A big thing with Basic spell is that it isn't an attack or thwart action, which means that it should ignore Guard and Patrol and doesn't trigger things like Retaliate or things like Photographic Reflexes from Taskmaster. Some very interesting implications from that...

So great to see this video pop up - thanks for keeping the content coming when you can! It's a bit odd to me that folks didn't expect Bishop, given how he's so fundamentally essential to the Apocalypse Stories - I thought from the get-go that we'd get Bishop in the third box for exactly that reason! That being said, I'm super excited for both new Heroes, I think the design team is doing an amazing job of exploring new ways of playing, building decks, and changing the play space of the game (playing off the top of the deck is - while not new to LCGs as a whole - so different from every other hero). Your idea of using Mutant Education to cycle the double resources for Bishop was awesome, I'm going to remember that!

I somehow l hadn’t watched the long team ups video before but I watched it just now and of course, no surprise, it’s great. Thought I’d be burned out on ya and skip this one but nope, it’s great hanging out with ya. Thanks, man. I got sonic blasted today in an evil lair … well, actually my doctor sonic blasted some kidney stones but anyway I’m in alter ego mode now making a basic recovery so thanks for keeping me company.

Magik with Summoning Spell might just end up being the first deck I ever build in Marvel Champions. Love Magik and this archetype just sounds way too fun.

After being really hyped about Domino and being somewhat disappointed in her on release (she's still fun, but surprisingly lacks build variety), I'm hesitant on Magik. She seems like she could fall into a similar trap of having what looks like interesting build potential, but in reality you end up doing the same thing every game. Bishop, on the other hand, I can't help but be hyped for! He looks so cool!

I'm VERY excited about AoA! Great looking heroes (I'm also more hyped for Magik than Bishop) and some really great looking allies. I'm most looking forward to using Sidekick on Ironheart's Brawn, and while Spider-Ham's ally has an enters-play ability, I can see myself using it on him for his extra 2THW or 2ATK. I'm already playing Leadership with him AND I want to flip down to recover, so it feels like a good fit (I might proxy one for some testing with both).

Fantastic analysis of the cards. The amount of time you spend on each one really give me time to both listen and formulate my own plans for each card (though I do have to pause for each card anyway because it's really tough for me to listen to the description -- I have to read it myself). Thanks!

Great vid! This is an exciting box and can’t wait for the hero reveals. I wonder if the last one is Beast as a multi-form hero like Iron Heart. That silhouette is definitely the most mysterious!

I feel like I should be more excited for Magik, and don't get me wrong, she does look fun; but Bishop looks far more interesting to me, and he'll be my first hero going into AoA. Just out of interest, have you had a chance to play X-23 or Deadpool yet?

Other boxes obviously got people excited for the aspect cards but man, this box comes with so many fun ideas for heroes. I am excited to see all the new builds. I hope the villains are fun in this box. Next evolution was boring on the villain front.

Point about spiritual meditation, although you don't get the discount you will end up with an extra card in hand by the end of the spell Meaning as you flip up (6hand size from alter) put it on top, draw 2 and discard 1 leaves you with a hand of 7 cards 😊

After playing Deadpool so much now I see Sidekick and it just says Cable on it, having Deadpool flipping almost every other turn, if not every turn, Cable might just stay in play forever and growing with Accelartion Tokens (up to +4)

The meta on Bishop may be to simply hold resources in your hand and let them build up with each hit. My only concern is, are you making your way through your deck enough to play anything or are you just getting milled?

I am so heartbroken they aren’t doing Emma Frost. Ugh this is like the guardians cycle. It sucks every time they don’t do the 50/50 gender parity
