Pick and gut video of the BiLock high security core from Australia. This one has been requested a number of times, and I'd like to thank Joshua for loaning me his lock to pick. This lock is a driverless design with twelve pins and two sidebars. Each pin has one true gate and one false gate.

Nice job. I thought that lock looked familiar. And when you said it came from Joshua, it clicked. That one was originally in my collection. Glad the lock made its way to someone capable of doing it justice. Nicely picked!

Thanks for saying that man! I had a LOT of fun wit that part... Seriously, I probably did twenty takes of just those little segments before I got it to the point I was happy with it. Part of the fun for me is learning to do little tricks like that, LOL

Thanks man! I really appreciate the kind words. This one isolated pretty well, so I was really able to pick it just like it was two locks in one.If I rotated it CW, the left side bound up first, and if I rotated it CCW, it was the right. Here and there I would drop something on the other side and have to go back and get it, but generally careful attention to counterrotation prevented it and I could isolate the sides. It was a very fun lock to pick. Thanks 4 watchin'!

Another great one under your belt. I have a bi lock mortise with no key.what tension were you using? If I did pick it. I deffo wouldn't gut it.lol. Anyways great picking and gutting. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks...
@tumbl3r
@tumbl3r 7 лет назад
Thanks man! I really appreciate that :) I really enjoy your videos as well 🔓👍. Let's see... Tension... Medium??? Medium Light??? Tension is so subjective and honestly I almost never just use a fixed tension. It's almost always highly variable. I can say that when picking out of false gates, they act a lot like spools, and the tension required to do that is about the same. When I'm not lifting pins out of false gates, the tension is a bit higher than that. I hope that helps.... I was really nervous gutting this lock. It's scary diving into a new lock that I own, but doing it with a friend's lock is another level entirely. I was so afraid I'd lose a spring or pin, LOL. Thanks for watching man! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Leon's lockpad They are very common in the high security market in Australia and U.S.A. This is a generation 1, gen 2 has a 13 element and has not been picked on camera to my knowledge

I would LOVE to see you perhaps try a drill-test, or forced-turn test... to see how good these actually are at securing your property. (how much force is requires to actually break them open?)

Very nice picking bud! I'm waiting for the right deal and I'm getting me one of these beauties myself. One question: when you are rotating the keypins do you pull the pick towards you or do you push the pins away from you? I'm trying to get into a Medeco biaxial and I am having a hard time finding the best way to rotate the pins so that they engage the sidebar.
@tumbl3r
@tumbl3r 7 лет назад
Thank man! These locks are super fun to pick... Much more so than I imagined they would be. Lots of great feedback. So these pins don't actually rotate like the ones in the Medecos. I probably should have mentioned that when I was comparing the two. When you see me pushing and pulling the pick, I'm sweeping the pins to test for "jiggle". That helps tell me if they are properly set into a true gate or stuck in a false one.

Bilocks are deffs an advance lock to pick it seems! I saw they've recently adapted their locks to a range called 'Bilock exclusive' where they've added in a few new security features, should check it out, just youtube 'Bilock Exclusive' and it'll be the first video in the list!
@chefgav1
@chefgav1 7 лет назад
Very well done, your skills are legit and amazing. So glad you took it down as I have been told by many in the security industry that bilock is unpickable. M8 How do you rate the bilock against the others like the ASSA twins you have taken down.?
@tumbl3r
@tumbl3r 7 лет назад
Thanks man! And thanks for giving me the motivation to pick one of these things. As for how they rank against the ASSA Twin, it's hard to say only having picked this one, but I honestly would not even put them in the same category. The ASSA Twin is far FAR more difficult. That said, this is a tricky lock, and I believe it is a very good design. If I had to rank it, I'd place it somewhere around the Medeco Duracam. My goal in picking locks is never to show that they are insecure, but rather to explore and marvel at the beautiful engineering that goes into them.
@chefgav1
@chefgav1 7 лет назад
tumbl3r if your willing to part with one of your twins I have a few different certified Bilocks with decent bidding if your interested? I would love to watch your skills on picking one of mine blind, I'm not 100% sure but I might be able to obtain a 2nd gen with the active element.
@tumbl3r

I'd trade an ASSA Twin 6000, but the others (Ovals and KIKs) are not something I really want to swap. I'd like to keep those for my personal collection.

Very diferent lock. But the side bars have a spring to block the cilinder. How do you aboid this ?
@PBMS123
@PBMS123 3 года назад
Its unfortunate this isn't the BiLock 2nd Gen, it ahs a 13 bin operated by a moving part inside the key that cams and pushes the pin up when inserted, it's right in the middle.

Tumbl3r have you tried the bilock new generation with the 13th element and redesigned sidebar?
@Steel-Pinnings
@Steel-Pinnings 7 лет назад
Very nice pick, Great explanation too. One thing I am not getting over. They are very similar to the cam lock style of Medeco except that these only have to be lifted to the proper hight. Were a Medeco must be lifted to the right hight as well as rotated to the correct angle. So which is the harder pick?
@tumbl3r
@tumbl3r 7 лет назад
Thanks man! I'm glad the explanation made sense... I sometimes wonder if I'm any good at explaining things, LOL. So the cam locks have five pins that need to be lifted and rotated, while these have twelve that only need to be lifted. Having only this one to go by, it's hard to really say for sure, but I think these are somewhat tougher than the normal Medeco cam locks. Probably more on par with the likes of the Duracam you sent me. In fact, I think the first open on this took me just about the same amount of time as the Duracam.
@Steel-Pinnings

My bilock cylinder wont turn, out of the blue. Ive tried multiple keys. The lock itself seems loose. I dont want to fork out for a locksmith. Any advice?
@tumbl3r
@tumbl3r 7 лет назад
Bernie Elston Is it just the core or is it installed in s door or other lock mechanism? If it's just the core, you can just unscrew or unclip the back and pull the plug. If it's in a lock mechanism and you can't get it out, picking might be the only non destructive option.
@bernstyles

tumbl3r its a door to my shop that Im now locked out of. Other keys dont work, so its the lock. the lock looks like this goo.gl/images/MFi1fA
@tumbl3r
@tumbl3r 7 лет назад
I would try lubricating the lock and see if that helps get your key to work. Might be a slider stuck high or something like that. If that doesn't work, it's likely a locksmith will drill it. Lubricate it, and try inserting / extracting your key several times very quickly. This is, quite honestly, not a lock that many people can pick, so there is really next to no chance that a new picker would be able to pick it open.
@bernstyles
@bernstyles 7 лет назад
I tried wd40 & it didnt help. It seems like the problem is that the whole lock is loose. Can try inserting quickly
@tumbl3r

If the plug turns and the lock doesn't open, it's going to take a locksmith to fix. I was working under the assumption that the plug was not turning.

@DonzLockz

Stephanie Smith, its the "old" one or Gen 1 as they call it. Gen 2 is the current version. Gen 1 is still not easy to pick, not many ppl can do it still.

I think there is a lock that is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to pick: YUEMA 750: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4cwjGJ2i4oA.html . Since the lock works in a "opposite way", with a free rotating cylinder, and inserting correct key will join the cylinder and cam.

I'm from Australia I've wondered if these could be picked. I do painting for local council they give me master keys every building in the council area which is fairly big or semi masters for every lock in a building they are bilock alot of the time or those abloy ones with the angled grooves on each side which I've heard are unpickable if I lose a master for a single building they want $600 from me. God knows what they would want for a key that opens every kindergarten sporting club or toilet council wide
