something to that effect I can’t remember exactly. It’s not in the video but at some point he started reading out personal messages he received from someone apologising to him and being wrong about him? Can’t remember who it was exactly but just felt like a really weird thing to do, like reading them out word for word. Overall I would say the feeling I got was Billy taking the opportunity to try and get some people who aren’t in-the-know onto his side, how many people bought it I can’t say but I took it all with a pinch of salt, so much I had to go straight to the shop to buy more! I would say the actual convention was really good with lots of games to check out and play if you’re in the area when it’s next on.

NERG has been going for a while and *was* something I attended. They had massive backlash over Billy & Walter attending and I've heard had their lowest ever attendance because of it. Their social media was inundated with complaints and people (me included) boycotting the event. He also did a livestream at a local arcade bar and I know a staff member there who said that also resulted in complaints and people saying they wouldn't be coming back in. If he's costing these people money, especially in today's economy, I doubt he'll be invited back 😊
