This video brought me to tears. 😓 Today BJ Thomas would have been 80 years old. For me, his voice is still the most distinctive and wonderful male vocalist in music history. I'm 68 years old and I had the privilege of seeing and listening to him for the first time when I was 18. It's saddened me so much last May when he passed away. End up until he had to start his cancer treatments, his voice remained the same without change. 💯 Thank you for all of your beautiful music BJ Thomas. 🎵🎙️🎼❤️ And Happy Heavenly Birthday.🎈🎈🎈
I wouldn't dare disagree with you because BJ truly was a once in a generation talent; however, I would hasten to add: Keith Whitley was right up there with him.
His voice and this song makes the room hush. No one sounds like BJ and no one ever will. Thank you for your music, Mr. Thomas. It will be enjoyed forever.
A voice like that is truly a gift from God - very very few humans who have walked this planet Earth can sing like BJ did - and yet he made it look so easy - RIP my dear friend.
He was truly wonderful. It’s odd to me that he’s known as a country performer. When I heard him on the radio singing “Raindrops” I never associated him with country music at all. And then there was “I just got a feeling “. Again, I never associated him with country music. I just thought he was this handsome, cool guy, with velvety, yet masculine voice. What wonderful musician and artist he was.
BJ is my second cousin. He and my dad were 1st cousins. He is a legend and will be missed. Sadly my dad died in February too. There is a joyful reunion in heaven today. And the angel choir just got a new member. RIP BJ you left one hell of a legacy on this earth.
Big Ben's....I know you will miss him...we all miss our kinfolks, esp. as we get older. I can imagine the music in heaven..You and your family will be in my prayers...
I had the honor of having my band open for Mr. Thomas a couple years ago in Denver at Herman's Hideaway. His voice is as powerful as ever and his band was amazing. A consummate professional and gentleman.
B.J. Thomas kissed me on my right cheek when I heard him sing in Toronto. His prayer request was to have a hit song. When I found out he died not too long ago I couldn’t stop crying when I heard his songs. He is with Jesus, no Mom, brother Billy Rose, Uncle Fred grandma and grandpa and I am so jealous. I miss them all and I want to see Jesus too!
I've listened to all the legends who have sang this song. Today I was thinking about my son who who died. In my humble opinion B.J does it best. I got a few years in my eyes today for you,. RIP my man.
When B.J. Tomas passed away I just had to listen to this song. The world lost such a wonderful talent. I have always cried to this song and when B.J. passed I criex
Oh how I love BJ Thomas and so Lonesome I could cry! I am there right now! My husband passed 7 years ago, moved to be near my daughter, but she has her own life! Not many friends here! I love this!
He's STILL one of the greatest artists singing... he could teach some of these "new" so called singers a thing or two.... I can listen to B.J. Thomas for hours on end...
I've been thinking about this song A lot during the past few days. Imagine, to my surprise, I heard BJ passed away Saturday due to complications from lung cancer at his home in Arlington Texas, saturday, May 23rd, 2021. . Now, let those raindrops fall on your head and rest in peace BJ Thomas. Thank you for all your music you presented us with! May your journey be blessed.
My husband, Jesse, was a big Hank Williams fan but he loved B.J.'s version of this song. Jesse passed away three months ago and I just needed to listen to this old favorite again.
Bob Lewin1 year agoApril 1966, Camp LeJeune, NC - We have finished our infantry training, had our 2 week leave and all of us waiting for our orders to be shipped out - many to Vietnam. As we have some freetime one evening in the barracks the radio is playing a wonderful song by BJ Thomas "I'm so lonesome I could cry". What feelings come over us as we have just left our families while we were on leave and now face a very uncertain future to say the least. It's strange to be an 18, 19, 20 year old hiding our innermost doubts and putting on a strong face. Many will never see their loved ones, families, friends and country again. Thanks BJ for your song and thank you brother Marines for your ultimate sacrifice. I remember. ....this comment touched me at my very core!! as I sit her crying ..I want to thank you sir for your service!! i'll never forget this comment!!
Wow, I absolutely love BJ singing,I absolutely love ❤️ his singing ❤, I repeated that twice,Because I meant it,Seems like he is right in the room with us!, Sing and I’m so Lonesome I could cry!! R.I.P B.J.Thomas!!❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I Think that Mr. B.J. Thomas, Sang This Song in Perfect Timing and Perfect Harmonie,No One Ever Sang This,This Good it was Awesome and Perfect,God Bless America !!!
BJ Thomas is a song stylist who’ve I’ve loved since I was just a teenager. Now at 62 I can honestly say that he remains one of my favorite all time singers!
I love how he touched and captivated the audience (who look like his peers)...probably the best version of the song I've ever heard. I particularly like the ending where he gives up that kind of choppy yodel switchover that he throughout the song but he never needed. I'm glad to see BJ Thomas going up in popularity again...he's underrated!
Love when musicians put their heart into their music. You feel it in their voice and see it in their face. Only a few have this gift and many including BJ have passed. Love the legends gone too soon ❤️
B. J. Thomas has a voice that's so wonderful--and it's just effortless, for him to sing this song. He does such a great job with it--even better watching him perform it live!😊💒
Imagine covering a Hank Williams song! Talk about intimidating. Actually, I think Hank would be so proud. I hope the two are reunited and comparing notes on this gorgeous timeless, classic song that will never grow old, no matter which version you love. Rest In Peace Hank and BJ
This man has one of the best voices EVER--the emotion that he puts into the three minutes of this song is unbelievable!! I like the Hank Williams version, too, but this has always been my favorite--I've had a lot of nights like the one he's talking about😢.
He's had alot of issues with drugs and alcohol in his lifetime. I believe a true artist is sensitive and his sensitivity comes from his soul and all he has endured.
This song brings tears to me every single time I hear BJ sing it. He is phenomenal. I've seen him in person at least a half dozen times and every time tears just roll down my face. He is phenomenal!
I had the pleasure of working with BJ for a few weeks in Valley Forge. He was the star and I was but a dancer in the line. He was one of the kindest human beings I ever met.
Rest in Peace Billy Jo. You have no idea how your words, melody and voice could cause people to forget the troubles of this world and be in heaven only momentarily because of you. Also, you do realize that many many other singers (even Elvis) were envious of your ....... well, enough said. Tom 5/30/2021
B. J. Thomas put more emotion into this song's three minutes than Taylor Swift or any of the other singers of today have ever had, or will ever have. He has one of the best voices EVER--love it!💝😢
@@content3920 As it seems, that's what liberalism does. It causes angst and you start bashing other people because they don't think exactly like you do. Do you know what I mean? I'm not blaming you so don't read me wrong. I agree with all you are saying. I'm just explaining why people are the way they are. If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything. That's what liberalism does to you, then you can't be happy because nobody can fix everything, so you get angry and bash and blame all who don't believe like you. Avoid liberalism because Conservatism works!
BJ when I heard you sing this song as always I get goose bumps it's like you were personally singing this song to me about you. GOD BLESS YOU B.J. R.I.P. 🌹 💐
I love Rock, Country, Classic and anything sang by an original voice. What I love most about B J Thomas is he sounds like NOBODY!! else. Sound alikes come a dime a dozen but a God gifted original voice is extremely rare. The man is a legend.
Wow! Hank Williams didn't know this about his legacy but this is the artist that he left this incredible song for to sing it with haunting Justice. Amen!
How fortunate to be alive during BJ’s musical career. I swoon every time I hear his music. God bless you for sharing with the world I do cry to this song!!!
I born in 1962, I remember and like rain drops, I still sing them at kerioke parties, but I'm so lonesome, is hard to do... but I'm gonna master that for his papa...
“How good is that,” indeed! BJ recorded this in his 20s and here he is almost 70 (?) singing it BETTER! His voice is phenomenal and so is his phrasing and mike technique. This is a master class.
