@Ndagire, have you lived in North America to understand enough about the societal construction of black americans? Do you know unlike most Africans think, some of the decendents of black americans weren't actually only slaves, but they were slave owners? Do you know the majority of them are actually anti African immigrants in the US? Do you also know the majority came to Africa under the cover of "coming back to motherland" because life gets tough in the US? They don't give a fu** ab Africa except for few. Pls check out Corporate junky, an African who actually did a deep dive research around this topic so it can give you a better insight. Your vids are very repetitive and biased...try widening your horizon so you can get to the truth of whats going on. Don't let the same skin color fool you...Just because people have the same skin color don't mean anything...Africa is a developing continent, needs a skilled labor, not an annoying old lady complaining about petty things...that should tell anyone they came to Africa for the wrong reasons

To know my African history is a wealth of knowledge historically, but that doesn't necessarily translate into an open arm ceremony from native Africans birthed in that land. Though this is unfortunate, it just speaks to the strongholds of colonialism and separatists doctrines sown among the diaspora.

The black slave traders were the ones who captured you and forced you into the slave auctions on the west coast and on the east coast of Africa. Whether they sold slaves to Saudi Arabia or Persia or Jamaica made no difference to them as long as they got rich. And more black slaves ended up in Brazil than in North America because the Portuguese were buying slaves and shipped them to Brazil to work in mining and farming. African slave traders were selling slaves back and forth within Africa for decades before any European got involved. The Portuguese were the ones who started importing African slaves in their ships and the Portuguese were the first ones to cross the Atlantic with shiploads of slaves to sell/work in Brazil and the Caribbean. It was the British who were the first to put an end to slavery. And you are not so different than the Italian American. So what if his great great grand parents came here by choice ? He still is deluded thinking this "homeland" will welcome him same as the African Americans. As a matter of fact I believe the same person that created that campaign was involved in the Year of Return as well as Several American Pan Africanists This unification initiative and Black cultural awareness isn't going to be instant . Even Dr Arikana stated how she couldn't believe the Kwame Nkruma books aren't required reading in Ghanaian schools. And he is one of the most prominent leaders of the Pan African movement on the continent having gone to an HBCU in the US and bringing that to Ghana. Keep in mind there is no unemployment benefits in Africa that I know of or disability or workers compensation or Social Security etc.. Keep in mind also even if Pan African studies and Black History were taught, there is no free public education. So only very few would even get that knowledge. Theres a story about James Brown in Africa. Hes on tour and a blind local tries to walk into the backstage and 2 local cops guarding the tour are about to beat this blind man. Brown comes out and stops them and takes the blind guy into his dressing room and gives him an autograph and everything. Then the guy goes to leave, as soon as the cops see Brown is gone they proceed to beat the holy crap out of the blind guy in front of Browns band. The point being Africa isn't a utopia and will only placate black Americans as long as they can get money. Same thing with Cuba, Castro let Shakur live in luxury because she was famous, unknown black panthers who fled to the island he threw in prison

I have to say that you are correct to some degree. While we may bitch and complain about what we don't have here in the West, for all intents and purposes we do have more than some of our poorer brethren in Africa. But I think our biggest downfall, is our attitude. We cannot and should not go to another country even Africa, and think that we can walk around like we do here, with attitude. We have to be humble and learn the language, culture, traditions, food, lifestyle and every thing before we set foot in Africa, to live. We have to make it our home, not expect others to pander to us. Because we have been indoctrinated to believe that the "West is the Best" we carry an arrogance that is off-putting to them. Quiet as it's kept, we do have "white privilege" in a sense that we have been indoctrinated in so many ways thru education to think that the Greatest country in the world is the US. Humility is the key to merging into Africa. I am not saying be a rug for someone to walk on, but I am saying take the effort BEFORE you go there to learn the culture, immerse yourself into it, make connections before you arrive, and your transition will be a bit smoother.

When you accept the first price without question, and in fact many give MORE than the asked price, you contribute to them thinking "Oh, y'all got money!" So yeah in a place where the people have to hustle hard in order to live, they are gonna ask for a much as they can get. @4rtivist They are doing more than begging. Folks are finding any little thing they can to sell and make money. They are at the airport grabbing people's bags out of their hands to carry for them so they can make some money. The little boys follow tour groups around the country trying to sell trinkets. The people are up early in the morning and go to sleep late at night. They are super aggressive about it, sure, but there are few people just putting their empty hands out asking for something and giving nothing. That's not excusing the ones who want bribes to do the jobs they're already being paid for, or the crooks - crooks just like the ones we have here. Life is mad hard there. So yeah, it is eat or be eaten. If you don't hustle, you don't eat, and you don't have a roof over your head. They pay rent one year in advance, not month to month. Desperate times.

I’m Ghanaian born but raised in America and I absolutely hate the “begging culture” in African countries. Our mindset was destroyed through colonization and we haven’t done the necessary work it takes to fix it (we need therapy). We sit on resources the world needs and yet we’re forever begging for crumbs while our leaders give away the entire meal for personal gain. We need a global mind shift and soon-before our beloved continent is owned by another. I hear our American African’s ordeal and apologize to them but hope they don’t give up. Please be part of the solution and our collective evolution. Your lived experiences will make us stronger as a we unite. Africa is in your blood. We need your best and brightest, focused on bringing real change. You’re the therapy Africa needs. Re-connect and Re-integrate into your ancestral home and let’s get to doing the work. You have an opportunity to shape a continent that belongs to us. The question is…”what Africa do you want to see over the next 50 years?” China completely changed their global position in that amount of time. I think we can do it in less time but the work has to start now.

Africans are much too comfortable disenfranchising their own people but allows Europeans, Asians and middle easterns to rob them, pillage, rape them and encourage violence & hate against each other. I really don't understand and it's becoming harder to respect. African Americans housing community developments & land are being taken and demolished. After putting all their retirement into building there, giving jobs to the locals and opportunities for for them to learn new trades. Instead of the government & locals seeing this as a long term opportunity (ex locals to start a business or gov a long term development partnership) they are short sited.

We aren't Africans. Our ancestors who was sold out of Africa are connected to Africa. We are descendant of Slaves who fought and got us here now. Everyone we know who raised and protected us was born in the USA from Slaves. We have our own Culture from Slaves who built this Country. Harriet shot and stole us back up off lands that stole us and had us on Plantation. Everything we have now came from us by us. Our cultures goes everywhere we can't have our own everyone copies us and wants to be us. Black people are the blueprint.

He then walked out towards where the coaches were parked which was about twenty seconds walk away. He then asked for a tip. I gave him £1. He responded “What mi fi do wi dis !?” (What can I do with this?) I said “ I did not ask for your help and I am not disabled. I then asked him if £5 would be enough. He said yes. I asked him to give me back the £1. I took the money back then put my suitcase in the coach by myself then walked off. He ended up with nothing. My suitcase has wheels. I am a 6 foot athletic man. I visited Kenya sometime back and everyone was asking for money at the airport, there are "government" like people over there in uniform who are always checking inside your bags to see if theres anything new including shoes and they say they either take it all or you give them the amount they ask. I was disgusted! ROBBED IN DAYLIGHT!! Someone claiming to work at the airport also asked me for $60. Then some women soldiers in yellow and green looking like they are about to rob your bags! Its simply a toxic limited mindset but we cant let that mindset win by not challenging it. Its true to be able to withstand the bullying (essentially) you do have to grow thicker skin and develop a new way of perceiving your experience. So if you have the capacity, taking baby steps towards your desire to explore or relocate to the continent will at least leave you more educated and clear on your options and the possibilities you could have for your life on the continent.

All Africans, should practice who our ancestors were. They were not beggars, they had a high sense of pride, dignity and respect them selves. Protect all our brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers returning to their motherland. There are blessings in loving, caring and protecting them from criminals and beggars. Your blessings are not of this world. Love care and respect. Begging and stealing from our brothers and sisters returning home is basically stealing your own blessings. Be wise, kind and caring.
