I'm pretty sure there will be some equivalent of Gang Up but, if they were to cut any of them, I think it would be that one. We'll see! Honestly, I quite like chump blocking too haha! But Gene Pool is a nice deterrent which still lets you chump from time to time if you really need to. Unlike Flight's Overkill or Operation Zero Tolerance in Project Wideawake which are both harsher in my eyes. Just so excited!

Yeah it was cool to see him! I’m the same as you, I don’t know AoA very well but I remembered him from going back and reading the old stuff a few years ago. There’s probably a fair number of X-men villains I would’ve rather seen but I do appreciate their willingness to reach back and avoid the obvious heavy hitters

Thank you so much! 1. I’m a big fan of both heroes so far. X-23 feels so fantastic to play. Very smooth and capable. I like the visceral nature of just using your hero card to do so much work. I don’t really care for her aggression cards much though. I do really like Keep Them Busy though. And Specialized Training is absolutely amazing. Deadpool is super weird to play but I also think it’s a lot of fun. I like risky strategies and he’s all about that. I agree that it’s nice they kept the real goofiness to the Pool aspect. I don’t really care for cards like Break Time and a couple of the others that are super out there, but for the most part there are a lot of elements of the Pool aspect I’m very excited to play around with 2. I’m all about the heroes so for me personally I’m not looking for a Villains vs the Heroes type box. When they made Legendary Villains I skipped that one. But I’m not opposed to it being in the game as I know there are people who do really like that idea, and to be fair I’d still buy it lol

@@GetUpandGame So update, unfortunately, no Deadpool. But I did get Dr. Strange and Wasp so that's pretty cool. As for playable villains, yeah I probably would mostly play heroes as well, I just like idea of the team ups that could happen. Like Green Goblin teaming up with Iron Man. Would work theme wise as well, sense heroes and villains have teamed up against bigger threats. (Plus I would LOVE playable Doctor Doom!)

@@Runboy_was_here ah man that’s stinks. I managed to get a few more games in with Deadpool today I like him so much more than I thought I was going to. Hopefully you get a chance to pick him up soon! But hey Strange and Wasp are great! Wasp especially is one of my top 5 heroes. The key with her is to make a lot of use of her alter ego ability. She may look a lot like ant man but she plays a lot differently in my opinion Oh I’m all for playing villains as heroes. Doom, Magneto, Loki. I love it when bad guys go good. I just don’t want to beat up Spider-Man 😅😆

@@GetUpandGame Yeah I'm with you on not wanting to beat the heck outta Spidey (He is my favorite super hero after all, tho in this game Iron Man is my favorite to play!), I was just using him as an example for a "Sinister Six" wave. The cross-compatibility between Heroes and "Heroes" could lead to some funny combos as well, especially where allies, player side schemes, and mod sets are concerned! Thoughts on Strange and Wasp, Strange is STRONG, but I doubt you need me to tell you that. Good stress relief potential! Wasp I'm not sold on yet, but my first game with her had some bad luck so I'm not writing her off yet! (Tho not as unlucky as using e.s.s as a resource turn 1, only to find out Rhino had Vulture on speed dial!) Plus, I've seen some of your videos on her, so I know what she's capable of with the right deck! Honestly, I'll probably have to just order Deadpool, along with some others, online sense my B&N doesn't have much past GOTG. But the way I'm probably gonna go from here (core set, Sinister Motives, Cap. America, Ironheart, Venom, Green goblin, and my 2 new ones) is get a few more heroes and villains I want, then campaign boxes, then whatever else.

@@GetUpandGame for sure! I hope so too. I think we will. There’s been similar stuff… Streets of Mayhem, Longshot, Hope Summers, and the superpower sets from Mr Sinister, kind of have that interaction. I really enjoy these like side things though that are SO different from the norm.

Thankfully not! Whoever puts the final token on Pursued By the Past triggers it’s ability just for them, and then it resets. So in a 4 player game it’s going to be really fun revealing encounter cards and seeing how many counters are getting put on it 😆

Sure! There’s an image of Dark Beast on the back, and the common thinking for the final villain seems to be Onslaught. It would probably be a different take on his original origin of being a corrupted Professor X mixed with Magneto, but it kind of fits with Dark Beast being there and Professor X being dead in the trailer for the box

Haha hey I’m not cheating! It IS random. You either draw it or you don’t. I played 3 games this morning and only saw it in one. Some players like yourself, D20, and PlayDGame seem to see it a lot, others say they never see it and even go so far as to make house rules to guarantee they see it more often. Shadows is most punishing if it’s drawn early in the game when you aren’t as well prepared to deal with the extra pressure of a worse than usual minion and a side scheme. Plus the cards shuffled into the deck are typically pretty rough or have lots of boost icons or both. If it comes out late in the game it’s typically a non-factor as most nemesis minions don’t have Guard so if you’re that close to winning you can just ignore them and finish off the villain. Or you’re well set up enough to just blow it up. What Pursued by the Past does is lend a consistency to the whole mechanism. You aren’t very likely to get your nemesis on the first turn, and you’ll be able to see it coming gradually. Like I said in the video I’m totally fine with not seeing my nemesis any more often than necessary, but some players really enjoy the nemesis system so this is a nice alternative for them
