2024 still her. What a Song and so deep lyrics. " Joanna Love , every day she falls in love , every night she falls when she does." I could cry a river when i hear it. Written to all lost souls in this material world.
A genuine proof of what a Les Paul and a pair of Strats are capable on the right hands

Mesmerizing performance....That was a phenomenal mix! It blended so seamless with every instrument audible without being muddled. I'm biased toward the rhythm section and the bass and drum sonics were in my ear perfect.
I've been stuck on this for at least 4years! I listen to this song several times a week and it never gets old! The other song I'm stuck on is Dave Matthews ft Warren Haynes live in Central Park NY remix of Cortez The Killer! A phenomenal 17 min jam that puts me in the same place as this song! Singing my heart out! Peace live and rock n roll!
This may be the best version of this song ever played. Proof that this band was lightning in a bottle when they wanted to be. THIS lineup was the real Black Crowes. I still miss these guys.
Love this version. Though, there is a version of Morning Jacket covering this song live at Red Rocks that will "turn goat piss into gasoline" if I can quote The Duck.
hes right up there with toy caldwell, derek trucks, duane, carolyn wonderland, all those legends that didnt use a pick. what a player. this vid introduced me to his other work. the guy is GOOD.
actually, eric clapton has nothing on this cat. id love to see the remake of that classic guitar duel on crossroads remade with this guy playin lightnin boys part, and clapton sittin in for steve vai. you can actually see luther leave this eartly realm at 7.57. and its just beautiful.
This song reminds me of the independence I experienced when my Dad threw me out at the age of16. Scared & homeless I still felt liberated & more happy than if I were still in the family home. This song reminds me of that time. Hungry, cold, not many clothes but no more abuse & my freedom made up for all that. Oh, Sweet Nuthin', indeed.
I ain't got nothing at all and it feels kinda free. Just like Janis said.. Freedom just another word for nothing else to lose. I don't have to worry about payments and BS. My house and old beat up Jeep are paid for and I don't want to get into debt for shit that I don't need.
Amazingly sad but beautiful at the same time. You WON! I sincerely hope you broke the chain baby boy because you are why I keep going. People like you!
The Velvet's 4 albums and MC5's 2 studio albums should be listened to on headphones by anyone who loves Rock N Roll. Even today I don't know why these bands are not more well known. Six of the best albums of that era. The Stones, ZZ Top (70s), Neil Young and many other existing bands changed or modeled their sound after these bands sound before Punk emerged in 77. Yes, ZZ Top with many songs like I Heard It On The X, I call them Southern Punk, they never fit the Southern Rock sound completely because they have that hard blunt edge, or they go completely Blues.
What a classic song! Sung by one of the last classic rock bands left (but I guess they're not even left anymore). A song so relevant to so many people today, living on the streets, living in the woods. Alone and forgotten, nothing to look forward to. Lou Reed, he was not afraid to look into the abyss.
I love all music. Its my fav part of being a human. From bluegrass, death metal, hip hop, rock, blues every thing. Even though its a simple chord progression. The way my guy plays that solo on the les paul speaks to me. Its the best solo ive ever heard and i come back over and over. I aint got nothing at all.
Indeed think maybe all are little guilty of neglect, with what u stated, unintentionally in most of all but overlooked or overran,it happens, real mistake is not repairing or restoring the same thing in ourselves as well as others of the tree
Lol not really. This was a defining Velvet Underground song when it came out. But this version.. Yes, underrated and almost criminally unknown. Even within the music community, I'll play it for musicians who I have deep respect for and most have never heard it.
The best line up for certain. I miss Luther! Great slide that made the sound in this song. I am in my 70's and this bunch of guys rock!! Loved them for years!
Me also, seen them a few times over here in the UK, Glasgow, barrowland ballroom was something else then later in the summer in the old Wembley stadium London supporting a little outfit with promising credentials called the Rolling Stones!, Outstanding.
Must say I only ever heard this song in Loki season 2 and it was the velvet underground. This is a great version. Love the black crowes and actually their great new song led me here.
You don't see Rich sing lead very often..... but they really hit the right notes with this version of an old Velvet Underground classic. Well played, boys.
I always liked the Black Crows but their version of this song helped me get through the loss of my wife! Thank you for your sheer perfection of every note and lyric it brings me to tears every time I sing along with it! At least 5-7 times a week!! please keep Jammin On
me too my friend-I lost my best friend years back-they took the shoes off his feet and threw him right into the street-kills me inside every time I hear that verse
Always really liked these guys, this is beautiful and a fantastic job on a supreme song, they have covered others also from various acts, the stones certainly have been covered by them and a good job also at that .Take care everyone ❤❤
Chris Robinson please come to Pensacola Beach Florida. There's a stage right next to the ocean. The sand is like sugar and the water is turquoise. We hardly, ever get any good concerts anymore. Do us Floridians a solid.
I didn't even know he sung, but this has become one of my fav Black Crowes. And yes I know it's a cover, and I love the Velvet Underground as well.... Peace...
I didn't know either and I'm kinda surprised that he had the opportunity while with the crowes. It was my understanding that Chris was, let's say, high maintenance. I have no direct knowledge, just things I read about and stories I heard
@@brendanmcmahon1162 why should it surprise you that Richard can sing? He's talented like his brother Chris man. Chris was front man bottom line no matter what differences occurred man. Hats off to the boys aka Black Crowes man.
I'm a drummer, so for years I have been too concerned with the rhythm section to pay TOO much attention to the guitarists, but man, Luther is absolutely phenomenal here. No super-fancy tricks, just the perfect sound, the perfect phrases, the perfect notes. That second solo at 7.30 is out of this world
Saw them in Boone NC. They were playing a concert at App St. that had been booked before shake your money maker had broken on MTV . I was on the front row before anyone new who they were. 1989 I think. I didn’t know who they would be. Just rocked out that night. Low and behold, from there to here.
Just discovered this last year. I've probably listened to a couple of hundred times. I grew up as a Who- Zeppelin guy. But there's nothing like a band where they can swap leads. It really adds to the vibe
Say a word for Jimmy Brown He ain't got nothing at all Not the shirt right off his back He ain't got nothing at all And say a word for Ginger Brown Walks with his head down to the ground Took the shoes right off his feet Threw the poor boy right out in the street And this is what he said Oh, sweet nothin' She ain't got nothin' at all Oh, sweet nothin' She ain't got nothin' at all Say a word for Pearly May She can't tell the night from the day They threw her out in the street But just like a cat, she landed on her feet And say a word for Joana Love She ain't got nothing at all 'Cause everyday she falls in love And every night she falls And when she does, she says Oh, sweet nothin' You know she he ain't got nothing at all, whoa-whoa Oh, sweet nothin', yeah She ain't got nothin' at all Oh, let me hear you Oh, say a word (oh, sweet nothin') Say a word for Jimmy Brown He ain't got nothin' at all, not a thing Not the shirt, shirt on his back (oh, sweet nothin') No, he ain't got nothing at all And say a word for Ginger (oh, sweet nothin') He walks (he ain't got nothin' at all) With his head down to the ground They took the shoes (oh, sweet nothin') Took the shoes from his feet, from his feet And threw poor boy (he ain't got nothin' at all) Out into the street, and then he said Oh, sweet, sweet nothin' She ain't got, she ain't got She ain't got nothin' at all Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet nothin' (Ain't got nothing at all) she ain't got Sweet, sweet nothin' (oh, sweet nothin') Sweet, sweet nothin' (she ain't got nothin' at all) Uh, sweet, sweet nothin, got nothin' Oh, sweet nothin', whoa (Ain't got nothin' at all) sweet nothin' at all Oh, let me hear ya She ain't got nothin' at all She ain't got nothin' at all She ain't got nothin' at all She ain't got nothin' at all She ain't got nothin' at all, sweet nothin' Ain't got nothin' at all, sweet, sweet nothin' She ain't got nothin' at all
I've always loved Black Crowes, but I'm head over heals about this song and listening to them live!! I would love to see them perform and this song.......I know why now God destined me to hear it for 1st time in this season of life!! There is a sweetness to having nothing and understanding simplicity in life n the things that matter. Black Crowes I'm in love with u all over again!! Music is the medication to my soul!!
