Björk's performance of Unravel, Pagan Poetry, All is Full of Love and Cocoon was interspersed with interview segments on this ARTE/NDR coproduction directed by Bernie Apt. I edited out the intro, outro and Radio Boy's set and interview (omitted segments shown by '...'), but included all Björk's songs and interviews.

She obviously possesses a spark of creativity and vocal talent that the average human simply does not have but she seems very normal. People always call her strange and I just can't see it.

Of all Bjork TV interviews/performances, this one is her best. She was at her happiest during the Vespertine period too, and it definitely shows here.

A couple of months ago I stumbled on a Björk live performance of "Hidden Place" while viewing and searching for "St.Vincent's" videos. I had not listened to her music for ten years and I fell in love again. Since then I've been going through everything I could find from her on RU-vid. and I must say this is one of my favorites. It's her best performance I've seen yet. Elle est en effet plus femme que jamais et son interprétation de Cocoon m'a donné des frissons de plaisir. SUPERBE.

Bjork deconstructs music. She doesn't belong to any particular genre, she takes isolated musical elements (chords, rhythms, melodies, singing, lyrics) and rearranges them in a fresh new way, and gathering technology from all musical eras. She's very 'visionary' in that way, great imagination.

Every song she does projects you into another world, every one of them different from the last. I love the music itself, but then I also tried what they mentioned, turning it into a sort of ambient addition to something else, like reading or playing a game, rather than as a narrative to focus directly on, and it's strangely comforting - like finding the last piece of a puzzle that completes the image on not just that one puzzle, but also several others.

It is obvious (to me) that she creates her vocal music/lyrics by improvising (which one can become good at), but that is only one technique. Writing the music and working the words out beforehand is another, which, if she tried it, would be interesting...
